'So I'm sorry to my unknown lover
Sorry that I can't believe that anybody ever
Starts to fall in love with me'

Hermione was hiking through the woods, following Niklaus close by. Every now and then he checked if Hermione was still there, little did he know she was used to this after a year of camping. Not to mention the forbidden forest. Finally Hermione saw something that looked like a camp, a group from maybe twenty young adults. Niklaus dropped Rays body on the ground.

'Who are you?' one of them growled.

Niklaus grinned, 'I am Klaus.'

'You're the hybrid...'

'Fantastic, you've heard of me...' Niklaus responded. 'Now, you see. Ray here is transitioning in a hybrid too, he just needs some human blood. Or he dies.'

No one stepped forward to volunteer, some friends you have. But Niklaus vampire sped towards one of the humans and cut his arm open. Hermione's eyes widened, this was truly horrifying. She turned around, not wanting to hear or see anything else. She glanced one more time at Niklaus, but he was to busy to notice anything. In the back she saw someone waving at her, so she ran towards the girl.

'Hermione Granger... Do you need to escape from him? Can you take me with you? And my boyfriend?' she asked, pointing at the guy hidden in the tent.

Hermione realized the girl knew what she was, 'How do you...?'

The girl glanced at Niklaus and whispered, 'My mom was one.'

Hermione nodded, 'Take my hand, I'll save you both.'

And she apparated, without anyone else noticing. She had apparated to Scotland.
'You're in Scotland, there's a pack who knows about witches too. Tell them Hermione Gilbert send you.'

The girl frowned, 'Gilbert?'

Hermione nodded, 'So they know you aren't making up a story. Go now.'

The girl took her boyfriend and began hiking through the woods, while Hermione apparated back. She ended up not far from the camp, but out of sight and vampire ears.

She didn't know why she was crying, but she wiped her tears away. That's when she heard voices and froze, well voices... More like growls. Damon was pinned against a tree by the guy... Ray, the one Niklaus had turned. Knowing what a werewolf bite would do to a vampire she got a gun with wooden bullets out of her small bag. In that bag was basically everything and when she found out there were vampires in Mystic Falls she immediately put it in her bag too.

She shot the hybrid in the heart, knowing it would only put him in a short state of sleep. Damon looked at her quickly and sped at vampire speed towards her.

'You need to come with me,' he demanded.

Hermione smiles sheepishly, 'You know as well as I do that would be the most stupid move ever. Niklaus will get revenge and Elena will have to pay a price worse then her sister not being in her presence.'

Damon looked angry and frustrated, he knew it was true.

'Look Damon, if you want to protect Elena... You know what to do.'

Damon was gone in less then a second, completely out of sight. Hermione glanced at Ray's body, she had to leave quickly. If he woke up she'd have to kill him and she didn't want to do that. She couldn't use magic either without exposing herself. So she began running in a random direction, seeing the trees pass. And in no time she was back at the camp, body's laying everywhere. Niklaus throwing with everything that was near him, Hermione frowned. What was going on?

Niklaus noticed her not long after, 'Where were you!?'

Hermione flinched, 'I didn't want to watch...'

Niklaus seemed to calm down a bit, but he was still glaring. 'We're going to Chicago.'

Hermione raised her eyebrows, 'Wait what?'

'I need to see a witch.'

And if she hadn't be surrounded by corpses she would've burst out laughing, she knew he was talking about a spirit witch. But as a far stronger witch was standing in front of him it was weird. Her face remained expressionless though. As she hated the fact he had killed everyone around her.

'Alright... Chicago then...' she answered.

{}{}{}

'Damon! How did you get away from the hybrid?! Answer me!' Elena shouted, as they entered the boarding house.

Where the entire gang was already waiting on them, patiently.

Damon grunted, 'Fine! You want to know?! Hermione shot him!'

Everyone was silent, Jenna gasped for breath. 'She knows about vampires..?'

Jeremy sighed, 'Of course she does! Hermione is a genius, she should've figured it out by now. Besides, I don't think Klaus will even try to hide his true nature.'

Elena shook her head, 'That may be true, but Hermione wouldn't just believe in the supernatural. She clings unto science and non fiction.'

'Whether she would or wouldn't have figured it out with or without Klaus. But she's captured by him. And whether or not Klaus would hide his true nature, she SHOT the hybrid. Saving my life during the process. So she does know and if she wanted to come home, she would've been begging on her knees for me to take her with me,' Damon interrupted an upcoming fight between the siblings.

Elena looked at him in disbelief, 'You had the chance to take her with you and you LEFT her?!'

Damon looked at her sternly, 'Yes I did. You want to know what she said? She said that I should leave her, because if I didn't Klaus would want revenge. And if he got revenge he would something worse then taking your sister away. Her words. She's smart.'

And slowly Elena seemed to realize Damon, Hermione and Jeremy were kind of right. She sunk into the couch, her hands going through her hair. She just wanted her sister back and she was worried about what would happen. Jeremy saw her sister in despair and knew he would've done the same if he hadn't known she could defend herself.

'It'll be alright. Hermione is a tough one.' Jeremy tried to calm Elena.

Elena nodded, knowing he was right.
