You and Dipper's Age: 18

3rd POV

"I still can't believe you two broke it off." Mabel said half-heartedly, "I mean, you guys were perfect for each other. And you both seemed crazy for each other."

You sighed, your head resting on top of your crossed arms —that were resting on the table—, not wanting to answer why. "I mean, Halloween's in a couple of days. Now I won't be able to force you two to wear a couple's outfit." She pouted, resting her head on the palm of her cheek. "So what? Costumes are more important in this situation right now instead of my feelings?" You snapped, your head still resting upon your crossed arms.

"No... of course not." You felt Mabel place a hand onto your back, rubbing small, soothing circles, "It's just– you were all that Dipper ever talked about and now... he'd kill me if he knew who I was with right now." "Why?" You questioned, finally tasing your head. "I don't think he'd want me to be comforting you, technically the person who broke his heart." Mabel frowned slightly, removing her hand from her back. She looked down at her lap, her hands now clamped together on top of it, "I went to go comfort him first but he pushed me away. I knew you'd probably be hurting too, so i came to check up on you so... here I am."

You stared dumbfounded at her for a brief moment, before shaking your head and getting up, starting to walk out of the living room of the shack. "Hey! Where are you going?" Mabel called out, racing after. "I'm leaving the shack before Dipper comes back. i don't think he'd want to see my face." You sighed sadly, shuffling towards the door. You slipped on your shoes and grabbed your jacket from the coat hanger, swiftly putting it on. You faced Mabel for the last time before speaking, "Uh, thanks for comforting me, I guess. Make... sure you keep an eye on Dipper for me, will ya?"

"Of course. I have to anyways, he's my little bro after all." Mabel smiled sadly. You gave her a soft nod, turning around to face the door. Your hand reached out for the knob, and just as you were about to twist it open, someone on the other side had twisted it and swung it open. You suddenly became face to face with Dipper. He had a slight irritated look plastered onto his face, but when he met those familiar (E/c) eyes, his face softened to a pain expression. You heard him take in a sharp breath, then bite his bottom lip after.

"Hey... Dipper." You said dully. It was clearly obvious that he was fighting back the tears in his eyes, and without saying a word he pushed passed you, colliding your shoulder with his roughly. He made a break for it quickly upstairs. You sighed, looking down at your feet. You regret saying hi to him the way you did. Heck, you regret even saying "hi" at all. The poor guy is probably crippling apart just by the sound of your voice right now. "I'll... I'll go and check on him. See you later, (Y/n)." Mabel sighed, and with that she made her way towards the stairs, a lot slower than Dipper.

You waited until you couldn't hear the sound of Mabel's feet shuffling from above, and the sound of their bedroom door opening and closing, while still staring down at your feet. With that, you walked out of the shack, slamming the door behind you and not looking back. Not again, not ever.

____

You sat at the kitchen counter, the blaring music ringing in your ears, the tipsy teenagers slurring words vigorously to one another, spotlights flickering into your line of sight and blinding you slightly every now and then. You had been invited to a Halloween party, but due to your breakup, you didn't really feel like socializing with another living organism. It's not like you wanted to be thinking about your break, but after having that encounter with Dipper, it's really shaken you up now.

The main reason you had broken up with Dipper was-- something not great. Let's just say you were... forced to. So yeah, you guys are still probably crazy for one another, but you broke things off. You messed up your relationship. It was all your fault. Those words kept swirling around in your head. It was your fault, nonetheless, you kept denying that. You did it for the greater good. Yeah... the greater good. Maybe not for Dipper though, since he has no idea why.

Maybe it was a bit selfish, yes, but your relationship was in danger. It would have been too stressful and cause you too much anxiety, so you had to break things off. You regret every minute of it, of course. Especially when you told him this in person, and you watched the life leave his face entirely. It hurt even more when he told you to leave, and just the way he spoke to you that day— so lost and broken. You didn't even have the heart to explain to him why. He seemed too disorientated to be able to register anything you told him in that moment.

