You and Dipper's Age: 17

~•~3rd POV~•~

Dipper sighed, as he walked into the small little bakery, his knights following shortly behind him. If you're wondering, yes, Dipper Pines is part of the royal family. How his family became known as royalty you ask? It still remains a mystery to this very day.

The two kings, Stanford and Stanley, are the rulers of the whole land. Long ago, when they were both just little princes, they both had a dream. A dream that they would rule the whole world together. But, around the year they were about to be crowned as kings, a war had happened between them. Not too long after King Stanford had disappeared and wasn't heard of over thirty years. Once King Stanford had gone missing, King Stanley set a rule to the land was to forget that there was ever two kings. Despite the lose of his brother, King Stanley lived on those thirty years as the ruler on his own.

While during King Stanford's disappearance, two children had joined the royal family. A boy and girl, Dipper and Mabel Pines, were born. They were raised to be the king or queen of the future. Once the two children had grown into preteens, they had found their missing King Stanford. The two Kings reunited together eventually and ruled the land together once again. King Stanford had taken away the rule of forgetting about having two kings. King Stanley and Stanford were able to achieve their childhood goal once again, ruling all of the land, together.

Years have passed later, the two kings were growing old. They needed to have a replacement. And that's where Dipper comes in. Dipper was the male, so obviously the King Stan's would choose him to rule the land.

Don't ask how Mabel handled it.

But the thing was about Dipper becoming the king, was he even ready to be one? Is he capable with that much power all in his hands? When he becomes king-- who was going to be his queen?

Questions like that kept on swarming around in his head, and that's why he went to the small bakery in his town to meet up with one of his best friends. He wasn't royal, nor was he poor. He was sorta in the middle. No one knew why they bonded so well, since they're polar opposites. Dipper was a goody-goody, while his best friend, Bill, was a trouble maker. He had been taken to the castle numerous of times by the royal guards and knights. He literally has his own jail cell named after him.

"Why the hell did you send one of your guards to get me here? I have a life you know." Bill said, who was leaning against the counter.

"I life outside of your cell? I doubt that." Dipper smirked slightly, standing next to him.

Bill chuckled at his joke, shaking his head slightly, "You're right. That cell is like my home." Bill sighed, "I mean, I did claim it as mine."

"Pissing on the wall doesn't mean you actually claimed it."

"Of course it does! I am a free male!" Bill said, playfully punching Dipper in the arm.

That's when Dipper's knights came over. The knights picked Bill up by his arms. Bill didn't fight them though, only sighing, "Can you tell these dumbasses to lay off?"

"It's cool, guys." Dipper said them.

They both let go of Bill, dropping him to the ground. Bill huffed, wiping off the imaginary dust off his shoulders, "How can you live with those dipshits following you around everyday? Don't you wanna be able to breath once in awhile?"

"They don't bother me cause I don't break the rules, unlike you."

"Touché."

Dipper decided to order his usual at the bakery. And of course he had to pay for whatever Bill wanted, since Bill's always been very stubborn about money. Plus Bill knows that Dipper would most likely pay for him for everything since he sometimes can't help himself and just steal whatever he wants. Still, no one knows why these opposite duos were best friends.

"So, how are you dealing with finding a special someone after you become king, huh?" Bill smirked, knowing exactly what his answer will be.

"I've... been thinking about it... and I haven't actually tried yet." Dipper admitted.

"I knew it."

"What do you mean you knew it?"

"I know that you don't want to be looking for someone cause there is no one for you." Bill said, "You know that every girl in town just wants to be acknowledged by you cause you're royal."

"It's scary how you can read my mind sometimes."

"I can't read minds though. I'll admit that would be pretty neat. I only know what you're thinking cause we've been friends for a long time." Bill admitted.

"Sadly." Dipper chuckled, as the baker placed both their orders on the craft made counter.

"Thanks." Dipper said, giving him a couple gold coins, "I'm sure that'll be enough."

The man's face lit up once seeing the coins, quickly taking them. Yes, they were indeed real gold coins. Usually Stanley would give Dipper some noble money to buy stuff he wanted, being the cheap bastard he was. But, Dipper always wanted be seen as a nice person. Even if he would take some of both the Stan's golden coin stash. They wouldn't notice it was gone anyways since there's so much and Dipper barely takes their money.

"Thank you, your highness." The baker said, bowing slightly.

"Don't mention it." Dipper smiled, turning away from the baker to face Bill.

"You're too naive."

"What?"

"If you keep giving away gold to random strangers they're going to take advantage of you and make up lies to get your money. Believe me." Bill said.

"Says the guy who steals food for people."

"With a high price."

