Stephen paced back and forth, hands shaking. He had forgotten how it felt until that moment. He was walking outside a hospital room, anxiously waiting for any news. It all happened so quickly; he didn't know if he was ready to take on such an important moment in his life. As he kept pacing, he replayed the scene in his head. It was somehow calming; he was so anxious in those few minutes, but it didn't compare to what he was feeling right then.

He was meditating at the temple and you slowly approached him. You sat in front of him and gave him a kiss on the lips to let him know you were there. He smiled, with his eyes still closed and asked, "Is everything alright?"

"Yeah, everything's fine I just... well, I have some news," you answered, biting your lip.

"What size of news?"

"Big ones."

He opened his eyes, "Should I be sitting- wait I'm already sitting."

"Are you starting to get nervous without even hearing the news?"

"Well you said they were big. So, what are they?"

"How would you feel if I told you that something is growing inside me?" You looked away, afraid that his expression would show some sort of disappointment.

"Disease or baby?"

"B-baby."

He grew a huge smile as big as the Cheshire cat and hugged you so hard you fell backwards. "Wait, baby remember?!" you shouted.

"Oh, right, sorry!"

Those few minutes were some of the happiest of his life, including the times when he could feel the baby kick through your bump, but he could have waited a little longer for you to give birth. Because of his years at work in hospitals, he was actually used to the idea of couples rushing through to bring a child to life; he just never imagined he would be one of those people one day.

And then the worry flowed through him again like a wave from a hurricane, and he had to sit down. Thankfully, Christine came out of the room you were staying in and called out to Stephen. He nearly ran to her side and asked, "Is she okay? Is the baby okay? Are you okay?"

"She's fine, we're all fine," she answered, laughing.

He sighed, "Can I come in?"

"Yeah, go ahead," she moved aside.

"Thanks."

He carefully stepped in and as soon as he saw you with the baby in your arms, he was finally able to release all of that stress. He approached the baby and you carefully handed her/him to him. The baby gave a tiny giggle and you both let out tears of joy you didn't know you were holding. Stephen looked down at her/him with pure happiness and he decided all of the stress he had been through was worth it. And all of your stress, too, of course.

"What should we call her/him?" he asked, with an irremovable smile glued to his face.

Your expression matched his as you answered, "(baby's name)" (baby's name, that's what you answered jk)

"(baby's name) it is."

When you arrived back at Kamar-Taj, everyone surrounded you and Stephen, still holding the baby proudly. They drowned you with all sorts of questions, and you gleefully answered them - even if it got a little awkward at times.

Then, when you left to your room you said, "Are you ever gonna let me hold her/him? I was the one that gave birth to her/him, remember?"

"Right, right, sorry," he handed the baby back to you.

That night you sang a lullaby to make the baby sleep, and your newborn child fell asleep, too.
