Danielle POV

First it's the alarm that goes off every morning at 7:35 am like clock work. I sat up and stretched my back, letting my blonde locks free from the confines of the hair band. I adjusted my contacts covering my green eyes so I wouldn't be as blind as a bat before wandering downstairs. The lights of the kitchen automatically came on as I made my way to the espresso machine and pressed the button. There sat the divorce papers, my failed marriage of two years spilled out into one hundred and twenty pages. Now Finn just needed to sign them. I would be free. Being married to a doctor and being an owner of a recording studio and partial tour manager was the worse idea ever. Dinner together? That's a joke. Sex? Ha! Arguing? Now that we had mastered. Any second we weren't sleeping or apart it was a screaming match.

I tucked the papers in my brief case before going back upstairs and turning on the shower to scalding hot. This apartment was perfect, two stories, looking right out to the bay and the bridge. I scrubbed my scalp raw just like my skin before I shuffled out and wrapped a towel around my tan frame. Like a surgeon I applied a thin coat of make up to not look like death before resuming my daily routine. Dark skinny jeans, black heals, black crop top, and leather jacket to finish it all off. Plus it was almost completely winter out. There was barely a chance of warmth during the day. Back downstairs I went, grabbing my black caffeine and bag before walking to the lift. In the garage sat my white Porsche 911 Turbo S along with everyone eleses cars that lived in the building. Like clock work 8:15 I left the building and rode down to one of the many skyscrapers that kissed the San Francisco sky. I strolled to my secretary's desk, digging in my bag.

"Morning Ellie."

"Morning miss Matthews... Sorry Evans. I'll have to get use to it." She was blonde like me, short and had a brilliant smile. We'd gotten drinks a couple times, I would dare call us semi friends. The bartender at the whiskey kept thinking we were sisters.

"Me too, but it's for the best. Can you get this to the post office today. I want these bloody things signed-"

"He's actually here waiting..." I sighed slightly, I wasn't going to go to the waiting room and give them to him. Why because he would whine.

"Well great. Give them to him. I don't want him in my office."

"And there is someone else here for you. Marty? He said you would know him and he's got two friends with him." I lifted a brow for a moment before lowering it and sighing.

"Well first give these to Finn. Tell Marty it will be a few minutes I've yet to finish my morning espresso. I'll buzz you when I'm ready for him. Also I would love a cup of tea in about twenty minutes."

" Yes Miss Evans." I turned on my heels and headed to my office. I could see every thing even my home town good old Oakland from the glass windows. The memories that it held were good for the most part. Heart break too. I couldn't forget the man whom broke my heart into millions of pieces. We were best friends up until that fall day when we were twenty one. I couldn't believe it had been four years. In two weeks I would be celebrating my twenty fifth. Alone and starting from square one all over again. Fuck it right? My thoughts were interrupted when Finn came marching in, Ellie trying to stop him with clip board in hand.

"What is this shit? Conflict of irreconcilable differences?! Danny come on." I turned around and glanced at him before shaking my head. His brown hair and strong frame looked overall pathetic today. Usually he was quite together.

"Don't make this fucking difficult Finn! I said I'm done! Fucking sign them yeah?" I sat down at my desk and opened the laptop in front of me.

"You're a workaholic Danny."

"Says the doctor who didn't try and take off for our anniversary or my birthday. You took off on yours right? Ooo yeah to go do what? Golf with Ryan your military buddy. Leave otherwise I'll call security." He sighed and snatched a pen off my desk, he scribbled his name before tossing the papers at the wall. One hundred and twenty disorganized papers flew around till they fell as he left. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, Ellie blinking a few times.

"I'll clean that up and organize it and get it to your lawyer today. Shall I tell Marty to come back?"

" No... Just.... Send him in please." I downed my espresso before rubbing my eyes. The sound of the door swinging open and closed made me look up. There stood Marty, Blizzy, and Gerald. Like a good nightmare it was all coming back. " Well fuck. I didn't recognize the name till now." I stood and walked around the table, giving each one a hug. Gerald tensed as did I before I sat down.

"How you been D?"

"I can't complain. Sorry about the mess. Upset ex husband." Blizzy chuckled before looking around. " What brings you all by?"

" We need a studio to finish up an album."

"Whose album?"

"Mine." Gerald chimed in while pulling out his phone, glancing at the screen before looking back to me as I looked to Marty.

"Why? Why can't you all finish recording where you were?" The three looked at each other before Marty cleared his throat.

" It kinda burned down..."

"Dare I ask how?"

"A blunt and a blow torch." Blizzy mumbled.

"A what?!" I blinked a few times before sitting on my desk.

"A blunt.... And a blow torch." Marty said it a little louder, though I did hear it the first time. I laughed before walking around my desk and sitting down. I glanced to Ellie who was handling the mess in the floor near the door of my office.

"Ellie three coffees and a tea. I've got to hear this story." I smirked slightly and put my feet up on the desk, entertwining my fingers.
