The place was huge, almost castle ball-like. The place is decorated by transparent balloons with golden strings as handle. The middle of the (let's just call it ballroom) ballroom is also decorated in balloons that is arranged like a chandelier. It's quite fantastic actually, especially that it is so bright that it lights up the ballroom. The tables are decorated in white cloth with violet roses that are put together and a candlelight stand in the middle.(AN: forgive me for not describing that good)

Everyone is littering around, holding glasses of wine or just merely chatting. Judging by the looks, most are rich people; designer gowns, expensive jewelry, earrings that seems too heavy for the ear to carry.

It's a wonder their ears didn't grow long like an elephant due to those heavy earrings they wear.

I also notice that there are most teenagers around my age, most are males and seems to be that they are some sort of heir for companies.

"Alexandrielle, thank god you came just in time." Nanny appeared behind me looking relieved. She is dressed in a simple white gown. Not too fancy but she looks so elegant in it.

"I'm always in time, Nanny" I told her with a gentle smile.

She waved me off "That's not what I meant. Carry on, we should go and I'll tell you everything on the way" she said while pulling me.

"Wait! What's going on? How about Jane here? I can't leave her alone" I told her and she looked confused for a moment before looking back at Jane who is looking terrified.

Nerds and their anxiety. I can already sense it.

"Don't worry, I'll have Edmund escort him to your band. They'll keep her in company while you're away. But for now, we should go. You'll be with her after everything is done." She told me as Edmund escorted Jane away.

"Jane don't worry. The guys will protect you. They're decent and kind. You'll love them. Just wait for me, OK?" I assured her and she nodded uncertainly.

Nanny walked me to a hallway as if rounding the ballroom. She explained to me what the occasion is, that the occasion is to celebrate my eighteenth birthday. It's my debut that's why company heirs are here to see me. Just as I thought.

She also told me that I am going to be introduced as daughter of The Riley's Shipping Company. They won't tell yet that I am going to be betrothed to Zach Harrison, soon to be heir of the Dominant Incorporation.

Opening up a huge two-sided door, I was greeted by my mom's pacing in the room while gritting her nails.

Agitated ass.

"Shocker" I deadpanned at them. They're going to make an occasion for me and they didn't notify me?! Unbelievable!

Mom looked at me up and down in shock "You did great in your appearance" she mused in wonder.

I rolled my eyes. "It's not only you who has taste, you know?" I retorted.

She just shook her head and she repeated what is already informed to me.

At last, the announcer announced me and I walked out from the beautiful curtains that is keeping me from view. All cheered while I noticed some guys staring at me in amazement.

Mom and Dad joined me on stage as dad linked his arms on mine. I nearly made a face of disgust but I know it'll humiliate him and the company so I didn't.

They made their hell-bored long speech, talking like proud parents who is so blessed to have such a wonderful daughter like me. Yeah right!

After their speech and other announcement, I finally breathed in relief when I am released.

I swear the air is fresher now...even though the ballroom is filled with air conditioners.
