Dear Readers,

In case you get confused, the Rogan that Juliette or Jared is referring to is actually still Romeo at this point of the story.
——————————————————————
Juliette Leclaire's POV

"What are you doing?" I asked Rogan who had spent hours at the front yard."I'm building a swing," He said.

"Are you serious?" I giggled and then I continued to tease him, "Come on, our baby is barely even 3 months old in my belly and you have already got all the baby stuffs set up, this swing won't be necessary until our baby turns at least three to four years old. You're taking this dad thing way too seriously."

"Well, I just can't help taking everything about you seriously," He pulled me in his embrace and teased me.

Aww...

"This swing here isn't just for our child, it's for me too," He said as he pointed to the swing."For you?" I asked with a raised brow.

"Yea, so that I can sit here and catch the first glimpse of you whenever you come back home... So that you will never lose sight of our home. I'll always be here waiting for you to come back to me," He said as he looked into my eyes with a lingering sense of longing.

"I'm not going anywhere without you, so don't you worry," I smiled back at him as the fuzziness in my heart warmed up to his words.

"Can I try out the swing?" I chirped.

"Okay... but you got to be careful alright?" Rogan cautioned me. I could see that he got more uptight about me ever since I got pregnant. He had one hand pushing the swing gently while the other hand of his held on to me. It's an act that surprises me given that his nature has always been a tad on the lax and crazy side, but it's this little acts of his that make me fall even harder for him.

"Juliette," He called out to me as he stopped swinging the swing.

"Yea?" I asked.

He came around and knelt on one knee before me.

"What are you doing?" I asked questionably.

He pulled out a little velvety box and said, "Juliette, I don't think we started off right. I wish we could do this all over again."

He opened the box to a sparkling diamond ring and said with his eyes yearning for approval from me, "Will you marry me?"

"Silly, ain't I married to you already?" I laughed.

"Not in this manner, I want to do it right this time. I owe you a proper proposal, so will you do me the honour?" He asked once more firmly.

"Of course, I do," I smiled widely as I stuck my hand out for him.

He slipped the ring onto my finger and chirped, "Now we just need a proper wedding ceremony next."

"What? I don't think that's necessary, we're legally married already after all," I explained.

He licks his dry lips before replying me, "Actually, I have got the annulment papers ready."

"What?!" I exclaimed in disbelief at what I just heard.

One moment he is proposing to me and the next moment he wants to our marriage annulled?! Did he just take my faint heart on a roller coaster ride?

"Calm down, it's not like what you think it is," He explained hurriedly after seeing my response.

"I just wanted us to remember that we got married out of love and not because of some forced arrangement. Don't worry, as soon as our marriage gets annulled, we will be marrying each other once more, this time around we will do in holy matrimony of a mutual love for each other," He explained.

I honestly didn't expect this to be coming from him but since he is coming off from the right intent, I agreed to his idea with full faith in his words.

"Alright, there is no reason for me to doubt you anyway," I replied with a slight curl up my smile.

His eyes sparkled upon my agreement, "Okay, I shall go get everything ready, I promise you, you will be the happiest bride ever..."

*A few days later*

It was a lazy afternoon when I realised I had missed several calls from my mother and so I returned her call immediately.

"Hi mom, I'm sorry for returning your call late, I was busy..." I tried to explain to my mother but I was cut by her before I could finish my sentence.

"Juliette! Your father is in the hospital now, he had a stroke..." My mother's voice was breaking apart in a tone of distressed whimpers.

"What?! What happened? How is he now?!" I asked in fluster as panic sets into me upon hearing the devastating news.

Our company went bust because of the Morgans, they had us as their scapegoat for a series of fraudulent crimes. Our company is now under held under investigation, and that's how your father got a stroke when he learned about this. Juliette, just what is happening?" My mother explained.

"No, no, this can't be true, Rogan wouldn't have let this happened. There must be something else to this. Don't worry mom, I will get it checked and fix this as soon as possible. Alright, you take care of yourself, I will get back to you soon," I reassured my mother at the end of the phone call.

