To: Theo: *picture sent*

To: Theo: Just got my bachelor's degree!! Say hello to a registered nurse!x

I had sent him a selfie of me with the necklace he had given me visible, as well as the engagement ring thanks to my fingers being in a peace sign. I was smiling widely.

He didn't reply until late in the evening, whilst I had sent the messages around midday.

From: Theo: Congratulations, I wish I'd been there for the ceremony! Look at you, so pretty. If I used emojis I'd use the heart eyed one x

To: Theo: But you use the heart emoji?

From: Theo: True, but only with you. I have to go, love. We'll talk later xx

Last weekend with him and Anne had been amazing, but then it was back to reality.

Having just begun studying for a master's degree, my schedule was even more hectic and busy, as was his.

We still texted and called whenever possible, but not as often as we had during the first few weeks of him living in another country.

With studies and work taking even more of my time and effort than usual, as weeks went by it was continuously harder to have long conversations with him.

__

The first few sets of rumours Theo had been quick to clear up with me, assuring me that they weren't true.

With the latest one though, which was a photo of him supposedly with yet another Spanish model, I had received no 'it's photoshopped' or 'just a rumour, I love you' text.

I felt terrible as our contact was slowly fading. Of course, we were both busy and I completely understood it, but it felt as if all my original fears were slowly becoming true and I found myself over-thinking about us all too much.

What if the rumour of him and that Spanish model was true? What if he had found someone else?

I assured myself it wasn't like that, but another week passed of him not mentioning it at all to me. I didn't have the heart to bring it up, talking to him being the only thing that mattered in the moment. I also did have a bubbling and growing fear it was true.

From: Theo: I don't know if I miss you enough to have drank, or if I drank enough to miss you x

It was extremely late, past midnight when I received his strange message.

My brows instantly furrowed and I texted back.

To: Theo: Are you okay? Where are you?

From: Theo: Don't be mad x

To: Theo: Why would I be mad?x

From: Theo: I swear I tried saying no, but Gareth and a few other guys dragged me out here!

(A/N: let's pretend Gareth Bale is single!!<3)

From: Theo: There's this strip club / club here. Super exclusive. Very exciting.

My heart slowly sank.

To: Theo: You're at a strip club?

From: Theo: I'm just at the bar with a few friends, I'm not too in to the women...

To: Theo: I should hope not, you're engaged to me. You promised me you wouldn't go out to strip clubs...

From: Theo: I know, love. It wasn't from my own choosing, these guys are very persistent.

I was too exhausted after a long day to even want to think of what to do now. My emotions were already on edge after our regular talks and texts had begun fading, as well as the rumour of him having something going on with that Spanish model. Him going to a strip club felt like the cherry on top right now.

To: Theo: Okay. I have an early morning Theo, I'm going to go to sleep now. Have fun, don't get too wild. I love you x

Him typing immediately after my text prevented me from being able to place my phone down.

Frosty was purring happily beside me on my bed, oblivious to everything, and I ran my fingers through her fur a couple of times.

From: Theo: Stay up a few minutes. I'll call you.

I sighed and fell back down on the bed, my eyes closing. I trusted him, right?

Theo's name lit up my screen, and I answered.

"Hey, baby," he spoke as soon as I'd brought the phone up to my ear.

"Hi," my discontentment with this whole situation was very audible in my voice.

"I'm outside. Can you hear me?" He continued. It had been a month since we'd seen last, and I missed him terribly.

"Yes," I breathed out and pinched the bridge of my nose, "Theo, it's fine that you're having a good time. I'm not angry. I trust you."

"I know. Paparazzi took photos of us going in there, and I didn't want you to see them and freak out," he chuckled to himself, "where are you?"

So, he could clear some photos of him entering a club with his friends, but not countless rumours of him having something going on with that model?

"I'm in bed. It's late and I have to wake up early..."

"What are you wearing?" The hints of playfulness in his tone told me he wasn't serious.

I laughed gently and shook my head even when he couldn't see it, "your hoodie."

"Theo, mate, come back!" I heard a faint male voice through the phone.

"Yeah, just a second," he brushed him off before speaking to me again, "only that?"

"What?" I yawned.

"You're only wearing my hoodie?"

"Yes... Theo, we're not having phone sex."

"We're not," Theo confirmed, voice almost smug and laced with a grin before it grew serious, "I've been so busy, Scarlett. I'm sorry we haven't been able to call every evening."

"It's fine, Theo. We're both busy," I assured him, "do you know if you're coming to London any time soon?"

"No, I don't," he told me almost regretfully, "I suppose you're not free to fly out for a weekend with me?"

"Not at the moment, there's so much going on and I have to study twice as much," I replied, "I'm sure we'll see again soon."

"Yeah..." he breathed out, "Scarlett?"

"Yes?"

"I think I'm just gonna head back home," he came to a conclusion.

"Oh?" I was more positive he meant his home in Madrid, rather than here in London.

"Strip clubs aren't as fun when your fiancée isn't with you," I could hear the smile in his voice, and gently giggled, feeling warm at just the sound of his voice, despite my troubling over-thinking.

"I don't want to be the reason for you not to be having a good time with your friends. You can go spend time with them," I assured him genuinely, "just... try not to get dry humped."

He laughed and I smiled to myself.

"No, I'll go home. Harry, Johnny, Thomas and Ellie are arriving here tomorrow, so I have to be somewhat functioning," he then told me.

"It's lovely that they're coming to visit you there, you must miss them," I spoke quietly, Frosty now asleep next to me.

"Yeah."

We talked a bit more, nothing too interesting, really, before he got into his car which Alfred was driving.

Then, knowing he was on his way to his house, I felt comfortable bringing the conversation to an end.

I was left feeling confused, worrisome and anxious.

From: Linda: Babe! Elliot's birthday is coming up, I was thinking we could organise a surprise party for him at yours? X
