You and Dipper's Age: Late 20s

~•~3rd POV~•~

You know how in all the other stories the librarians are mostly mean, quiet, old ladies who would shush you from the slightest breath that was heard? Well, that's only in the books. This is reality. And in this reality, you happen to have a really cute guy as the librarian.

Basically — for every chance you could get during your school breaks — you'd have your lunch or grade the tests you gave out to the class in the library... mostly to drool over the librarian.

He had long brown locks of hair, dark oak eyes, there's a bit of a birthmark on his forehead that you were able to spot, but it was mostly covered up from his hair. He'd always wear button up T-shirts, a different color everyday to be specific. He even wore a certain color on each day. It may have been weird, but you thought it was cute. You've noticed from all the times you've been in the library he's always had the same expression on his face— intrigued.

He's always had his rosy nose in a novel — a science fiction novel to be exact — and he always seems so focused on it. You never even seen the guy smile either. It made you curious about him, you were tempted to know more about this mysterious good looking guy. For one, why the hell is he working as a librarian when he could actually be a model?! But of course, due to your lack of social awkward personality, actually talking to him was hard enough.

So instead, watching him from a distance was the best choice. And not in the creepy way obviously.

It was a Tuesday at the Fallers High School and this was your lunch break. You were at the table you usually sat at. It wasn't too close to the front desk where he was sitting at, but it wasn't too far. The table you sat at was also perfect because it was far away from where most of the teachers or students sat and chatted with each other. Once in awhile peace and quiet was nice, especially since you were a teacher at this school and had to deal with obnoxious teenagers all day.

You had graded everything and had everything prepared for your class, so you were just eating your lunch while finishing a book had been reading for awhile. Since you just about done with your book, you decided to go and get another book to read after. You made a bookmark in your novel and made your way towards the (F/genre of books). Your fingers grazed over the surplus of books, figuring out which one to read.

Just as your hand grabbed a hold of a book that was in the middle of a pile on one of the shelves, someone spoke next to you, "Hey."

You yelped, jumping slightly, cause you to knock down the pile of books on the floor. The books scattered everywhere, making you cover you mouth with your hand, "Shit." You whispered, bending over to pick them up.

The person — which was definitely a male from his voice — chuckled softly, bending over in front of you too to help, "Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you." He said softly.

"N-no, it's alright. You don't need to-" as your eyes gazed up to look at the man, your breath hitched in your throat, and you froze.

There, in front of you, was the cute librarian. Once again, he had an intrigued look on his face, but that was the first time you heard him laugh, which honestly made your heart flutter and your cheeks flush red, "Here, let me-"

He took the pile of books from your hands into his, as he picked up the rest of the books remaining, "I startled you, the least I could do is pick up these books for you."

You were still lost with words, still trying to process this moment in your head. After he had put all the books away, he noticed you were still bending down on the floor, "...Are you going to stand up?"

"Hmm? Oh! Yes! Um-" You quickly stood up, your cheeks burning more red, "-Sorry, I um- t-thank you."

"You don't need to thank me. Like I said, I'm the one that accidentally made you drop the books-" He said, "What I was gonna say to you was– I saw you looking through the (F/genre of books) section and was gonna give you this."

He held out a book in front of you. When you looked at it, the title was (F/book in your fav genre). Your eyes widened about an inch, quickly exchanging looks between him and the novel. You blinked, "Wow... this actually happens to be my favorite book." You said, smiling slightly at the book, "I guess it wouldn't kill me to read it again."

You slowly took the book from his hands, the small smile still on your face. Looking up at him, you smiled more, "Thank you."

It was his turn for his cheeks to go red, and you could see the tiniest bit of a smile, "You're welcome."

There was a few moments of silence, the two of you just looking at each other, before you spoke, "Would it be alright if I checked this out?"

"Oh, sure." He said, the slightest bit of stuttering in his voice.

The two of you walked back towards his desk. You stood on the opposite side while he started to type on his computer, "Do you have a library card?"

"Yeah, I do." You nodded.

You dug around your pocket for your wallet. Pulling it out, you searched through cards, takin out your library one. You placed it on the desk and slid it over to him. He took it from you and swiped your card in the machine, a receipt soon starting to print out.

"Hey, um-" You spoke up, causing him to look your way, "-what's it like being a librarian? Isn't kind of... you know-?"

"-Boring?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Well I wouldn't call it that if you like working here." You said.

"You can say that." He said, "The perks about working here is that I basically know everyone in this school, from the times they've walked in and out of these library doors; Staff and students."

