A/N: Over 2k reads!!! Ahh!! :D Thank you! It's the farthest I've ever gotten!
Anyway I hope you enjoy it! And I'm so sorry it took so long for me to post this one...😔 And also sorry for the large amount of dialogue, I guess when I think about different scenes in my head I picture them as a movie type of thing and I'm not the best at filling spaces...

---------------------------------------------------------

The rain kept pouring down with every second. Your vision was blurry as the droplets of water covered your eyes. You didn't realize you were crossing the street until you heard the noise of the cars buzzing by. They zoomed past you, but it was too late to turn back, so you kept walking. Seconds turned into minutes as you heard your heart beating against your chest. Eight year old you was all alone. And then it happened. Metal clashed with your skin and you were torn apart from the ground until you fell back against the concrete. You couldn't breathe, but then the world changed, you were... traveling back in time, and you felt yourself moving to the front of the car again. But before it could hit you one more time, a person covered in golden robes took you in their arms and through a... portal.

They placed you down on the floor of a temple and covered you in a towel. They turned out to be a she as she removed her hood. She took a tea pot and poured the warm liquid onto a cup. She handed it to you as she asked, "What's your name?"

"Y-Y/N..." When you finally calmed down, all the questions started to flow into your mind. "Who are you? What happened with the cars and the crash and-and-"

"Relax, child. You're fine now. I saved you."

"But how?"

She smiled, "It's complicated to explain. Let's start by introducing myself; I'm the Ancient One."

Ever since that day, she took care of you as if you were her daughter. After a long enough time, you began to forget about your real parents - especially since they abandoned you - and you started to consider her to be your mother. She taught you the secrets of the mystic arts, and even how to use them. Soon enough, you were teaching yourself behind her back, and you became her top and favorite student. Until it all changed.

Stephen Strange was his name. He had been in a car accident, like you would have been, and his hands were in a state that he could not tolerate. And you couldn't tolerate any of him. Mordo brought him in, he introduced himself to the Ancient One, and she kicked him out. Before you couldn't stand him, you were the one that convinced the Ancient One of teaching him. Mordo insisted with you, but you were always her best advisor.

"Thank you," he came up to tell you when he found out you were responsible for his entrance.

"It's no problem. You should thank Mordo, too, actually; he was the one that brought you here in the first place."

"Yes, of course, I already did, but I heard you had the major influence. Are you and the Ancient One close?"

"Yes. She's like the mother I never had. I would be dead by now if it wasn't for her," you looked away. You didn't like to think of what would have been if the Ancient One hadn't been there to save you.

"Oh... I'm sorry."

"Good! You're together! I wanted to announce something," the Ancient One said after she found you. "Y/N, I want you to train Stephen."

"What? No! I can't do that!" you responded.

"Y/N, there's something important going on that I have to take care of. I'm too busy to train Stephen right now and you're the best student I have."

"What's going on that's so important? Do you need my help?"

"Training Stephen is all the help you can provide."

You sighed, "Fine, I'll do it."

She hugged you, "I knew you would."

So, you were forced to train him, and it was fine at first. He wasn't too hard to train once he felt determined enough to learn; but after a while, he became too good. He started to steal books from the library, teach himself, and ignore your advice. During one of your training sessions, you couldn't handle it anymore.

While you were fighting, you stopped it midway, "Stephen, look, I can't keep teaching you if you won't listen to me."

"I do listen to you."

"What was my last advice?"

"Make sure you wear shoes without laces?"

"No! Why would I say that?"

"So I don't trip-"

"You don't listen to me! You don't care about our lessons anymore!"

"Well, sorry I do a better job at teaching myself than you do!"

"How dare you? You wouldn't be where you are now if it wasn't for me!"

"No, I would be better! You're just saying all that because you're afraid I'll pass you one day! That I'll become the next sorcerer supreme, and the Ancient One won't care about you anymore!"

Tears began to well up in your eyes, "You're right. You're right. 'Cause no one can be better than you, right? The almighty Doctor Strange! Let me get down on my knees and bow down to the great sorcerer supreme! How could I ever be like you? Oh, right I can't. Because you weren't nearly killed when you were eight. The Ancient One didn't save you and adopt you. You didn't become the best student in this entire temple. Because all of those things happened to me, Stephen! I deserve to be the next sorcerer supreme, not you!"

"Oh, so now you expect me to pity you? Is that it? Well, I don't! So go cry to your mother if that's what you want!"

You punched him square in the face and walked through a portal as he fell on the ground.

"I'm not going to teach him anymore," you stated to the Ancient One.