"Why is this happening? I thought you assured me that our annulment wouldn't affect my father's company?" I stormed into Rogan's office and demanded an answer.

"Woah... wait a minute, just what is this about?" He stood up with a confused look.

"Don't tell me you don't know that the Leclaires are now embroiled in an investigation for fraudulent crimes because of the Morgans? Just what is happening, Rogan?" My voice started breaking up from the immense worries I had for my father and my family.

"Hang on a second, I... I honestly don't know what is this about," Rogan blinked hard and stuttered in stress when he sees me breaking down in front of him.

"For god's sake, my father just had a stroke because of this!" I ran my hand through my hair in frustration.

For a moment, I felt giddy from the agitation.

"Juliette!" He immediately grabbed onto me before I fell back on the ground.

"Just sit over here first. Don't worry, I will get this all figured out," He soothed me in his arms.

*Romeo Morgan's POV*

"You did this, didn't you?!" I pulled Oswald by the collar and gritted in full angst at him."Did what?" He feigned ignorance until I toss the documents on the table right in front of him."Well, I wasn't expecting Owen to have used the Leclaires to dodge this one," He exasperated without a streak of remorse.

"How dare you take action behind my back?! Didn't I told you to wait?" I swung a deserving punch to his face.

He picked himself from the ground and spat before he snickered, "So now this is my fault?! If you hadn't been too busy with that bitch of yours, I wouldn't have to take things into my own hands. Do you think I don't know that you are having second thoughts about bringing down the Morgans because of her? Because you intend to settle for a life of being your brother?!

"You're pathetic!" He scorned.

"I don't need you to teach me what to do! Look at the mess that you have done now?! Every single time, you're always f**k things up! Now I see why my mother never chose you," I retorted.

"How dare you speak of that?!" He barged towards me and pinned me against the wall."Why can't I?" I gritted.

"I'm your father!" He roared.

I snickered in response, "I'm no son of yours. I'm not a loser like you, you shouldn't have existed."

He loosened his grip on me and said, "Well, you're no better yourself."

No, I am not. I'm different, Juliette is different, we will not be like them.

Jared's POV

"I'm guessing you know why you're here, to put out a fire you started?" I scorned at Rogan for the sudden news I received about the Leclaires. I don't know what exactly happened, by the Morgans definitely had something to do with it.

"I've got no time for your sarcasm, I need you to pull out the following documents now," He dismissed my remark as he pushed a note over to me.

I took a look at it and realised the documents he wanted were highly classified data in the Morgans Company which was password encrypted by Romeo when he was the CEO. He further tightened the security of these documents by adding clause that requires the signature of the CFO for clearance. Technically, no one else can access these documents, other than himself.

"I'm afraid that's not within my access," I rejected his request.

He falls silent and twisted his lips before picking up a pen and writing off on the paper."Do it," He commanded as he pushed the paper over to me.

"What is this?" I asked in bafflement as I looked at the alphanumeric characters on the paper.

"The password to access these documents," He said.

"How did you know this?" I exclaimed in disbelief.

"Romeo told me. Come on, Jared, I don't have the whole day to do this. Please, I need these documents to help the Leclaires," He pleaded in exasperation.

I am surprised that he got to hear from Romeo, after all, he hasn't been contactable ever since his sudden resignation. As much as Rogan sounded dubious, I decided to take a leap of faith in his words since this matter concerns the Leclaires.

"Alright, I will get to it now," I responded reluctantly as I got onto my computer.

"Thank you," He said as he rested his arms onto the table and started spinning the pen in his hand, a mannerism which is of an uncanny resemblance to Romeo whenever he is feeling uptight.

For a fraction of a second, I had my suspicion about the Rogan before me. He doesn't really seem exactly like himself lately...

"Romeo?" I tried my luck and called out to him to test his reaction.

"Yea?" His eyes met mine immediately as he responded and then within a split second his eyes shifted quickly before he straightened his back against the seat and asked, "What did you call me?"

"Nothing, sorry, it was just a slip of my tongue. Here you go, I have authorised your access with my signature." I dismissed his question as I showed my computer screen to him.

