Everyone was sat backstage smoking, it was like a hotbox in there. Kat had her feet propped on George's lap, Matty had noticed that they had become quite close since he now spent all his time out with Alice.

"I just don't understand the whole situation you know?" George rambled, Kat giggled "why couldn't they stay together just because she got a role in a movie." The group had gone to see La La Land that day and George hadn't liked it, he found it rather annoying.

"She was going to Paris, George!" Kat defended, she had loved the movie as the hopeless romantic she was. Even though she seemed the opposite.

"There's a thing called long distance relationships, Kat!" He mocked her tone which made her laugh. He started giving her a foot massage as Matty walked in.

"Kit, I need your help." He said as the cigarette hung from his lips. She raised her eyebrows, enjoying what George was doing to her feet.

"Wow Matthew, I didn't hear a please there." She pointed out. He rolled his eyes.

"Fucking please then, Katherine." He mocked her, she grinned at how wound up he got before standing up to follow him. The closer she got, the darker the circles under his eyes became. She grabbed her bag and followed him out the room.

"What's up?" She asked as they reached an empty room.

"Alice is coming tonight and I need to look not high or drunk or anything. She's only seen me in the daytime and I need her to think I have my shit together." He rambled, Kat raised her eyebrows.

"Wow, you must really like her" She pointed out, he nodded uncomfortably. "Doesn't she know you take stuff?" He shook his head.

"I don't want her to know." He mumbled, Kat frowned. She didn't approve of starting a relationship based on lies. He sat on the back of the sofa, the only piece of furniture in the room they were in, and while she stood in between his legs. He pulled her shirt towards him, making her stumble closer. "I don't want her to know about us, either." He added, staring at his hands that were on her revealed stomach. If Alice could see them, she would flip.

"That's fair." She accepted, she knew it would happen eventually; that one of them would get bored or find somebody else.

"You're still one of my best friends Kitty" he ran a finger over her belly button. It still scared him how much he liked Kat and how much he wanted to spend time with her. "My partner in crime." He chuckled to himself, looking up at her. She smiled down at him before kissing his forehead lightly.

She reached down into her bag and pulled out her makeup bag. Pulling out her concealer and beauty blender, she held his face in one of her hands.

"What're you doing?" He asked, she smiled at his sheepish expression. "Kat-" she cut him off by kissing him quickly. She pulled away as if it meant nothing, it had to have meant nothing, and continued to apply the make up.

She wiped the wet concealer under his eyes, he loved being held in her hands. Making sure she had a swift line under each eye, he watched her focus.

"You look as if you have been up all night doing lines." She joked, he snorted before pulling her closer to him. "Close your eyes." She instructed.

"Kinky." He pinched her side which made her giggle. He closed his eyes as she blended the concealer into his skin.

"Settle down Matthew." She slapped his hand away from her sides.

"I hate it when you call me that." He pouted, she giggled and gave him a soft kiss on his nose. He liked her small kisses which scared him a lot.

"Will you let me cut your hair?" She asked as she blended, he opened his eye for a split second just as she hit his under eye. He cried out in pain as she cried out with laughter. "I told you to close your eyes!" She laughed, he pouted and pulled her closer again.

"You asked me a fucking question, how am I supposed to multi task?" He said, taking his position on the sofa again and fitting her between his legs.

"So can I?" She asked, running her thumb under his open eyes.

"Sure, we can do it tomorrow if you want." He shrugged, she smiled.

"Come on then, you've got a girl to impress." She gave him her best smile as she pulled him out the door. He would let her drag him anywhere.

The boys started doing their mind numbing wandering around before the show. Matty looked pretty decently sober even if underneath all of that he looked like a doped up insomniac.

Tammy pulled Kat away so they could go and get a good spot in the crowd but as she was about to leave the room, Kat saw Matty pick up a bottle of red wine that was left out for them as a present and pulled her hand away from Tammy harshly. She grabbed the bottle from his hands and pushed a bottle of water into it instead.

