"Hey, darling," Tim jogged up to me, smiling widely.

While I returned his smile, his arm was casually flung over my shoulders, and began guiding me to walk alongside him and out of the hospital.

"Where to?" He asked me as we exited the front doors into the chilly autumn breeze. The sun had already set, with street lamps lighting up the sidewalk as well as the large parking lot in front of it.

"I'm just heading home," I told him, definitely not minding him holding me this close to him. It kept me warm from the cold weather, but nothing beyond that, really. "You?"

"I was wondering if you'd be up for drinks with me? There's a nice bar down the street," he suggested, hanging his suit jacket over one shoulder and holding it with a bent finger.

I hesitated. Theo had returned to London today and had texted me in the morning if I was free to go on that date with him now. I hadn't replied, still confused about the photo of him and that model from a week ago. A very powerful part of me still wanted to spend time with him though, just not knowing if tomorrow morning or tonight was best, or if it would lead to any good in general.

"Sure, why not," I finally spoke and Tim smiled again, "just a few drinks though, I have an early morning."

"Yes, of course," he nodded, arm squeezing my side to his very gently, "I'll drive."

We chatted as we walked down the sidewalk, mostly him talking about the four surgeries he had conducted today. I wondered what Theo was doing right now; might he have already found someone to keep his bed warm for the night since I hadn't replied to his message?

The bar Tim brought me to was bigger and more populated than I had expected it to be, but for a few drinks I didn't mind.

We entered and while I went to sit at a table, Tim disappeared in the crowd to get us drinks. I took my phone out to pass the time.

To: Theo: I'm out for a few drinks right now, and then I'll be going straight home. Would you like to meet up for brunch or lunch tomorrow?

I decided to then reply to his earlier message about wanting to meet me. Once the three dots popped up and told me he was typing, I found a small and giddy smile forming onto my lips.

From: Theo: Would you mind if we joined you?

To: Theo: Who's we?

From: Theo: Just Justin, his girlfriend, and I. We're at Club Lagoon now, but I'm beginning to feel like a bit of a third wheel...

To: Theo: Oh, haha. I'm with my friend Tim at the bar down the street from the hospital, Leo's.

From: Theo: We'll be there in ten, love x

Just as I placed my phone down, Tim sat down opposite me and handed me a beer.

"What's going on? Why are you smiling like that?" He chuckled, eyeing me curiously. I let out a gentle and small laugh, accepting the beer and then glancing down at it.

"No reason. Is it okay, by the way, if Theo and two of his friends join us?" I cleared my throat, watching as his smile faded.

"Theo Black? Why?" He seemed confused, and I felt bad. Tim clearly liked me and also knew about what had happened between Theo and me, yet here I was, inviting Theo to join the few drinks we were having with Tim.

"He, uhm... he says he's feeling like a third wheel with his friend Justin and Justin's girlfriend, and thought if he could join us?" I tried giving him a small smile, probably failing miserably at it.

He just observed me for a moment, before giving me an almost hesitant nod.

"Why not. I have to tell you, I am a bit of a supporter of our football team, and meeting Justin Taylor would be extremely cool."

I let out a laugh, and he smiled after sipping his beer.

"I've met him once, he seemed quite nice," I nodded, also taking a small sip of the beer, "try not to start fangirling, alright, Tim?"

It was now his turn to laugh, along with a shake of his head.

"I'll have to contain myself, yes. It'll be hard, but I'll have to try my best," he joked.

I grinned and gently rolled my eyes at him, "you know, there probably will be a lot of attention directed at them when they get here, so I understand if you feel uncomfortable—"

"Hey, there."

I was cut off by a voice, a very familiar one. When I looked up, my eyes found Theo's dark ones smiling brightly down at me.

"Theo, hey," I stood up to give him a friendly hug, sounding breathless all of a sudden.

Instead of returning it in an appropriately friendly way, both his arms wrapped around my waist and I was tugged against his front firmly.

His hard body made my lower stomach clench, and just the feel of him made my knees feel weaker than I would have liked. Since I had only hugged him with one arm going around his neck, I was forced to bring the other up to his chest, gaining a bit of space for my rational mind to make its return.

"You look fantastic," he told me, hot breath hitting my ear and causing an embarrassing shiver to run right through me. The smile on his face told me he definitely had felt it, once we pulled back.