"Alright, thank you, I shall take my leave now." He said and left for the door in wide strides hurriedly.

Gosh... I smell trouble.

Juliette Leclaire's POV

"Honey, I'm back, where are you?" I heard Rogan's voice from a distance while I was packing my luggage to leave for Chicago.

"I'm here," I shouted.

"Where are you going?" He asked with a flustered look.

"Sorry, I haven't had the time to tell you, but I have booked a flight ticket back to Chicago tomorrow morning. I need to visit my father in the hospital, I can't stop worrying about him and my family's company," I exasperated in stress.

"No, honey, you don't have to go. I have already got this somewhat settled on my end. I have also arranged for a specialist to give your father the best care. So don't you worry, I won't let anything bad happen to you or your family. Please... stay, I don't feel safe letting you out of my sight at this point in time, especially now that you are pregnant," He persuaded.

"I just can't get my mind off my father," I expressed my concern to him.

"Don't worry, don't let your thoughts run wild on you. Maybe you can start looking into our wedding to take your mind off this?" He suggested.

"Seriously? Rogan... I don't think this is a time to talk about a wedding, I'm in no mood for this," I gasped in disbelief at his suggestion.

He shook his head in disagreement, "No, the wedding is important too, we... we need to get married soon... to officiate our relationship which will also be of help to your family's company."

Then he took my hands and looked intently into my eyes with conviction, "Trust me, Juliette, I will make everything alright..."

I hesitated for a moment before agreeing to his suggestion as I hugged him, "Alright, I'm pinning my hopes on you, Rogan."

*The next day*

"Hey, what's up, Jared?" I picked up the phone call when I saw Jared buzzing me.

"Nothing much... just wanted to hear from you. How's everything going for you lately?" He sounded apprehensive in the way he spoke.

"Thank you for having me in your thoughts. Well, everything is fine, my baby is fine too. You don't sound like yourself, are you sure you're okay..?" I hinted to him.

He falls silent for a brief moment before coughing out his concern, "Well, I was just wondering if you noticed anything different about Rogan lately?"

Jared's question definitely got me winded up in concern as I replied worriedly to him, "Why did you ask this? Is there something going on with Rogan lately?"

"I don't know how to explain this, it's just a hunch feeling, something tells me Rogan hasn't been himself lately... But then again, it could be just a wild thought of mine, don't mind me," Jared tried to pacify me by brushing off his concern.

"Well, now that you speak about it... I do somehow agree with you on this but I just can't quite put my finger on it..." I replied.

"Er... Are you trying to say he seems to remind you of someone else?" Jared asked.

I rubbed my chin and thought hard about Jared's comment.

"Romeo?" He said. A sudden electrifying wave of chill travelled down my back upon hearing that.

"No, no, no, this is insane... this is ridiculous," I laughed off hard and dismissed his concern.

I took a deep breath and decided to throw this haunting thought out of the window for my sanity.

*A few days later*

"Hi, this is Juliette speaking," I answered my phone in bafflement when an unknown number flashed.

"Hi there, this is Detective Steven Cavani, I'm calling you from the Michigan State Police Department. We require your assistance in our investigation of a kidnap case," A man voice came through on the other end of the phone.

"A kidnap case?" I exclaimed in bafflement.

"Yes, your sister, Ms Julius Leclaire is currently with us now. She claims in her statement that she has been held in captive ever since 15th May. She came to us straight right after she managed to escape from her captor. She tried to contact her parents but it was to no avail, and so she said to reach out to you instead. Could I trouble you to make a trip down now?"

"Alright, sure, I will come over now," I replied hurriedly as I went into a state if full-blown panic upon this sudden news of Julius.

*At the police station*

"Julius! Are you alright?! Are you hurt anywhere? Just what happened to you?" I was near to breaking down in tears of relief and anxiety upon the sight of my sister.

She whimpered in relief upon the sight of me and then she recounted to me in a state of fluster, "I'm alright... Everything just happened so fast, I still don't know exactly why this happened, but I think the Morgans are involved in this. We need to let mom and dad know about this as soon as possible, let them steer as far away as possible from the Morgans. You should stop working for them too."

