Silas pov

I don't know how I did it but I did it.

I convinced Valencia to come over and let me help her fall back in love with reading. I'm freaking out because I still get so nervous around her. My heart wants to rip it's self out of my chest and fall into her hands

I feel horrible that she fell out of love with reading because of her brother's death. Her brother's death is the reason why she has so many walls up.

Maybe after today she won't always be so tense. She'll see that not everything is as bad as it seems. "Come on petal you can't back out now" I tell her she puts the book down letting out a deep breath. "You don't get it Silas" I sit next to her holding her hand.

"I do and I also know that apart of you wants to"

"That doesn't matter"

"Yes it does petal, you don't have to go far."

"You think Elesio would be mad I stopped?"

"No petal you needed to heal"

"Slow we can start slowly" I give her a smile nodding as she picks up the book I brought her touching the spine. I take mine, wanting to give her as much time as she needs. She opens the book flipping to the prologue. I can't even focus on my own book.

I watch her eyes light up with excitement as she reads through the page. She quickly flips to the next and the next a small smile on her face. Eventually I go back to my own book feeling lighter.

One step at a time.

"Silas" Valencias' sweet voice says I put my book down giving her my full attention. I can't read the emotion on her face. There's too many at the same time. She holds the book but her green eyes are looking into mine. I feel my heart starting to race a little bit. She gulps putting the book down while still looking at me. I wonder if I look nervous to her. I want to kiss her so bad. I want to feel how soft her lips are. I want to be addicted.

Just a little more.

Valencia D'Angelo, what have you done to me in a few short months?

She's so close to me. A little more and that's it. I'm not stopping her this time, I want it to happen but only if she lets me. She put the book to her side resting her forehead on mine. My eyes look into hers searching for permission. She gives me a quick nod before I attach our lips together.

Just like I predicted, her lips are so soft. They feel like a pillow, I need this to last forever. She deepens the kiss. I pull her onto my lap holding her hips. She runs her hands through my hair tugging at it lightly and I groan into her mouth. She melts into my arms. I flip us over so her back is on the couch while her legs go around my waist.

My hands travel up and down her waist she whimpers into my mouth grinding her hips into mine. I'm already painfully hard, this isn't helping it. Her hands go to my shirt removing it, her eyes traveling around my body. Her fingers tracing the abs on my stomach going up to the tattoos.

"You surprise me each day" A smile comes to my face. She rests her forehead on mine, our lips inches apart again. Her green eyes filled up with different emotions. The rain starts to hit the windows harder and she lets out a deep breath.

She places her lips back onto mine but jumps when lightning strikes. "Woah what's wrong petal?" She doesn't say anything, she just looks down in embarrassment. "Valencia what's wrong?"

"No, it's embarrassing and I just ruined the moment. Just forget about it" She stands up and I take her arm pulling her back down to me. "You didn't ruin the moment, petal, are you afraid of lighting?" She nods letting out a deep breath.

"When Elieso died it was thundering. The rain was about to start and then when the car hit us lighting started happening. I've never liked thunder or lightning after that"

"It is not embarrassing that you don't like thunder or lightning. A lot of people don't like it , we're inside now and we're safe. I got you petal, I promise" I bring her to my room where she lays down next to me. She moves into my arms and I press a kiss on her forehead.

"Don't worry I got you petal I got you"