Dipper playfully rolled his eyes at him, the two of them starting to walk away, "You know sometimes I feel like you're going to get into major trouble one-"

Dipper was cut off when he bumped into someone, almost causing him to drop their sweets. Bill glared at the culprit while Dipper just glanced over. But both their serious looks dropped when they saw who. It was a girl, yes, but what shocked them was that she when she looked at the two she didn't start freaking out since Dipper's royalty. She had a calm expression on her face, "Eh, sorry. I didn't mean to bump into you. I was just in a rush." She said.

Dipper just continued to stare at her. She seemed... different. In a good way. She acted like Dipper was just some other noble walking the dirt roads here. She didn't dress up like most of the girls did here that tried flirting with Dipper. She did have a (F/c) dress on, yes, but it wasn't one that looked like it had been washed often, and it didn't look fancy whatsoever, "Are you going to speak her? Cause if you're not I will." Bill whispered to Dipper, causing him to break out of his thoughts.

"Oh, u-um, it's alright. It my fault for not seeing you there. But I'm not sure how I could miss a pretty face like yours." Dipper said, giving her a sweet smile.

She sheepishly smiled at him, a pink tinge appearing on her cheeks, "Uh t-thanks." She stuttered out, "Sorry, people usually aren't always nice to me."

"They're not?"

"No. You've probably seen from my appearance by now why. I'm not the most appealing girl in the world." She said, "I try not to stand out, at least."

Bill placed an arm in Dipper's shoulder, "You're still very beautiful, ma'am." He threw a flirtatious wink at her, causing her to blush more. Dipper pushed him roughly off of him, giving him a slight playful glare.

"I should go get what I need. It was nice meeting you two." She said softly, before starting to walk over to where the counter was and the baker.

"I bet you a thousand coins that you're going to end up hitting it off with her." Bill said to me.

"Shut up." Dipper said, "I just met her and I was being nice."

"No you weren't. You and me both know that she seemed different." Bill pointed out.

"Seriously I really think you can read minds."

"I wish."

Dipper and Bill walked over to a small wooden table with wooden chairs. They decided to have their sweets here, Dipper's knights not far from them. Dipper would steal some glances over at the girl, who seemed to still be talking to the baker. That caused him to worry a bit. It usually didn't take that long to order something.

Maybe there's a problem? But why should he be worrying about her? He just met her. But she seemed really sweet and kind. And she must not have a lot of money from her appearance, but he wasn't judging anything about that.

So, Dipper stood up to walk over to her, "I'll be right back, Bill." He said quickly, heading over to her, Bill giving a confused look at him.

Dipper could start to hear their conversation more clearly, "Please sir. This is all I have. I need to buy this for my family." She said quietly.

"I'm sorry, ma'am. It's just not enough. I'm afraid you can't buy this."

"Please. I'm begging. I'll do anything." She said.

"Unless you have one extra coin on you I can't let you have it." The baker said.

"Excuse me. Is there a problem over here?" Dipper asked, stepping next to the girl and facing the baker.

"The little lady wants to buy some bread but ain't got enough money for it. I'm trying to tell her that but she ain't listenin'." The baker sighed.

"It's on me then." Dipper said, digging out another couple of golden coins from his pocket, "And add a couple of sweets to the order too."

"...Alright then." The baker said, then looking at the lady, "Ain't it your lucky day. And mine with all this gold." He mumbled the last part to himself.

Dipper looked over at the girl. She was looking down at her torn shoes, "You didn't have to do that for me."

"But I wanted to." Dipper said, "I couldn't just sit back and watch. I wanted to help you."

A dark blush appeared on her cheeks, "Oh, thank you then."

"You're welcome." Dipper said. There was some silence after, "I heard you say that you were buying just the one piece of bread for your family, is that true?"

The girl nodded slowly at him, "Yes... my family doesn't have that much money."

"So where do you get your money from, might I ask?" Dipper questioned.

The girl hesitated for a moment, "Well... I try to get some kind of job, but I usually get rejected or get fired right away. So-- I have to go with the last resort." The next part she said was very quiet, "Stealing."

Dipper didn't know what to say, but before he could say anything, the baker came back with the girls order. She took it quickly, giving him a quiet thank you, before facing Dipper again, "Thank you again for this. I appreciate it." She said, giving him a small smile.

Just from the simple smile caused Dipper's heart beat to quicken. He didn't really want to say goodbye to this girl. What if he never sees her again? What if something happens to her? What if-- she's the one?

As the girl started to walk away, Dipper stopped her, "Uh, wait-!" He gently grabbed her arm, causing her to look back at him.

"Yes?" She questioned.

"Would you... like to sit with us for a little bit? You know, talk for a little bit? I'd really like to do that..." Dipper asked nervously, biting his lip nervously.

