After I had gathered enough of my belongings to survive one night and, with excitement filling me at the thought of meeting his mother, I had rushed back to Theo's car with Frosty.

Theo seemed amused at my eagerness to get back on the road for the drive to his mother's beach house, following calmly behind me.

We had buckled ourselves in.

"You want to put on Coldplay?" He had asked and was handing his phone over to me before he had even started the car.

I had shaken my head and got comfortable in the passenger's seat. Frosty had been laying on my lap, ignoring Theo like the sassy queen that she was.

I still remembered when she had snuggled against his leg that day when he'd come over after Russia, the day he had broken up with me because of what he thought would have been best for me and my life.

"Put on something you like," I had told him encouragingly, "I want to hear what you listen to."

He had shrugged and begun scrolling through his playlists, "as long as R&B doesn't get you too excited.."

I had giggled and ran my finger's through Frosty's soft, white fur, "I'm not promising anything."

"You and R&B in a closed space? I'm not sure I can handle that combo," I had continued with a grin.

The gentle and seductive beats had lulled me off into a small slumber right as he had driven onto the highway. Frosty had been on my lap, also sleeping.

I woke up at the feel of the car slowing down to a stop.

Before my eyes had even opened yet, I registered the warm weight of Frosty no longer on my lap. Frightened that she had fallen and was now on the floor of this sports car, I jolted and my eyes shot open.

"Everything alright?"

The floor by my shoes was empty, so I turned my wide eyes over to Theo, who had just spoken and had his brows raised at me.

My eyes widened even more when I took in the sight of Frosty now sleeping on his lap, purring as his fingers ran through her hair. I had never wanted to be a cat so much in my life.

I wasn't surprised at all that my cat was purring; Theo really knew how to work his fingers to get a girl happy. (<<< A/N: I'M CRINGING AT MYSELF, I'M SO SORRY FOR THIS I CAN'T BELIEVE I WOULD EVEN THINK SOMETHING LIKE THIS AHH HAHA!!)

"What's going on?" My groggy voice joined Frosty's purring to fill the otherwise serene and quiet car.

"I need to go get a coffee before I pass out at the wheel," he grinned with a small shrug.

"That's not funny... you wouldn't believe how many people actually do," I shook my head with a small frown, "statistics say—"

"Okay, calm down," he let out a small laugh and reached his free hand over to brush a piece of hair behind my ear. In my just-woken-up and dreamy state, I found myself leaning into his warm touch.

"I can drive if you want to rest?" I offered with a small yawn, which I covered with the back of my hand, "we can't be far?"

I knew his mother didn't live far away from London. It couldn't be more than 45 minutes till we got there, judging by what time it now was compared to when we'd left from my house.

"This is a Bugatti Chiron, Tinker Bell," Theo raised his brows almost challengingly at me, "there's no way I'm letting you drive."

My brows furrowed. I wasn't a fan of cars, especially sports car. My car drove me to the hospital and back, which was all I personally required a car to do.

Advancing technology worried me, and especially the kind of features in this car... it was only a matter of time before it would begin some sort of uprising within all sports cars and go on to take over the world.

"Why? You'd get to rest..."

He shook his head firmly, still gently running his fingers through Frosty's fur, "do you know how much this cost? I'm not risking you crashing it."

"I'm not even going to pretend I'm not offended," I narrowed my eyes at him, "I'm a fantastic driver."

"What about that one time when you—"

I cut him off, "okay, fine. You go get your coffee, I'll stay here."

I huffed and got comfortable in the passengers seat of his luxury car, directing my narrowed eyes at the gas station we were parked in front of.

"Don't be mad at me, baby," Theo cooed, a very audible grin on his lips. I could tell he was holding back a laugh. His fingers brushed ever so gently along my jaw, until he cupped the back of my head and turned me back to look at him.

"I'm not mad," I protested, shrugging. My arms had folded over my chest without me even having noticed it earlier. I quickly brought them down onto my lap while he continued to watch me with amusement shining in those devastatingly sensational dark eyes of his.

"Give me a kiss then."

"What?" My brows furrowed, "I've just slept, I can't imagine—"

"A kiss, Scarlett," he grinned innocently, very pleased with himself, "I'll buy you something pretty from inside if you give me a kiss."

I laughed, my resolve vanishing like smoke into air, "there's nothing pretty for you to buy inside a gas station, Theo. Maybe a keychain, but that's it. Besides, I'm not your sugar baby."

