"And that is why the hot winds that come in from the south create monsoon in Mexico before it hits central America," our geography teacher said, moments before the bell rang.

"You wanna grab a coffee? I have a free," Levi said, as we walked our of the class.

"Yeah sure,"

We walked to the cute café which was on campus, and I took out my sketch book and pencils.

"What do you have next?" Levi asked, pulling open his laptop.

"Oh shit," I said, feeling into my pocket. I didn't have my phone with me. "Ugh, I think I left my phone in Jake's room, I'll be back, can you order for me?" I said, getting up.

"Sure," Levi smiled, and I made my way to the dorms.

I knocked on the door, and moments later it creaked open, and Aiden stood imfront of me, shirtless, with messy and his eyes half shut.
"Hey," he said in his groggoy morning voice, pulling me away from all my other thoughts.

I saw the bruise on his torso from last night, and before I said anything, he pulled the open, and I sawMichaela Williams' long eye lashes fluttering in front of me.

I'll give her one thing, she was insanely talented at painting her face.

Just to give you some context, this walking Barbie doll is the reason that I got into detention more than 4 times last year. She's also the first person to actually through a punch at me for wearing something that her boyfriend thought was cute.....ex-boyfriend now.

I didn't want to hold it against her though, all said and done, I was pretty bitchy last year, and I wasn't really interested on spending my energy on her internalized misogony.

Her long legs were crossed over reach other, and her long half pony tail hung off the side of her shoulder.

"Hayleyyyy," she said enthusiastically,
"Whar are you doing here," she said, in annoying, bored tone.

What is she doing here, I mimicked in my head.

"I left my phone here," I said walking in, and looking around the desk.

"I'm gonna go shower, please close the door on your way out," Aiden said, picking up his towel, and waking out of his room.

I walked over to the desk and moved books around looking for my phone.

"You know what, I actually find it really amusing," Michaela started talking, and I internally groaned.

I looked at her, when she unpacked and continued taking.

"That you've actually changed so much!" She said, and I sighed.

"I haven't changed that much Michaela, I just stopped drinking," I said, hoping to find my phone before she said something that would piss me off.

"And well....you stopped sleeping with every guy that was in your vicinity,"

"Can I help you?" I asked looking at her, narrowing my eyes.

She looked at her nails, chipping off the nail polish, "Well I'm just saying...last year, until you strutted your slutty little ass all over Caleb Hawkins he was all over me. That's fine because I can do so much better than him, but if you get naked in front of Aiden, that would be very stupid of you, because you don't know the history I have with him, and I don't like to sell myself to guys just to get their attention."

"You think I slept with guys because I wanted their attention?"

"If not, then why?"

"Because I was drunk, and it seemed like fun...and most of them saw me a-" I stopped trying to justify myself and began walking out.

"Ugh whatever, you were a slut, big time, so I'm just warning you to keep it in your pants with Aiden,"

I looked at her and scowled clenching my jaw. I would've said something, maybe punched her, but I didn't. I didn't want her to think she could get to me, which she didn't, just looking looking her annoyed me.

I picked up my phone and ran out the door before I lost my temper, and headed back to the cafe.

I was half asleep through all my remaining classes, until lunch.

"Jake what time is practice today, I have an extra class at 5," Ryan said, resting back on the chair behind him.

"I'm going out, you can ask coach," Jacob replied.

"Where're you going?" Scarlett asked

"I'm.... gonna meet my dad actually," he said.

"Fuck, really?" Ryan said,

Jacob's dad was in prison. Or well he had been. He got convicted for possession of illegal substances.

Jacob hated him because of the childhood he had, but I guess he wanted to hear what his dad had to say.

"Yeah, he left me a voice message, and...well I want to know what he has to say."

"What about to your brother.?" I asked.

Max was Jake's older brother. He dropped out of collage a few years ago, and now...well I'm not sure what he does...

"I don't know, but I don't think he'd care,"

"Are you sure about this?" Scarlett asked.

"No, but...I don't know, maybe there's things I don't know...." Jake mumbled.

Aiden stood up, and gave Jacob a reassuring tap on the shoulder, "all the best man," he said, walking away throw away his tray.

After lunch and my last couple classes, I went back to my room. I decided to go to the gym for a while which was super relaxing.

I ran about 4 miles in 45 minutes, which was difficult as fuck, and maybe I shouldn't have pushed myself as hard as I did, but it only made dinner taste a hundred times better.

I headed back to my room, and painted for a while, when I heard the door creak open, and Levi, Scarlett and Ryan walked in.

"Ayee," Levi said, plopping down onto my beanbag. "That looks fucking insane Hayley, holy shit, you'd get paid a shit ton for that,"

I felt my cheeks turn pink and smiled shyly,

"Thanks," I mumbled, still smiling.

"Jones, I need your chemistry notes," Ryan said, sitting on Scarlett's bed.

"I..uh, haven't really done anything, but I do have this other girls notes that you can borrow," I said, as Scarlett snuggled into Ryan's arms, and he kissed her forehead.

"Jeez guys get a room," Levi chuckled,

They were pretty cute together, weren't they.

We were talking and joking around, when the door burst open, and Jacob walked in. He shut the door behind him, and walked around the room.

"Hey! How'd it go!" Ryan asked.

Jake nodded, "Fine,"

"What'd he say?" Scarlett asked.

"He seems different...like a good different," he said, not seeming to want to talk about it, so we didn't didn't ask him any other questions.

We ended staying up for quiet sometime, just laughing around and having fun, remind me again just how great they were.

I expected that not having Aiden there would make me comfortable, maybe remind me of how things used to be in summer, but weirdly, I sort of hoped he'd show up as well.

I must be getting used to his presence, because every once in a while, I could imagine what he'd say if he were there, or see him chuckling at something stupid, it was weird.

Once it got late, Ryan fell asleep in Scarlett's arms, looking like a small little child, it was adorable, and Levi and Jake snuck out, making their way back to their rooms.

I luckily fell asleep not too long after I lied down on my bed, likely cause of my intense workout.
