"Tomorrow is Sakusa's birthday, I wanna do something for him" you said to your mom. "Oh my god it's tomorrow?? Why didn't you tell me earlier I need to get him gifts!" she said as she hurried to get her purse and jacket. "Gifts as in plural??? I only get one though" you said in disbelief.
"Honey, I love you but Sakusa holds a special place in my heart" she said before running out of the house.

to get stuff for Sakusa's birthday?

Sure, meet u at the station in 15.

Sakusa was walking up to your house when he saw you leave and head the way to the train station. He called you and you picked up.

"Hey babe, where are you right now?" he asked.
"Oh I'm-" shit. Think of an excuse. "I'm at the store with my mom right now".
Sakusa's face fell. Why would she lie about where she is?
"....alright. See you later then".
He walked back home, trying to think of reasons why you would lie about where you were.

You met up with Komori and bought all kinds of things Sakusa liked and then you stopped when you saw something in the window of a shop. "Komori.... I need to get him them" you said.

"Woah they're so cool. Expensive though, you sure?"
You nodded, heading in.
"I need those" you said, pointing to the thing you saw.
The shop assistant nodded and went into the back.

You skipped home, hands full of bags. "You're gonna fall" Komori laughed. "You think he'll like them?" you asked.
"He'll love anything you give him but those are just amazing."

Komori helped you bring the stuff inside your house before leaving. You told him to be there tomorrow and he agreed.

You woke up extra early to get everything ready and at 2 everyone arrived.
"Okok everyone, go into the kitchen. I'll go get him" you said. They complied and you ran over to Sakusa's house.

"Oh hey y/n" Himari greeted you.
"Hiya Himari. Is Sakusa here?"
"Yeah he's upstairs, go ahead" she said.
You thanked her and skipped up to his room, opening the door with a smile but it faded when you saw Sakusa, still in bed looking disheveled.

"Omi what's wrong? Are you okay?" you asked, rushing over to him.
He looked away, out the window as if he couldn't look at you.
"Y/n, tell me the truth okay. Why did you lie about where you were yesterday? I-if I'm not enough for you please just tell me" he mumbled. Your eyes widened in shock.

"Oh my god, Kiyoomi no. You're more than enough for me. Too good for me even" you said, hugging him.
"I went to go buy presents for you because it's your birthday. You can even ask Komori, he helped me carry the stuff" you said.
"I love you so much, nobody could ever amount to you" you assured him.

Sakusa finally hugged you back tightly. "Sorry... I don't know why I got so emotional" he said after a while.
"It's okay Omi, don't worry about it." you said, kissing his cheek.
He chuckled a little. "I feel so nasty right now. I need a shower".
"Go ahead, I'll wait for you." You said.

He stood up and walked to the door, pausing.
"I love you. A lot".

You smiled at his words, not believing how you could be so lucky as to have someone like him in your life.
After a while he came back in the room and got changed into the shirt you got him and some nice joggers.

"Let's go to my house, I have a surprise for you" you said.
"Okay.." he said, wary of what this 'surprise' was.

You led him into the sitting room where everything was laid out perfectly. "Woah. This is.... a lot. It can't all be for me" he said incredulously.
"Well I-"

Bokuto burst out the door, shocking Sakusa. "I'm sorry y/n! I tried to be quiet but I really have to pee" he babbled before running into the bathroom.
You heard Kuroo's hyena laugh coming from the kitchen, followed by Akaashi, Komori and Kenma's snickering.
You sighed but you couldn't help but laugh. "You guys had one job" you giggled.

"Mission failed, we'll get em next time" Kuroo laughed.
"You're all here... for me?" Sakusa asked.
"Hmmm id say 10% for you and 90% for the food" Kuroo joked.
Sakusa rolled his eyes and chuckled.

Bokuto came back into the room apologising for ruining the surprise but Sakusa assured him that he surprised him more than enough.

"Let's eat!" Bokuto announced, grabbing a plate and digging in.
Everyone else followed suit, even Kenma which was rare.
"Thanks... everyone for being here" Sakusa said after a while.
Bokuto slapped his back with a proud smile.
"No problem! That's what friends do after all".

Sakusa's eyes widened. It was only at this moment that he realised he actually had a lot of good friends. And an even better girlfriend though he already knew that.
Sakusa opened their presents, getting a travel size cleaning set from Akaashi and a brand new volleyball with the Itachiyama colours on it from Bokuto. Kuroo got him a chain because
"it adds swag" and Kenma got him a console game.
"You can open my present later" you whispered. Sakusa nodded and thanked everyone.

At about 8pm everyone left to catch their train and you brought Sakusa up to your room where his present was.

You handed him the box, feeling a bit shy. "Sorry if you don't like them... I thought they were really cool" you mumbled as he unwrapped the shoebox.

His eyes lit up when he opened the box and a wide smile appeared on his face. "I've been wanting to get these but none of the shops had them. How did you find them?" he asked you excitedly.
"I saw them in the window of a shop yesterday" you said, glad he liked them.
He pulled you into a long kiss, hands at your waist.
"You're the best" he whispered. You kissed him again, backing up until you fell onto the bed, Sakusa towering over you.
His hands ghosted over your thighs as he kissed you lovingly.
His touch was intoxicating and you wanted more.

But apparently fate wasn't gonna let that happen cos you heard the front door bang and your mother's voice calling you.

Sakusa sat up quickly and you sighed in frustration. You both walked down the stairs and your mother gave Sakusa a big hug, saying happy birthday.
"I got you presents!" she said excitedly, producing three parcels.

"You didn't have to-" Sakusa started but your mother stopped him. "You're an amazing person and you've been so good to y/n. You deserve more than this honestly".
Sakusa smiled and unwrapped the presents. One was a new tracksuit set, another was a watch that had to have been expensive. The last one was a framed photo of you and Sakusa as kids.

"I found this when I was going through some old photo albums and thought it was so cute" she said. The photo was of you in a sundress, holding Sakusa's hand trying to comfort him while he was crying because a spider was on his arm.
You burst out laughing and Sakusa glared at you. "I need to bury this" he said. "No way! The world needs to see this glorious photo" you laughed.
He sighed but smiled at the photo. "I think even then I was in love with you" he mumbled.

"Hm? Did you say something?" you asked him.
"...no".