"You'll thank me later." She stared into his eyes, his whole body ached for the wine but he knew she was right.

"You're the best." He whispered, kissing her quickly and leaving the wine on the table as he made his way to the stage.

"What was that?" Tammy asked, Kat ignored her question and pushed passed her on the way to the crowd. Tammy repeated her question when they got to the bar.

"He's trying to impress that girl, I don't know. He's a mess and he doesn't want her to know that just yet." Tammy bit her lip, she was worried that Kat would fall for him now.

"Have you stopped sleeping with him?" She asked, passing her a drink.

"Yes, I'm not stupid. He likes another girl, it would just be weird to sleep with him now." She lied, she would love to sleep with him but she knew it was wrong.

"So why did you kiss him?" She asked, Kat shrugged.

"I don't know, I guess since they're not officially together, it doesn't feel as wrong as it is." It was fucked up but true and Tammy couldn't do anything about it.

"Right." Tammy said blankly.

They watched their set with pride, loving every moment. Kat got lost in their songs, the poetry behind them. She appreciated Matty's lyrics more than anyone.

"Alright, it's getting too hot, the shirt's coming off don't overreact." He said into the microphone, he ripped open his shirt and everyone went crazy. He looked into Kat's eyes and smirked as he watched her roll hers. He drank some of the water and threw it down on the floor, he was struggling.

"Can you see her anywhere?" Kat asked when the boys were having a quieter moment. Tammy looked around and shrugged.

"Not yet, she doesn't seem like the girl to try and her to the front though." She said in her ear, Kat just nodded but looked around a bit.

Matty could see Alice, she was at the back with a group of friends just happily watching from a far. He could also see Kat looking around every once in a while and knew she was looking for her to. It was inevitable, they would meet at some point and what was he going to do about it?

The set finished and people dispersed. Kat and Tammy made there way backstage where Kat was sure she would meet Alice but alas, she was no where to be seen.

"Where's Matty?" She asked the room, the guys were just getting their stuff packed up.

"He left with Alice already." Adam shrugged, she raised her eyebrows and George handed her a bag to carry to the van.

"He's nervous about her meeting you" He whispered, she raised her eyebrows even further.

"Why? I've said I wouldn't say anything." She was beyond confused but George nodded his head in the direction they had to walk.

"I don't think it's you he's worried about. Alice has been at the house quite a bit recently and Matty's told me she's asked about you. She knows you exist but she's suspicious" he explained, this was all new to Kat.

"She's suspicious and she hasn't even met me?" Alice sounded like a right twat.

"Apparently she was just curious of how you met but she seems sound in all fairness." George concluded as they made their way to the van. Kat put the bag in the back as they put all their equipment in there.

"Yeah proper sound." She teased, George pushed her playfully which made her laugh.

Matty and Alice were in her car, on their way to hers. She had brought her car which was convenient.

"I would've thought you'd be drinking tonight." Alice said, he shrugged.

"Got a bit nervous and jittery beforehand so thought it was best not to." He lied, he wanted nothing more. Alice smiled, content with his answer as she pulled into her driveway. "Is anyone home?" He asked as they got out, she just shook her head and he knew what was about to happen.

Kat sat on the floor in the boys' house with a bottle of tequila in her hand. George was sat across from her with a joint in his mouth. Kat knew that Matty was gonna sleep with Alice tonight, she didn't want to think about it.

"Fuck." She mumbled and took another swig.

"I'm exhausted" George groaned, putting out the joint and laying down on the floor. Kat laid down next to him and stared at the ceiling.

"Same." She whispered.

Matty was pressed up against the wall as Alice took off his shirt, he couldn't believe what was happening. He spun her around so she was up against the wall and suddenly he felt a hand against his trousers.

"You sure?" He asked, she just nodded quickly before pushing her lips against his again.

Kat was woken by someone slipping in the gap next to her, she opened her eyes to see Tammy. She wrapped her arms around her and they fell back asleep.

"Love you Tim Tam." She whispered, Tammy kissed her softly and closed her eyes again.