"I, uh..." I quickly cleared my throat, breaking away from his gorgeous dark eyes, "Theo, this is Tim."

I stepped back and introduced the two. Tim stood up and politely extended his hand out for Theo to shake.

"Tim, this is Theo," I finished, a tight lipped smile forming onto my lips.

I watched intently as Theo's brows furrowed and his smile wavered when his eyes landed on Tim. The scene was beginning to look quite uncomfortable, before he finally shook Tim's hand.

"Good to meet you," Theo spoke, sounding polite yet now rather unamused and uninterested.

"You too," Tim nodded, giving him a smile, "Scarlett told me Justin Taylor's here as well, no?"

"Yes, just getting drinks. They'll be here in a minute," he spoke, pulling back a chair beside mine and seating himself down.

He then looked up at me, patted my seat, and gave me an almost boyish smile.

I sat down and returned his sweet smile, feeling a little awkward at the tension I sensed between the two men, mostly coming from Theo. Tim seemed rather without worry, just excited to meet Justin.

"Tim's the one you were photographed with?" Theo asked me quietly, leaning towards me so Tim wouldn't hear us even over the music and chatter of people around us.

I turned to give Theo a confused expression. He recognised Tim from that stupid picture the teenage guys had taken of me and him?

"Yes," I told him, closely studying his expression.

"Are you two dating?" He then asked, and I quickly glanced over at Tim who was sat opposite us, making sure he wasn't paying any attention. Rather, he was scanning the bar for his man-crush.

"I mean," I let out a small laugh, looking down at my lap with a small shake of my head, "why?"

"Because if you're involved with someone, I'll stop pursuing you," he told me straight up and my gaze snapped up to him again with my eyes slightly wider than before.

Was he being serious? I raised my brows at him in a challenging way, with him being such a hypocrite. He was the one getting involved with damn models...

I took in a calming breath, assuring myself that I didn't care and what we had had was just a one time thing. I was having trouble convincing even those simple things to myself.

"You? Pursuing me? Theo, we had sex once. It was very nice, but that's it," I gave him a small smile, softening my words. His brows only seemed to furrow.

"You also saved my life and we had dinner..." he pointed out, eyes searching mine closer than before.

"I didn't save your life, it was just a concussion and I gave you painkillers for it," I couldn't help but let a small laugh slip my lips, "and as much as I enjoyed it, it was just one date."

"Give me another one."

"Another concussion?" I raised my brows at him, not catching on.

"No. Another date," he spoke, hand discreetly finding its way to rest on my thigh. I didn't have it in me to remove it, so I let it be, giving myself the luxury of enjoying the warmth and tingly feelings it gave me.

"Listen..." I hesitated, "if you've seen the article on page six and the picture of Tim and I, you can be sure I have too. Don't take me for a fool, Theo. You and I had fun, but like you, I don't want to pursue anything with anyone who's involved with someone else."

He stayed silent for a moment, before glancing down at his lap and nodding once. His hand slipped off my thigh, and a part of me really wished it had stayed there.

"Hello, I'm Tim, honoured to meet you!"

I diverted my gaze from Theo to find Tim standing up to greet Justin Taylor and the same gorgeous blonde model Theo had been leaving the club and then supposedly going over to his hotel with.

I watched as Justin placed five beers onto the table and shook hands with Tim.

"Pleasure, Tim. I'm Justin," Justin gave him a grin before looking over at me. I couldn't stop staring at the blonde beauty next to him, though. "How are you, Scarlett?"

"Good, thanks," I managed out, eyes now moving between Theo and the girl.

Was Theo having sex with his best friend's girlfriend?

"You haven't met Emma, my girlfriend," Justin then introduced her to Tim and I, and we shook hands. She seemed extremely lovely on first impression, but I couldn't get over my wildly running thoughts.

Justin had bought all of us beers and was now sitting beside Tim with Emma on his other side. Theo and I were sitting so that he was beside Emma and I was near Tim.

I was intently listening to Tim and Justin discussing sports, even if I had zero idea about what they were saying.

"You shouldn't believe everything you read in the media, Tinker Bell," I almost jumped out of my seat when Theo's lips brushed against the side of my ear, sending a hot jolt of need between my thighs.

"I only play football, not with feelings or women," he added lowly.