You sighed, your head resting on the palm of your hand. your hand holding a cup of fruit punch. You'd swirl the cup around, watching the substance twirl around toward the rim of the cup, as if trying to escape your grasp or the cup. Even the extremely loud music wasn't able to block these thoughts out of your mind. That is until you felt your phone vibrate in your pocket. You slipped your phone into your pocket, a bored expression on your face that was quickly replaced with a confused one.

You read the name Mabel plastered on your screen. You hopped off the stool you were sitting on and stepped outside, to hear Mabel better on the phone. You pressed the accept button once you were out of ear sight of the party, "Hello-" "(Y/n)-!" was the only word you had gotten out from the rest of her words were muffled. It sounded as if she was crying hysterically, so you tried to calm her down, "Mabel! Relax! Take a breath, and when you can breathe again, then tell me what's going on, okay?"

Mabel starts to take in deep breaths, but then she starts crying again, "Mabel, what's going on?! Are you okay?!" Without even realizing, I had started to leave the house where the party was at, starting to quickly walk down the sidewalk towards the direction of the shack. "N-No!" Mabel said, "Dipper and I were looting candy bowls at houses a-and... and I had turned around to face him and he was gone!" She weeped. "What do you mean gone?!" I questioned.

"What the heck do you think I mean gone, (Y/n)?! Gone, as in he's diddly dang not freaking here!" She yelled over the line. "Okay, calm down, Mabel, okay? Now you're just saying words that don't exist." "I will not calm down until my brother is found!" "I... I'll go look for him. If I don't call you back in the next 10 minutes, call 911." You said calmly. "Okay... okay! I can do that." "Calm down, alright? We'll find him. I promise."

Once the line ended, your feet started to lead you in a different direction. If Dipper was ever gone or trying to escape something, anything, you knew exactly where he would go. You started to sprint into the Gravity Falls woods. As you were running, the wind started to pick up speed, and clouds started to cover the clear night sky. "Dipper?!" You called out, looking around at your surroundings. You leaped over a few logs, ducking your head to avoid tree branches.

It starts to rain, the small droplets of water splashing upon your face and visible skin. By the time you reached the area, it had started to pour. Your hair whipped around as you spun your head in every direction. "Dipper where are you?!" Looking around some more, you finally stopped searching, your eyes landing on a familiar figure. You felt tears prickle in your eyes, your bottom lip quivering, "I... I'm sorry for what happened. I'm sorry for ever breaking up with you." You said aloud. You started to walk slightly closer to him, "I'm sorry Dipper. If I didn't break up with you I... you-"

"Me what?" That voice. It sounded familiar, but not Dipper's. Your eyebrows furrowed together in confusion, "D-Dipper?" You took another step closer to the figure. They were facing in the other direction, their head hanging down low. But sudden;y, their figure spun around, their head still hanging low. They let out a soft, maniacal chuckle, "What would have happened? I'm curious know..." That's when it hit you. Your eyes widened as you took a few steps back, "No... i-it couldn't be."

Their head raised up slightly, their gaze peering at you through their slightly long brown hair. Their eyes were a vibrant yellow, with a black slit going vertically down the center of the eye. They smiled at you evilly, "Why hello there, Sunshine." Bill spoke through Dipper's body, "It's great to see you again. Long time no see, aye?"

You could feel the rage start to boil in your blood. The both of you still getting drenched by the rain, you looked at the ground, finding the nearest object around you so you could bash his skull open to death. You ended up picking up a large stick. Once you did, you charged at Bipper, pushing him up against the tree. You pressed the large branch up against his neck, cutting off his breathing way. He laughs evilly at you once again, "Since when you get so violent?" his wicked smile grows more, "I like it."

