I arrive at Molly's with Gabi and we walk in

"Kennedy welcome home" Chief Bowden says hugging me

"It's good to be home" I smile hugging him

I look around and see a guy he was cute, he had brown hair and blue eyes and he was talking to an older guy

I go sit at the bar and Herrmann walks up with a bottle in hand

"On the house" he says walking away

"Kennedy meet Alvin Olinsky and Jay Halstead" Antonio says walking up behind me

"Is your brother Will Halstead?" I ask since I'd be working with him tomorrow

"Ya how do you know him?" He asks taking a drink of his beer

"I'll be working with him, I start my first shift tomorrow" I smile

"He's a good doctor and if he harasses you in any way call me" he laughs winking

"Will do detective" I smile laughing as Gabi walks up with a blonde girl

"Kennedy Meet Sylvie Brett" she says grabbing her and pushing her towards me

"Sylvie y Antonio están saliendo(Sylvie and Antonio are dating)" she says and I sit up

"que por cuanto tiempo(what for how long?)" I ask and she is looking at us confused

"unos meses, ella es agradable trabajo con ella en ambu(a few months, she is nice I work with her in ambu)" Gabi says as Sylvie sits behind Gabi who was sitting beside me

"Todavía no veremos, ¿cómo están Eva y Diego haciendo que los extraño tanto mientras yo estaba en África(I don't yet we'll see, how is Eva and Diego doing I miss them so much while I was in Africa)" I say looking at her

"son buenos te echan de menos también estaban hablando de ti el otro día preguntando cuándo ibas a casa(they are good they miss you too they were actually talking about you the other day asking when you were coming home)" she says as Antonio walks up and kisses Sylvie

"Ken meet Sylvie" Antonio says wrapping his arm around Sylvie

"We met already" she says taking a drink of her cocktail

I smile and look away from him

"So Kennedy how long have you been a doctor?" Jay asks setting his class down

"Almost 7 years now I'm actually not a medically licensed yet but I got one more year" I smile at all my hard work I'm almost a licenced doctor

"Wow long time" he says shifting so he was facing me I nod taking a drink of the cold bottle letting the alcohol burn down my throat

"Kennedy were you the young buck Hank Voight was with?" Alvin asks and Jay looks at me, I choke on my drink

"Ken you ok?" Gabi says hitting my back a little trying to help

"I'll take that as a yes" he says taking a drink of his beer and throwing money down and leaving, same goes for Jay

I catch my breath and look at Gabi and throw some down and leave and head back to my apartment

I walk in and head up to my room, I grab my phone and debate on calling Hank, I throw my phone on the bed and grab my towel and head to the shower

I finish showering and see I have a text from Kelly

Ya I'm pretty tired if you want you can come by bring a pack can catch up x

I throw my phone on the bed and get changed into my Chicago black hawks t-shirt and black shorts and my favorite over the knee socks

I lay on my couch flipping through channels till I hear a knock at my door, I jump up and run to the door

I open the door to see Hank

"Hank?" I say confused on why he showed up to my place

"Hey Kenny" he says scratching the back of his neck "I don't know why I came here in the first place but I did" he says looking down

"Its ok but uhm Kelly Severide is on his way here to catch up" I say honestly

"Really?" He says looking at me I nod and he looks down the hall

"Ok well I'll go, I'll see you around Kenny" Hank says leaving

I close the door and lean against it trying not to cry

I go back and flip through the channels, after flipping through channels I settle in Rizzoli and Isles

I hear a knock at the door, I get up and walk slowly to the door, I look through the peep hole to see Kelly, Matt and Gabi

I wipe my face and open the door

"Hope you don't mind us crashing" Matt says I smile and they walk in along with Sylvie and Antonio

We sit on the couch, I grab a beer and open it slamming half of it probably

"Whoa Kenny you ok?" Gabi asks me I shrug looking down

"I don't want to talk about it" I say before they egg me on

"So Kennedy how was Africa?" Antonio asks leaning back

"It was amazing I loved working with the kids there was this one little girl she was adorable I loved that little girl" I smile unfortunately her little body couldn't handle the medicine we were pumping through her fragile body she passed 3 days after the treatment

"Aw how is she?" Sylvie asks "her body couldn't handle the medicine she uh passed away 3 days after the treatment" I let a tear out

" oh I'm sorry I know what it's like to loss a patient" she says "no you don't I treat the same people all the time, I get to know my patients, their families, you, you treat different people everyday you don't know what it is like to go to a patients family and tell them that their loved one is dead and you have to explain you done your best to try save them but you couldn't, you don't have to have their loved ones crying in your arms asking all the questions" I say crying

"I think you guys should leave I'm tired I have to be up early I start my shift at 8am" I say putting my drink on the table

"Ok Kenny" Antonio says wrapping his arms around me "good night baby sis" he kisses my head

"Night Kenny" Gabi says wiping my face and kissing my cheek after giving me a tight hug

"Sorry Kelly maybe next time" I say hugging him "yah next time" he says as they leave

I walk into my room and grab my phone and texting Hank

I lay on top of my blankets, I feel the bed dip I look over to see Hank

"you ok baby girl?" Hank asks pulling me into his chest I shake my head and just lay there until I fall asleep, I always felt safe in his arms