"Who said anything about you being my sugar baby?" His hand now moved down to twirl a strand of my hair between his fingers, gaze very focused on his action.

"You. Wanting a sexual favour in exchange for a gift," I explained, and he laughed.

"You must be joking. I was thinking of something along the lines of a chocolate bar in exchange for a simple kiss," he shook his head at me, his hand retreating to take his car keys out of the ignition, "I mean, since we are together, I should be allowed to buy you chocolate bars whenever, and we should also be able to kiss without it turning into some sort of transactional relationship..."

I sighed and pinched the bridge of my nose while a small smile tugged at the sides of my lips, "Lord have mercy... this is how it all starts, Theo. Soon you'll be buying me luxury items for me to have sex with you..."

I met his dark eyes again and he shrugged, knowing this conversation had turned more joking than anything.

"I prefer to think you'd like to have sex with me without me having to buy you anything."

"That's true, of course, but I was just using it as an example," I giggled gently and reached my hand over to nudge his upper arm delicately.

"I'm just going to go get that coffee for myself before you start becoming completely deranged, okay?" He sent me a teasing grin, and I rolled my eyes with a smile.

He carefully handed Frosty over onto my lap, "seriously though, can I get you anything?"

His eyes met mine, neither of us joking anymore as he unbuckled his seatbelt.

"A chocolate bar would be nice," I nodded with a small smile, "and maybe a bottle of water."

"Sure," he returned my smile and opened the door on his side.

"Theo, wait," I was quick to reach over to tug at the rolled up sleeve of his hoodie.

"Yeah?" He glanced back at me just before he was to step out.

With my finger and a mischievous smile, I motioned for him to come closer to me. A knowing grin tugged at the sides of his lips while he sighed dramatically and closed the car door.

He then turned to me, and leaned in enough for me to be able to close the small distance between us and press my lips lovingly against his.

Once Theo had left his car and began making his way into the gas station, Frosty and I both stayed watching him almost longingly. She was definitely loving him as well.

He had lifted up his hood, trying to avoid getting recognised. I had grinned like an idiot with amusement when a group of truck drivers had started taking selfies with him while he was at the candy section.

We were ten minutes from reaching his parents' house.

"My stepbrother's there as well, with his daughter," Theo was telling me.

As soon as he'd returned, Frosty had situated herself back on his lap.

"How old is she?"

"Four," he spoke, concentrated on the road in front of him with one hand petting Frosty on his lap, "she's a sweetheart. A bit shy, but she'll love you."

"Okay," I nodded, "your stepbrother doesn't have a wife or husband, or anything?"

He shook his head, "no. His wife died a few years back, it was rough."

I frowned, "oh. He takes care of their child alone? What's her name?"

"She's Ellie. He takes care of her alone, yeah," Theo shrugged, "he's managed fine, from what I've seen. She's a great kid."

"On some level, it's good that she's been too young to understand fully what happened..."

"That's true," he briefly glanced over at me, as if to make sure my attention was on him, "my stepfather's on a business trip by the way, so it'll just be my mum, brother and Ellie."

"It'll be lovely," I smiled gently, sitting so that my body was facing his and I was leaning back against the door, "have you realised how normal this feels?"

"How normal what feels, love?"

"This. You and me," I clarified and reached for his hand which was petting Frosty. I took it into mine and brought it over onto my lap.

"We hadn't been okay for almost a month until yesterday, and here we are, going to meet your family," I finished with a small shrug.

Theo sent me a comforting smile. It was as if something flashed through his eyes and he was about to say something, but decided not to.

"Yeah," he breathed out instead, lost in thought while he gave my hand a gentle squeeze.

For a moment I wondered what on Earth my comment had caused him to think, until he spoke again.

"My mum's very upfront... if she starts asking you if you're going to get pregnant any time soon, just ignore her," he shook his head, while I burst out laughing.

"Will she really ask that?" I wondered skeptically.

Theo nodded, completely serious, "that's not even the worst she might ask you. Just don't take her seriously, okay? Don't let her scare you off."

"Nothing's going to scare me off, at this point," I assured him, "you're stuck with me."

"I'm not too annoyed with being stuck with you, you know?" He sent me an extremely meaningful look, and for a moment I was left speechless by the sudden emotions within the darkness of his eyes.

I just gave him a small smile in return, a million thoughts running through my mind.

What was Theo up to?