"You... you promised Bill!" You yelled, the tears threatening to spill down your cheeks, "We made a deal! A deal that you wouldn't hurt Dipper if I broke up with him!" "And I kept that promise, didn't I?" Bipper started, motioning to Dipper's body, "Pretty sure there's still blood flowing through his veins still. His heart's beating, a mile a minute actually since you're here. Or maybe it's because I'm here?" He chuckles maniacally again. You growled at him, pressing the large stick harder into his esophagus, "This... this still counts as hurting him!" "Actually, no it doesn't. I didn't force him to give me his body." Bipper started, "He's the on who wanted to make a deal with me."

You slightly let your guard down, taking in a sharp inhale of breath, "He... wanted to make a deal?" "That's what I just said, didn't I?" "For... what though?" "Well-" Bipper started, raising his free hand up to tap his chin, "Pinetree here summoned me, asking for a small favor if you know what I mean, and in return... I wanted something from him." "What did he want?" Bipper smirks at you, "He wanted every memory with you erased from his brain."

A pang of pain struck you in your chest, and you physically winced, which only caused Bipper to smirk more. This time you couldn't stop the tears that started to flow from your cheeks, but his words only caused you to get more frustrated with him. You pressed the stick as hard as you could against his neck, getting right up in his face, "You're lying you worthless, piece of trash." Bipper laughs quietly, lowering his head, before slightly peering through the fringe of hair again, the mad expression never drifting away from his face, "You don't believe me?"

"Why on earth would I ever trust a dream demon who makes twisted deals with innocent people for their advantage." "Says the girl who-" "yeah I know I made a deal with you, but you threatened me to make this deal with you. If I didn't you would have killed Dipper, what was I supposed to freaking do, Bill?!" He continues to smirk at you, "Fine, since you don't believe me." His free hand raised up, snapping his two fingers together. A visual of some dreamscape came into view through a small peering box. In this dreamscape was a giant metal cage, and inside this cage was none other then Dipper himself.

He was banging his fists up against the cold, metal bars, "Bill! Let me out of here!" he had yelled, "I swear if you lay one finger on (Y/n) or Mabel you're dead!" He slammed his fists against the bars a couple more times, before his hands slid down them. He hung his head low, slowly falling to the surface of the cage. He curled himself into a tight ball, his back pressed up against the bars. "D-Dipper?" You weakly spoke.

You slowly started to drop the large stick, slowly walking towards the visual scene. "Dipper!" You yelled a little louder, "Dipper can you hear me! I'm right here!" "He can't hear you from in there. This is only just a mirror of where he is right now." Before you could react, he snaps his fingers, making the image disappear. You felt Bipper tightly grip your neck and swiftly pushing you up against the same tree he was pressed up against. You choked on your own air, struggling to breath. His smirk remained on his face, "You see? He isn't hurt, just as I promised. He's just in a better place now. And thanks to you, I have a new puppet to control." Your eyes widened at his words, "You.. you set me up!" You yelled, "YOU SET ME UP TO RUIN DIPPER!!"

"Of course, what do you think this all was about?" Bipper shrugged, "I needed my revenge on him, so I went to the person I knew that could crush him completely-" He tightened his grip more around your neck, making you start coughing and hacking, "-you." He finally let go of your neck, and you fell straight to the ground. You gripped onto the sapping wet grass inhaling and exhaling quickly, couching every second. "Since my work here is done, I'll be on my way now. I wish you luck to sort out your messed up relationship." He gives you a sideways, evil smirk.

As he started to stroll off, you made an attempt to go after him. You weakly and shakily stood from the ground, gripping your neck lightly. You started to run after him, tears pouring down your cheeks. But just before you could reach him, Bipper turned around quickly and catching you off guard. He rose his hand, a blue magical orb swirling around it. His powers push you back up against the same tree once again, your back slamming into it hard. You slid down the rough trunk, your head hanging low in defeat. Bipper chuckles at you for the final time, "You still think you're more powerful than me, don't you? Pity." Bipper said. You remained silent, not stopping the tears now. You started to shiver from still getting drenched in the rain and the strong breeze hitting you.

"Oh, and before I forget," Bipper begin, "Happy day of the dead." And with that, the evil demon is gone, leaving you to drown in your own tears in pain and brutal.

Happy Halloween~
