"We got your room back to its old state, I thought you'd like it. How long are you staying anyway? I want to spend some time with you, you know?"

"Why?" I asked her even though I didn't look at her. I mean, why is she acting like this? Why is she suddenly concern about me? Why does she suddenly care?

"What do you mean? Can't I spend some time with you now?" She asked and I felt her glance at me.

"Why suddenly care?" I asked while looking out of the window.

She sighed sadly. "There are things...you shouldn't know yet. I can see you and Zach got into a misunderstanding and I know you're not that emotionally stable yet so...it is better you should not know"

"Why shouldn't I? Is it about the engagement?" I asked her and she shook her head.

"No...it's...deeper than that. Far deeper" she murmured and I sighed. There's no way I'll be knowing what the hell it is.

Looking out of the window again, Zach's messy appearance flashed in my eyes and I shut them tightly. I feel my eyes watering before opening them up and blinking rapidly to get rid of these tears. Zach wouldn't do that right? He loves me, and that's the only thing I'm holding onto.

"Uhhm...Alexandrielle?" Mom asked nervously as she passed through the gates. Jack, the head bodyguard waved at me with a smile and I only managed a small one.

After parking the car in the front door, I just took my bags from the trunk and swing them on my shoulder. While walking to the door with my mom waiting for me, I caught a glimpse of a red Ford Everest parked in the open garage.

My heart started beating rapidly. What's that car doing here? No! Maybe that car is just another car and not from someone I am thinking. But boy, I was wrong. Getting inside of the house, I was greeted by no other than a girl with black bouncy hair, brown eyes, curvy and sexy but not as tall as me....Skylar.

"Skylar" I murmured in shock and she gave me the smile boys would faint for.

"Alexandrielle!" She said happily before running up to me and hugging me.

I just stood there, still as a statue. Heck! I'm not even breathing anymore!

I can't believe it. Why is Skylar here? What is she doing here? Her, of all people?

"What are you doing here?" My voice came out harsher than intended.

She pulled back at me shocked. "I...I'm visiting you" she said as she looked at me as if she looking at a stranger and not someone who cares and protects her so deep before. I couldn't blame her.

*****

*Skylar's POV*

I looked at her shock, wondering why she's acting like that to me. Looking back in the past, I couldn't blame her. I deserve it.

She's been my bestfriend for years. Not only that, she's like my twin; the one that understands me and the one that I can open up to without her judging me. She's also my protector. When we were in our puberty and early teenage years, boys are plague to us. They always hit on us, especially me because well...we're the beauties of the school. Both of us look a lot like each other. Long black shiny hair, brown eyes - her's is darker, petite frame, perfect curves and goddess-like features. Both of us got along greatly and we are each other's first best friends. She protects me from them, taking me away when she sense something bad. Even at times when there are gangs that tries to kidnap me, she is always the one that saves me.

I was a transferee that time when we first met. I didn't have friends because girls are too jealous of me, and my old friends fooled me and turned their backs at me. While her? She doesn't have friends because she is a dominant. In my first day, I heard lots and lots of horrible stories about her. And sadly, I believe them.

Flashback...

"Be sure to behave sweetie!" My dad called out to me as I gave him a flying kiss.

"I will dad" I called back before rushing to the school doors.

I am so excited. New school, new life, new friends! I can't wait to meet new ones. Hopefully, I won't have to befriend those fake ones.

Taking a deep breath in, I walked inside.

Here we go!
