Swimming out of the water, I wiped the water on my face.

"Whoo! Wasn't that fun?" Liz asked me cheekily and I laughed. I totally forgot she's so old. How come she can move and act like a girl in her early twenties?

"I nearly forgot that you're old" I commented as I sat at the edge of the pool, dripping wet.

"What? You're thinking that I act younger than my age that makes you forget I am old?" She asked and I nodded, laughing. I guess her plan worked to cheer me up.

"Oh you naughty child!" She splashed some water at me while I just laugh at her.

Two guys, passed by to go to the garage and Liz called them up.

"Dan! Sam! Pool party!" She called out and both of them gave her a weird look, I gave her that look too of course. She's a weird but amazing woman. No wonder she can endure Zach. Talking about Zach...

Snap out of it, Lex! Don't think about that yet.

Both guys looked at me as if to ask permission and I gave them a smile. Both of them shared excited looks before dropping what they're holding and running to the pool. I laughed.

"There should be drinks" the brown haired guy said.

"And snacks" the blonde one continued with a goofy smile.

"I'll go get it" I volunteered but someone beat me to it. "I'll go. What do you guys want me to bring?" Janet appeared with her hands behind her.

Something nagged at me but I brushed it off, not letting it to ruin my temporary joy.

"Drinks and snacks" was all the guys say before she is off, putting her hands in front of her. Something shiny glimmered in her hands but I just thought it must be a trick of the light.

After a while of swimming with Janet's constant flirting with the Sam guy which is the brown haired one and is not far from her age, they finally dispersed going back to their work.

Being last to get out of the pool, I grabbed the bathrobe from the tanning chair. Going back to the chair where I left my clothes, my necklace is missing.

"Liz? Liz! Dan? Sam!" I called out as Dan emerged from the kitchen.

"Yes ma'am?" He asked as he avoided looking at me.

"First of all, call me Lex and second, did you see any jewelry around?" I asked and he frowned in confusion.

"What jewelry exactly ma-I mean, Lex?" He corrected himself.

"It is a necklace with pure white pearl and a royal pendant. Can you please help me find it?" I asked and he nodded.

"I'll inform the others" he said before leaving.

Heading up the stairs with Dan's voice calling Sam and the others, my heart jumped in my throat when the door to our room is unlocked. I expected it to be locked but of course it didn't happen.

Pushing the door open, my heart practically lurched in my throat. The bedsheets are torn and thrown. The walls have cracks in it in various sizes, blood smudging all over. Shuddering, is Zach that angry to me? Then...was it possible that...he'll still be angry at me when he comes back?

Shaking my head, I headed to the closet which is surprisingly neat. Wheeew!

Opening my side of the closet, I was surprised when I saw one missing. Getting back to the room, I threw the only pillow that stayed in place and found it there. Sniffing it, it smells like Zach along with a tinge of saltiness...tears.

Maybe he doesn't mean it? Hopefully.

Changing into a pair of black jeans and pink tee-shirt, I headed down the stairs.

4:23 my phone says and I shrugged while looking for Liz.

"What do you mean?"

"Look, I'm not sure OK? But Janet's acting weird and I don't have to be smart to know she's hiding something"

"It also appeals with ma'am Lex's missing jewelry. Did she...?"

"What's going on guys?" I asked as I stared at them scrutinizingly.

All of them looked nervous before I told them to tell me. They told me all their observations, their sights, what they notice about her; leading us to conclude that Janet has to do with my missing jewelry.

"Mrs. Poppins, the plants are ready" all heads snapped towards Janet and I couldn't help but send a glare her way. She noticed and she rolled her eyes at me. What a bitch!

"Janet, can I have a word with you?" I asked and she gave me a fake obedient nod. My other side itching to teach her respect.

"Uhhm...we'll just check on something" Dan and Sam excused themselves, sending me a knowing look which means they'll do the plan to check her belongings.

Once out of sight, I crossed my arms over my chest "Care to tell me if you have seen my necklace?" I asked with my dominant voice.

"I don't know what the hell you are saying" she told me defiantly and both Liz and I glared at him.

"Then what were you hiding when you volunteered to get the snacks?" I asked her accusingly and she sputtered...lying.

"I-I wasn't hiding anything" she denies and I rolled my eyes.

"Better tell the truth now Janet before I do something to you. Zach may tolerate you because your father is a close friend of his but I won't. You're in a house of two dominants who you haven't witnessed our capabilities yet. So I suggest you tell the truth and change that attitude because god forgive me I might kill you" I postured myself at her, letting her know how serious I am and how truthful I'll be in my warning.

Her shoulders slouched down but she raise her head "That's all you know, destruction. You don't deserve to have him as your husband. He deserves someone else than a money-sucking girl from a money-sucking pathetic family."

My hands shook at my sides as I will myself not to hurt her...yet.

"Ma'am Lex!" Dan and Sam appeared in the doorway with my necklace on Dan's hand and what I saw on Sam's hand really boiled my blood to million degrees.

That was the box Manager Kurt gave me on my thirteenth birthday where I put my bracelets on. I put it on the desk in our room the day I unpacked and only Janet cleans our room. That bitch of a thief!

Slapping her hard on the face, it sent her on the ground with a loud thud.

Grabbing her head and pulling it back, I growled lowly at her ear. "You are right. We only know about destruction, and we won't hesitate to destroy such a low life like you who doesn't appreciate the help her master is giving her" that being said, I almost beat her to death with the ambulance coming to pick her almost dead body.
