Cursed

You hated what they did to you. You hated the curse they placed on you. Every passing day you became more weak, and ugly. Someone that people wanted to stay away from. They were willing to ruin your life just because you broke their rules, just like your parents did. They forgave them but, after you took a chance, they no longer felt forgiving. So you were forced to live in the shadows, that way no one would run away from you. But you were getting sick of the lifestyle that was forced upon you. You were determined to find a way to rid yourself of the curse, so you traveled to the best place you could think of. The temple of Kamar-Taj.

You covered your whole body with a long cape and pulled its hood to hide your face. You didn't want them to dismiss you just because of the way you looked. It was hard to walk because of the curse, but you finally made it. The temple didn't look like much from the outside, but you learned not to judge a book by its cover. You knocked on the door and patiently waited for an answer. Soon enough, a bald woman greeted you and let you in. She guided you towards a large room and offered you tea, which you gladly accepted. As you sipped the warm liquid and regained your energy, you explained your situation to the Ancient One.

She nodded in understanding, but you were disappointed at her response, "I'm sorry, Y/N, but I'm afraid I can't help you. I have to take care of something far away from here, something very important, so I won't have time to aid you."

"I can help," you heard a different voice say suddenly. You turned around and found a tall man, "I'm not busy, I was actually getting kind of bored."

"Very well," the Ancient One smiled, happy that someone was able to cure you. "Get started right away, she seems pretty desperate."

You rolled your eyes, trying to hide the fact that she was right. You wanted your old life back as soon as possible.

Stephen headed over to you and sighed, "Okay, so, what's the problem?"

"Some people cursed me, and now I'm ugly and weak. I have trouble even standing and no one wants to help me because of the way I look..." you explained sadly.

"Well then why don't we start by sitting down?" He got a chair and helped you sit. "You can take off your cape, I won't judge. I promise." You shook your head, but he gave you no choice. He gently pulled away your hood to reveal your face, and you averted your eyes to avoid his gaze. "You don't look so bad," he attempted to cheer you up, but you could tell he wasn't being absolutely honest.

"It's fine, you don't have to lie. Plenty of people have told me the truth already. One more won't make much of a difference," you stated.

He didn't respond while opening a portal next to him. He reached for a book and then closed it. He flipped through the pages, looking for the right spell. Eventually, he stopped and smiled at you. "I think I found it. It's an old one, but it should work."

"What do we have to do?" You asked.

"I have to create some type of cream and cover the areas that need healing," he explained.

"So, basically my whole body..." you clarified awkwardly.

"I'm afraid so," he paused. "I'll attempt it with clothes on first, though. See if that works."

"Okay. But can't I do it?" You offered.

"Only a sorcerer can perform the spell."

"Oh... With the curse, those people also took away my abilities," you said with disgust as you thought of them. "I guess I don't qualify as a sorcerer anymore."

"Well, then, I should prepare the cream," he left and came back with some ingredients. After he was done, he covered his hands with it and walked over to you. He began with your face, and delicately placed the cream under your eyes and around your cheekbones, while you payed attention to every detail in his eyes. He then worked his way downwards, and thankfully, the spell was able to work through your thin clothes. Since no one hired you, you weren't able to afford good quality clothing. After about ten minutes, you felt significantly better and stronger. You ran around joyfully, and then stopped in front of Stephen.

"Thank you," you smiled. The cloak, catching the obvious signals, pushed Stephen closer to you. You tried to move away, but it engulfed you and you were left inches apart from Stephen, giving you no choice. You blushed slightly, and looked down, but he brought your chin up and moved closer. He finally closed the gap between your lips and kissed you softly.

"I hope we're not moving too fast," he said.

"I haven''t received any attention for years. I don't give a frick if it's considered going too fast!" You stated, receiving a laugh.

"Okay then," he kissed you again, and the cloak released you, pleased with the result.

Even though you went back to normal, you decided to stay in Kamar-Taj for a while longer. You had a feeling you weren't done with that place yet.

A/N: I know I said there wouldn't be any more author notes, but this one's kind of important. I've been feeling a bit depressed and insignificant lately, so I'm sorry if it seems I'm taking too long with the updates and they feel a little depressing. I'll try to make the next one longer and more cheerful.
