Emily approves my dress, because it used to belong to or mother, Penny Young. I am going to Bella's birthday party that Alice Cullen is throwing at the Cullen place.

"Today is Bella's 18th birthday." I sigh. "And i was invited to the birthday party the Alice is throwing her."

"You'll be fine, you like the Cullen's." Emily says gently. "Go on, I'm sure Rosalie will be pleased to see you."

Paul gives me a kiss on the forehead. "If anything goes down, tell us."

"I'll tell Sam, because he's alpha." I shrug. "Already know the procedure."

Paul kisses me gently on the lips before letting me out the door. I slide into my Impala and I drive towards Forks doing the speed limit because I don't feel like getting a ticket that I cannot afford to pay.

Rosalie hugs me right as I step out of the vehicle. Her dress is slick and black. Her hair is down and wavy. Rosalie takes in my attire and she leads me inside. The birthday celebration is being held on the main floor, where everyone but Edward and Bella stand.

"Where is the guest god honor?" I ask nobody in particular.

"Edward is driving her here from school." Emmett replies. "They are stopping by her house first, then coming here."

I nod my head and I notice everyone dressed nicely. Esme is standing beside Carlisle, looking like a golden couple and like a couple of models. Rosalie has made her way to be next to Emmett, those two are made for each other. Alice is perched on Jasper's lap.

Edward sands with Emmett on the stairs when he arrives with the guest of honor, Bella. Bella seems envious and nervous about my being here.

"Present time!" Alice chirps as she slips up to the nervous girl.

Rosalie hands Bella a small box. "It's a necklace, Alice picked it out."

My eyes are wide as I stare at the scene of blood and broken glass, and a dark eyed Jasper. Emmett noticed the fear and he steps in my way of seeing.

"Let me drive you to La Push." Emmett whispers. "I'll run back."

"Let me call Sam first." Carlisle sighs. "I'm sorry you had to see that, Brandi. Jasper is new to our animal blood diet."

Carlisle leaves the room because I am speechless. Rosalie is staring at me with a pained expression. I guess she feels bad for me seeing all that action go down.

"Go ahead and drive her back to Forks in her car, and travel by foot back." Carlisle says from the stairs. "Sam gives his permission for you to pass, Emmett."

Emmett places his hand on the small of my back and he walks me out to my car. I sit in the passenger's seat of my car for the first time since I got it, and Emmett drives me home.

Sam thanks Emmett before pulling me further inside the house. Paul jumps up when he sees the fear written on my face.

"What happened?" He asks loudly, and I flinch.

"Paul!" Sam yells. "Stop yelling at her. I'll explain it. Brandi, go take a hot bath. Emily is cooking some comfort food for ya."

I nod smally before I go to the bathroom. I start the hot water before stepping out of my clothes. I sit in the steaming water before turning the knob to shut the water.

I grab a small plate of nachos and cheese before sitting next to Sam on the couch, Paul went home. Sam has Dracula playing, and I just stare at the screen.

"Really?" I laugh. "after what I just witnessed??"

Sam smiles innocently. "Want me to change it?"

"No, it's fine." I say as I eat my nachos. "I like this movie, despite what I just witnessed at the Cullen's."

Sam smiles. "Good, because I know you love this movie, I was hoping that turn of events didn't change your opinion of the Dracula movie."

I smile to myself as I watch the Dracula movie Sam got just for me. This movie was made back in the sixties, I think. I still love it, nonetheless. I think that it being an older movie is what lured me in to begin with.

Paul comes inside, obviously exhausted. "Dad is drunk. Again."

Paul lays his head on my lap when Sam moves to the arm chair across the room. I sigh before I run my fingers through Paul's hair. Emily walks in and she sits in Sam's lap, and we all watch the movie....

I go to my room when the movie ends, and I collapse on my bed. I stare at the ceiling, as the events of the day come in. I close my eyes for a minute as the aim drops hot the roof of this beautiful home.

My door being shoved open causes my eyes to snap open. A distraught Sam is sanding by my door.

"The Cullen's left; and Bella is missing." Sam says. "I'm going to Forks to find her, Jacob and Billy are gonna be there too."

I close my eyes, expecting this. "Okay. I'll get some sleep. I have school tomorrow."

"G'night, Brandi." Sam says before turning my light off and closing my door behind him as he leaves.

I curl up under my covers and I fall asleep.
