After Iida and Yaoyorozu were made the class reps, we had to take them out to the USJ for training. I sat at the front of the bus and listened silently to their conversations. They mentioned how Midoriya had a very similar quirk to All Might, and I had to agree. I also noticed that All Might was in Midoriya's corner a lot, so maybe they're related in some way. "L/n-sensei, I was actually wondering, what's your quirk?" I heard Midoriya ask.

I looked back and said, "On the first day of school, what did I do?"

He thought for a moment before saying, "Oh! You kind of just walked out of the shadows in the room. Is that your quirk? You can hide in the shadows?"

"That's a part of my quirk, but I can do more than that." I said, wanting the kids to figure it out for themselves.

"Shut up everybody. We're here." Aizawa said.

We exited the bus and walked into the USJ. 'Something's not right.' I thought to myself.

During 13's speech I walked around, curious as to where this bad feeling was coming from. Suddenly, the lights began flickering. "Aizawa." I said, grabbing his attention.

He walked up to me as a large purple portal appeared in the center of the USJ. My eyes widened as villains began coming out of it. I glanced at Aizawa and nodded before running down to fight. I gathered up the shadows of the nearby area and brought them to me, forming a katana. I swung at the smaller villains and when they surrounded me, I smirked. "I've never seen this hero before." someone said.

The villains tried to attack me, but I just faded into a shadow person and sank into their shadows. Unfortunately, when I use this tactic I am unable to see as I am one with the darkness, but I can still use all of my other senses. I felt the vibrations of the villain's movements and came up from behind one of them and popped out of the darkness, forming a large shadow hammer and hitting all of the nearby villains atop their heads. They fell to the ground and I turned around to help Aizawa, but was frozen at the sight.

Aizawa was on the floor, bleeding profusely, and having his head slammed into the ground by a monster. I then noticed a villain with hands covering him move toward my students. I fell into the shadows and moved in front of them, almost like a teleport. I formed a shield of darkness and stopped his attack on Asui. "Who the hell is this hero?" the villain asked.

"They're an underground hero like Eraser Head. Kage. (it means shadow and is pronounced caw-gay)." a warp villain who looks like the portal the villains used to break in.

'It was probably his quirk.' I thought to myself before I realized my solid shadow was chipping. "What?" I asked before I realized it must be Handy's quirk.

I grit my teeth and shoved him off of my shield and stepped defensively in front of my students. He got up and chuckled. "Nomu."

The giant monster that was holding Aizawa let go and charged at me. I looked behind me and realized my students were still there. 'I can't go silhouette because then it'll hit them. I'll just have to take the hit.' I thought to myself as I gathered all of the darkness from the area and created a large, thick shield. Within seconds, I felt the impact of the monster on my shield. I started to lose balance, but held my ground. "L/n-sensei!" I heard Midoriya shout.

I looked back and shouted, "Run!!!"

Midoriya, Asui, and Mineta all moved out of the way, and just in time too because at the moment they did, I lost my footing and the monster ran me into the closest wall. My shield faded and the monster grabbed my head and lifted me by it. I grabbed at its arm, trying to make it let me go, but its grip was firm. It started squeezing my head and I cried out in pain as I heard my skull begin to crack. Suddenly, the monster let go of me  causing me to crumple to the ground and passed out.

I woke up in a dark hospital room. I looked around and saw a figure in the corner. I tried to speak, but nothing would come out of my throat but raspy noises. "Awake now, aren't we?" the person asked.

I recognized the voice as the man from the cafe. He approached and I saw his features in the moonlight. I scowled and he chuckled. "What are you doing here?" I asked with a raspy voice.

"Am I not allowed to visit a friend in the hospital?" Dabi asked.

"We are not and never have been friends." I retorted.

Dabi laughed before mumbling something to himself that I couldn't quite pick up. I tried to sit up but he sat beside me and gently pushed me back onto the bed. "Now now, we wouldn't want you hurting yourself."

I scowled and asked, "Why are you stalking me?"

"Stalking? I guess that is what I'm doing now isn't it. Let's just say it's because you're special to me, Y/n L/n." Dabi said, putting a hand under my chin.

I hated how close he was, but I couldn't move. His hands were so bloody cold under my chin that it sent shivers down my spine. I took a deep breath in and was met with his scent. He smelled rotten and burnt, those patches must be actual burns. But, beneath the corpse-like smell was a faint but familiar smell. It sent me back years, bringing one specific memory to mind.

Flashback

I was crying on the playground, all alone. My parents had abandoned me here, throwing me to the ground before quickly driving away. I was sitting on the swing alone before I heard someone approach me. "Hey, are you okay?" a child asked.

I looked up and saw two boys about my age standing in front of me. One had blonde hair and bright red wings while the other had messily patterned white and red hair and turquoise eyes. I looked away and said, "I'm f-fine."

"Then why are you crying?" the boy with wings asked.

I stayed silent. "Where are your parents?" the boy with white and red hair asked.

More tears built up in my eyes and I sniffled, looking down. "Look what you did! You made them cry!" one of the boys yelled.

"It's not my fault! I didn't mean to!" the other yelled back.

They were quiet before I felt shaky, hesitant arms wrap around me. I was met with an odd smell, a mixture of smoke and something I couldn't quite identify. It was oddly calming. I slowly wrapped my arms around him and hid my face in his neck. After a few minutes, we let go and I wiped my eyes. "Sorry. My parents left me here." I said.

"Oh, I'm sorry. Do you want to stay with one of us? I'm pretty sure my mom would be happy to have you!" the boy with white and red hair said.

"Is that okay?" I asked.

He nodded and he said, "My name's Touya and that's Keigo! What about you?"

I smiled and said, "Y/n."

End of Flashback

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion before shaking my head and muttering to myself, "He's dead. Stop being stupid."

Dabi slowly lowered his hand and his face fell to one of sadness for a second before saying, "Who's dead?"

I shot a glare at him and he raised his hand as a surrender, "Hey I just wanted to know. I feel like we should be honest with each other as we're not necessarily strangers anymore."

"Well it's still none of your business." I retorted.

It was quiet for a few minutes before I heard something outside of my room. Dabi looked at the door and said, "Well, I guess it's my time to leave. See ya later Y/n."

He slipped out of the door and I was left in silence.
