Silas pov

I am way hungover.

Niovis birthday was yesterday and we all went back to a club again. I got drunk to my ass but now it's friday. Great November 24th, the only good thing is that nonno gave the whole school off from wednesday till next monday.

There are people from all over the world here and some of them celebrate thanksgiving so they flew home to America. We don't celebrate it over here but nonnos all for accommodating to anyone and making everyone feel included.

"Dude, I need a painkiller, do you have any?" Orion comes in looking like a mess. "As you can see from my medicine drawer no I don't" He groans throwing himself on my couch.

"Where's Niovi?"

"Sleeping in my bed"

"Shit you had the balls to finally take her there?"

"Yeah we made out a lot but we were both drunk as hell so I helped her change and we went to sleep"

"Finally"

"Okay i'm getting out of here before she wakes up" He leaves the room before I can even say anything. I take out my blender and start to make my hangover smoothie. I figured out how to make it when I was 16. It's been a lifesaver after that.

The sound of the blender makes my head pound more but once I start drinking it I feel it going away. This shit is like a gift from the gods. My door opens Valencia walks in yawning her hair let down but frizzy. Her eyes tired almost as if she hadn't been up for more than 5 minutes. Good thing I always make extra smoothies.

"Morning Petal" She gives me a lazy smile. I put the drink in front of her. "What's this?" She questions swirling it around. "Hangover smoothie, trust me gets rid of it fast" She takes a straw from the drawer drinking it. I go into my room getting my glasses and my current read.

Sitting next to Valencia she looks up from her phone looking at the book. "You read every stupid chance you get" She groans putting her cup in the sink.

"One day i'll make you fall in love with reading again" Valencia scrunches her nose shaking her head. "I'll always keep the books because they remind me of him but reading I don't know Silas" Her hand almost on top of mine I feel it starting to get sweaty.

She moves closer to me sitting on the stool. "You guys want to go to the pool? Don't worry Silas your grandfather already said as long as we don't trash the place that we can go in" Orion says Valencia agrees right away leaving the room.

"Dude just tell her you like her" Orion closes the door I run my hands through my hair tugging at it. "I can't when I try I freak out and say something random. Last time I tried to tell her I literally shouted that the grass is green. She thought I was high." Orion burst out in laughter holding his stomach.

He keeps laughing tears rolling down his face. "Shit Silas, you really need to learn to talk to her." Yeah no shit. I never had good communication. I simply blame that on my parents leaving me. I remember that day so clearly and I was only 5.

My 'dad' said we were going to the store. It was one of the first times they let me go with them. Usually they would leave me at home alone. I was excited because I thought things would change. When we pulled into Nonno's drive way I realized we weren't going to the store anymore. They told me to go inside and wait for them there.

I didn't see my parents for three years after that.

I thought I had done something wrong. It was easier to stay quiet than to have another person leave my life. On my 8th birthday my parents came back and when I asked to live with them they told me that I was holding them back from living their life.

I'd never depend on them for anything anymore. There is no need to yes I had my grandparents but I learned to do shit on my own terms. When everyone was running to mommy and daddy I went to my thoughts. It wasn't the best but it's what I could do.

Who knows what my life would have been if my parents didn't leave me.

Putting on my swimming trunks I get my towel putting it over my neck. "Why are you always one of the last people to get ready?" Emira says when I leave my room. I shrug walking with them downstairs. The pool is closed. You need a code to open it. When I text nonno he sends it to me right away.

Perks of having him as my grandfather.

Vadik is the first to jump in followed by Larissa. I throw my shirt on the chair diving in the cool water feeling great. It's getting colder outside but for November it's still warm. Global warming is killing us all. I see Valencia taking her time taking off her things.

Valencia takes off her shirt revealing her black bathing suit top. When she turns around I see the scar she told me about. It goes from under her shoulder blade down to the side of her stomach. Her tattoos are a little more visible now. She has rose petals falling down on the side of her ribs, she has a crescent moon on the side of her hip. I think my favorite is the on her arm it's a fine line of a girl reading a book with flowers sprouting out of it. Under it has handwriting, it might be her brothers.

I've only seen a glimpse of it, seeing the whole thing it looks even more beautiful. "Stop staring, you look like a love sick puppy" Vadik says I roll my eyes huffing.

"Encia you're the only one not in the water" Emira tells her she just rolls her eyes. "Do you not know how to swim?" Niovi asks Valencia who just rolls her eyes. "I know how to swim, I'm just you know waiting" I swim to her side. Emira and Niovi get the hint.

"Yes loverboy?" Encia gives me a smile. My hands go on the side of her hips as I stand in between her legs. "Now don't keep me lonely in the water" I give her a smirk seeing a light blush come to her face.

"I'm with you right now aren't I?" Smartass

"You know what I mean Petal" She laughs slowly going in the water. Her hair tied back in a bun strands sticking out from the back with all her freckles on display. "There you happy now," I nod, placing a kiss on her cheek.

"Can you guys stop being all lovey dovey come on, we're trying to play chicken" Khnos says with Emria on his shoulders. "You ready petal?" She nods as I go under water feeling her get on my neck. I hold her hips and she holds onto my shoulders. Vadik and Larissa come our way laughing.

"Silas don't drop me" Valencia says I hold her hips tighter as she tries to knock down Larrisa. I try to hold my grip on her but all 4 of us go tumbling down. I pull her to my chest as we go underwater, her arms around my neck when we go back to the surface. "I told you don't drop me" She laughs giving me a gorgeous smile.

"I caught you though"

"Come on lovebirds we want a rematch" Vadik throws water on us I go underwater letting Valencia go on my neck again. This is all we need. We don't need anyone else right now.

Just the 8 of us is enough to last a lifetime.