"Hold on a second, Julius, just what exactly happened to you, how did you end up being captured on the day of the wedding?" I asked as I tried to calm her down.

"So many things happened that day... First was Romeo telling me he wanted to call off the wedding because he was in love with you, then just as I was about to look for you, I accidentally overheard a conversation that involves bringing down the Morgans, that the wedding was just a hoax. The man whom I overheard his conversation knocked me out and I ended up being held in captive till now," She explained, still in an unstable state of mind.

"Do you still remember who that man is?" The detective asked.

Julius squinted her eyes hard as she tried to recall.

"Oswald! That's right, his name is Oswald!" Julius bolted out his name upon the recollection of it."Oswald? Isn't that Mr Owen Morgan's twin brother?" I gasped.

"Yes, his name is Oswald, I heard Romeo said it, oh wait, no... that man who came to save me isn't Romeo? He looked exactly like Romeo, but he had a pair of hazel eyes... and he was calling me Juliette at first when he was untying me," She explained in stutters.

My hands turned cold as it trembled uncontrollably at what she said.

"That can't be... Rogan would have told me if he found you..." I muttered to myself in disbelief."Rogan? Is that Romeo's brother? So that man who saved me is Rogan? No wonder they looked alike," Julius said.

"Julius, when did this happen? What happened to him then?! Didn't you say he was there to save you, why were you still held in captive till now?" My voice trembled as fear struck me."I don't know what happened, I was knocked out by Oswald when I tried to save Rogan from a gunshot. I think I remember seeing the month reflected on his watch when he tried to save me... it was... probably just slightly over three months ago from now...?"

Slightly over three months ago from now? Come to think about it, it was from then on that I felt something was amiss about Rogan... That night when he came back home from unanswered calls... Shit! What if Jared was right about his guess?

I lowered my hands to my belly and began to feel sick to my guts at the possible daunting truth, that the child that I'm carrying is not...

Just where is my Rogan?

The thought of that sends my heart with a blow of worries mangled with anxiety."Juliette, how's mom and dad? Are they alright? Did the Morgans do anything to them?" Julius asked anxiously.

I shook my head in shame as I uttered to her with a stir of emotions in me, "Our company was just held under investigation of fraudulent crime... I don't know exactly what happened, but it seems like the Morgans have got something to do with it. Our father couldn't take the blow at the sudden news... he suffered a stroke, and he is now in hospital."

"What?! Oh my gosh... Juliette, you need to leave your job at the Morgans right now!" Julius ran her hands through her hair in anxiety.

"I... I can't... Julius, I need to send you to a safe place as soon as possible. It's not safe enough for you to return to our parents' side now, they might be watched. Until I figure out who exactly is responsible for these, you can't let your tracks be exposed, alright?" I cautioned Julius."Why can't you leave with me now?" Julius demanded.

"Julius... I'm married to the Morgans. Mom and dad had me replacing you for the wedding when both you and Romeo went missing. Somehow Rogan ended up being the substitute groom too. Long story short, I was married to Rogan and then all was well until Romeo suddenly returned... I know this sounds crazy but right now after hearing what you recounted, the husband that I'm living with now might not be Rogan... and this worries me to not know what has happened to him," My eyes turned wet as the fear of the unknown struck me hard once more.

"You mean... Romeo stole Rogan's identity? You think Romeo is behind this whole thing?" Julius gasped in shock.

"Julius... I don't know... I'm 3 months pregnant... shit," I cursed in vex.

"I'm... I don't know what to say to you, I'm sorry... Juliette," Julius stuttered as she hugged me and shared my woes.

"Don't worry, Mrs Morgan, we are here to help, please let us help you..." Detective Cavani reassured me.

*That night*

"Honey, good news, your family's company is no longer held under investigation. I have got it all sorted. Meanwhile, I will help out in the running of the company until your father recovers, I won't let anything happen to the Leclaires, so don't you worry, alright?" He chirped as he walked towards me upon returning
