* Kennedys PoV *

I reply back saying nothing and put my phone back on the table as I try and find a movie for us to watch

"What time is it?" Gabi asks looking down at her watch

"Shit Matt we are going to be late" she says jumping up placing the plastic tiara on the table kissing Ryan on the head

"What for?" I ask seeing the two putting their shoes on

"We said we'd cover Molly's tonight Herman and his wife are celebrating their anniversary" she says

"Ok I'll see you soon" I say rushing over and giving my sister and brother in law a quick hug before they rush out the door

I look over to the groceries that were still sat on the counter. I walk over and slowly start taking stuff out and putting into there rightful places in the fridge and in the pantry

I leave the chicken out deciding the make chicken curry for our dinner, I put it in the fridge for now since I still had some time till I had to cook

I sit down at the table watching Jay and Ryan sitting back watching That's so Raven reruns

I sigh remembering I have to wash my scrubs for tomorrows shift

"Jay you need anything washed?" I ask since he had a great amount of clothes here now, he pretty much just moved in it feels like

"No I'll wash it later" he smiles laughing

The next episode starts, it was the one where Raven and Chelsea are both applying for the same job

I run up the steps and grab my scrubs and a few other clothes that were laying around the room, some mine and some Jay's I know he said he'd do his later but I don't have much to wash

I grab the clothes in the bathroom and walk back downstairs with an armful of clothes taking one step at a time so I dont trip

I reach the laundry machines and drop the pile before grabbing my work bag and taking the other pair of scrubs and opening the closet door

I make sure to throw both pairs in then start loading the rest, I add the detergent and turn the machine on

I hear the beep and close the door, I look at the tv and see that Raven is having a vision

"The truth is I dont hire black people" the store manager says and I clench my fist, my daughter doesn't have my skin but she has my blood which means she is part Mexican, and in this world we live in where some people looks at the color of another's skin and judge before actually knowing them

I have colored skin and people constantly make assumptions about me and it sucks that people make assumptions about me, that I'm illegal, thats I'm probably undocumented worker, I'm a dish washer, my daughter I hope will never go through what I have once people find out she is half mexican

I walk upstairs and reach the bed, I sit down catching my breath

I remember Antonio was texting I get up slowly taking a deep breathe and make my way downstairs

I grab my phone and see a text from Antonio

Was wondering if you and I can go get a drink later I need to talk to you

Uhm ya I can meet you later but maybe for coffee, I'm trying to quit drinking right now, just after everything

I hit send and see that it was 3:43 still had time before I had to cook