"Why not?"

"I hate him. I can't train him. Also, I may have punched him, so he might hate me, too."

"Where did you punch him?"

"Why is that impor-"

"Where did you?"

"Around his cheek, I guess. Why?"

"If you love him, you would avoid his nose and teeth." (Reference again! Although it's kind of hard to catch. I don't know why I keep referencing that one specific episode but whatever...)

You raised an eyebrow, "I don't love him."

"No, of course not," she winked. "But fine, if you mustn't train him, I will."

"No!" you wanted to prove her wrong. You didn't love him. "I'll keep teaching him."

She smiled and walked away. You returned to where you last saw Stephen and you caught him violently attacking a pole.

"What did that thing ever do to you?" you asked jokingly.

He turned around in surprise, and a tiny smile tugged at his lips. He was for some reason happy to see you.

"Oh, you should have seen it. It fully attacked me when I wasn't looking," he paused. "Look, Y/N, I'm sorry for what I said earlier, I-"

"I don't want to hear it. Let's just forget it ever happened."

"Fine by me."

You returned to tolerating each other after that, and life was back to normal. But things started to unexpectedly change one day. A new kind of feeling was growing... a feeling you had never felt before.

He made a weapon appear and attacked you, but you successfully dodged it, "You aren't so good now, are you Strange?"

He attacked you again and that time it hit you, but he came running to you as soon as it did, "I'm so sorry, are you okay?"

"I don't know... that really hurt, Stephen," you played with him. You assaulted him while he was distracted, and he fell to the ground. "Never let your guard down. It's one of the most basic lessons! You're losing your thunder..."

He got up, "No, I'm not. I can still take you down." The Cloak of Levitation left his shoulders and wrapped around you, as Stephen sneaked behind you and placed a knife on your neck.

You struggled under his and the cloak's grip, "That's not fair! You have one of the best relics!"

"It's not my fault it chose me instead of you. What, are you jealous?" he whispered in your ear, making you blush.

"No. I don't need a cloak when I have (insert random name)."

"One of the Ancient One's students?"

"Yep. He's a great kisser."

It was his turn to blush and he loosened his grip. You took that opportunity to your advantage and snaked your way out of the cloak. You attacked Stephen again, but that time he took you down with him and you landed on top of him.

"Wow, Stephen. I didn't know you felt that way about me..." you batted your eyelashes.

He rolled his eyes, "It was an accident."

"It's never an accident when (random name) does it. You could learn a thing or two from him."

"I'm much better than he is. If I tried, we would have already been dating."

"Oh, really? You're saying the Doctor Strange would succeed at dating me? I'd like you to test that theory."

"I'll not only test it, I'll prove it."

He got closer, but before he could do anything, you got up and he was left in an awkward position. "Look at you, kissing the air. So romantic."

"Would you stop that?"

"Why? So you can make me fall in love with you? Well, it's not gonna happen. (random name) and I have a pretty good thing going on."

"You're not dating him, are you?"

"Nope. But you believed it!"

"For like, five minutes!"

"But you still believed it!" you laughed. "It's fun to play with you."

"You're not controlling me."

"Really? 'Cause I think you're falling pretty hard for me."

He didn't like being played with; being at a disadvantage. You were the only one that could make him feel that way. And he liked it. He liked you. He decided he wasn't afraid to admit it.

"You're right. I'm falling for you. All of tough-loving you. How you play those games, and like to beat me at everything, and how you don't like to go easy on me because it's not how the real world works. As if I don't know that already. I'm crazy about you."

You weren't expecting that response, and it set you back. You never expected he would answer that way so you didn't know what to do, "What do you mean?"

He got closer and you stumbled as you walked backwards to get away from him, "Exactly what I said." You bumped against the wall behind you and he was left inches away from you, "Remember how you found me attacking that pole? I was so mad with myself about what I said, and the fact that I made you hate me."

"I don't hate you... I was just mad, but we're good now."

"We can be better," he got even closer.

"No, I don't love you. I can't love you."

He stepped back, "Why not?"

"I'm afraid I'll lose you..."

"You won't lose me."

"Well, what if one day I lose myself again and I end up in front of a car on a rainy day?"

"I won't let that happen. That's not going to happen ever again. I promise."

You hugged him, and cried into his chest. You looked up at him and the cloak wiped your tears away. You did love Stephen. He seemed to understand through the way you looked at him, and he shared the same feeling. Your lips met and you shared an adorable and passionate kiss.

A/N: So, um, I don't know what you thought of that... But at least it was longer than the others so yay!