Without any hesitation, she nodded her head at him and smiled more. A dark blush appeared on Dipper's cheeks from how adorable she looked, "Alright. I'd love to chat, I mean, I really don't have anything else to do."

So, the girl and Dipper walked back to their table where Bill still sat, eating his sweet he got, "Oh, by the way, I never did get your name. What is it?"

"(Y/n)." She said, continuing to smile at Dipper, "What's yours?"

"Dipper. You have a very lovely name (Y/n)."

"Thank you." (Y/n) said, a blush appearing on her cheeks.

_______

"So, let me get this straight," (Y/n) asked, "Dipper, as in the royal Dipper Pines, is you?"

"...Yes." Dipper was hesitant about his answer.

"And you're Bill, his partner in crime that I've heard about?" (Y/n) asked, raising an eyebrow.

"The one and only." Bill smirked.

"That's... pretty cool, I guess. I mean I wouldn't expect you two to be even acknowledging my existence-" (Y/n) shrugged.

"-Wait-- you aren't going to freak out about us?" Dipper asked confusedly.

"...Why would I?" (Y/n) chuckled, like it was the most stupidest question she's ever heard, "Cause you're both 'high class'?"

"Of course. The ladies are always all over us, especially this guy over here." Bill said, elbowing Dipper's side, "Stop it!"

(Y/n) chuckled again at the two, "I don't care if you're royalty or... friends with royalty. You're both still people like me." She pointed out, "And that's all that matters, right?"

Shocked expressions came across both Dipper and Bill's face, as they both looked at each other, "Keep her or I will." Bill threatened in a whisper tone.

They looked back at her, getting rid of their shocked expressions, "No, there's nothing wrong with that, I think." Dipper said.

She smiled at the two of them, "Good. Cause otherwise if you two had different thoughts about that I would have walked right on out this bakery."

"So you're the sarcastic type eh?" Bill raised an eyebrow at her.

"The friendliest people towards me only see his side of me. You two have been really nice to me, so, guess you got to see a sneak peek of it." (Y/n) said, throwing in a playful wink.

Dipper's cheeks flushed pink as he looked down at the table, Bill laughing along side of him, "Wow. You're nothing like those other snobby girls."

"Don't even get me started on them." (Y/n) groaned, running a hand through her messy hair, "They're always thinking that they can take advantage of me cause I'm 'poor' and 'dirty', which I'm not arguing about since it's somewhat true. But they don't need to make it seem like a horrible thing."

Dipper looked up from the table, a small frown forming on his face from the sad story, "I'm... so sorry that they do that to you."

(Y/n) smirked slightly, "Its alright. What they don't know is that my uncle used to be one of your knights at your castle. He taught me every fighting technique he learned there."

The two chuckled at her, "Remind us not to mess with you then." Dipper said.

(Y/n) smiles at Dipper, before her eyes widened, "Oh gosh! How long have we been talking? My family must be worried sick." She stood up from her seat, collecting the goods that she had gotten, "It was a pleasure talking wit you two today. I hope to see you around again." The smile from her face never leaves as she makes her way to leave.

"I wouldn't just let her leave if I were you." Bill chimed in.

"What?"

"Letting her walk out that is watching her step out of your life. Are you even you're going to ever see her again?" Bill questioned.

Dipper comprehended what Bill told him. He was right. When was something like this ever going to happen to him again? When he becomes king he'll barely be allowed to leave the castle. People who aren't royal or poor aren't even allowed to be near any person that is royalty or blood related to them.

With these thoughts in mind, Dipper quickly rushed out of his seat. He sprinted in front of (Y/n), catching her off guard, "Uh... hi again." Dipper said awkwardly.

"Hi." She chuckled softly.

Dipper was quiet for a moment, thinking of what he should tell her, "Would you... like to meet up with me somewhere? Tomorrow afternoon?" He asked, "You don't have to if you don't want to or can't-"

"No! I mean... I'd love to." (Y/n) said, a small blush appearing on her cheeks.

Dipper smiled at her, "Okay. Cool. Meet me outside of this bakery tomorrow afternoon."

"Alright. Sounds like a date." Her sheepish smile turned to an embarrassed expression, "I-I mean, it's not a date-date, b-but just hanging out w-with-"

Dipper chuckled at her, making (Y/n)'s cheeks grow darker in color, "Yeah, I get what you mean."

The smile returned to her face, giving him a smile nod, "Okay, see you tomorrow then."

Dipper stepped aside for her to go pass; Not without holding the door for her, of course. She thanked him on last time, and then she was gone. Dipper starts to walk back over to Bill, a sheepish smile plastered across his face. He noticed the smirk that was on Bill's face, making Dipper give him a questionable look, "What?"

"Can I have those thousand coins now?"