You raised an eyebrow at him, now you being the on intrigued, "Oh really?"

He glanced around the library, before slightly pointing at someone, "Johnathan Hudgens. Junior." He said, "He's known as one of the jocks in this school, right? Well, he's actually one of the biggest social study geeks here."

Your eyes widened slightly at him, "Seriously?"

He nodded at you, "Each time I've seen him in the library he's always got his nose buried in a book about wars or presidents."

"I wouldn't expect that from him. He's always causing trouble in my class." You said.

He pointed over to a boy and girl, "Madeline Abrums and Micheal Erens. Sophomores. They've been together since Freshman year. You can say that it's 'forbidden love' since there parents don't want them dating. They sneak out of class just to meet in the library, since it's the only place they could think no body would see them for some reason." He said, chuckling slightly.

"Wow. I didn't know that either. I guess there's a lot of drama happens here." You said.

He pointed over to another person, "Mrs. Jennifer Green. English teacher of seniors in our department. She may seem like a sweet lady, but what's she's really doing... well it's pretty bad." He said.

"Hit me. I can take it." You said.

He chuckled again, causing your cheeks to turn red, "Alright alright. Well... she's actually having an affair with her husband."

You gasped, covering your mouth, "No way! You're lying!"

"I wish I was." He chuckled again.

"So you really do know basically everyone." You said.

"Yeah well, I do know some stuff about you too." He said.

Your eyes widened slightly, and you dropped your gaze from him. Oh no. Does he know the reason why you come here everyday?

"What do you know about me?" You asked, placing your elbow onto the desk and resting your head in the palm of your hand.

"Well, your name is (Y/n) (L/n). You're a science teacher for all grades at this school. Word has gone around about you that you try to make your classes fun to make your students interested in what they're learning, which is the reason they all love you. For reason—that I haven't figured out yet—you come up into the library everyday on your lunch break or free period. Even if you teach science, you love English too. Your favorite type of books to read are (F/genre of books) because (reason why you love that genre). You also aren't married and live alone." He said.

You blinked at him, shocked from his response. Most people if they just heard a summary from a guy they haven't known until now would be running the other direction because– he could be a stalker. But you didn't run. Maybe it was his looks, but you weren't freaked out as much as any other normal being.

"Wow. Is my life really an open book?" You asked, chuckling slightly.

"No, actually. You were actually the hardest to figure out. Maybe that's what made me more curious about you." He said, tilting his head slightly.

Your cheeks went a dark red again, "So how long did it take you to figure me out."

"Let's just say it took awhile." He said, shrugging slightly, "And I've almost figured you out."

"What haven't you figured out yet?"

"For one, I haven't figured out why you always come to the library. I have an idea of what it could be, but I'm not sure exactly." He said.

You smiled slightly at him, "Tell me what you think is the reason. If it's true, I'll admit it. If it's not, I guess you'll never know."

He raised an eyebrow at me, "Okay. I think the reason is because of me."

The small smile on your face was wiped off, now you whole face turned red, "Shit." You mumbled to yourself.

He must have heard it, because he started to laugh. And for the first time, you actually saw him smiling at you, and it was probably the best thing you've ever seen.

"It's nice when you smile. You should do it more often." You blurted out accidentally.

In panic, your eyes widen and you cover your mouth shut, "I'm sorry-" you said in your hand, "-o didn't mean to say that aloud."

He chuckled at you again, this time a pink tinge appearing on his cheeks, "It's alright. Thank you for the compliment."

You moved your hand away from your mouth, giving him an awkward chuckle.

"So? Was I right?" He asked.

"Um... yeah. Yes... you are right. You caught me." You said, giving him another nervous chuckle.

"Ah, I see. I was the reason." He said, "There's was also one other thing I hadn't figured out."

"What else could you possibly not know about me?" You asked, chuckling slightly.

He leaned forward slightly, his arms resting on the desk, "Your number." He said, smirking slightly and throwing a wink at you.

You snorted with laughter, "Sly dog." You said, "And if I were to give you my number, would I be at least able to know about you?"

"Mm... I'll think about it."

"Can you give me some information about you now? Anything?"

He thought to himself for a moment, tapping his chin, "Okay. My name is Mr. Pines, but you can call me Dipper. I'm guessing you had no idea what my name was since you never said it once in our conversation."

"You figured me out again." You said, "But after I give you my number I am taking you out to dinner eventually and you are going to tell me everything about you because you already know everything about me."

Dipper smiled at you again, making your heart melt at the sight,

"Deal."
