"Get up Y/n get up!" Y/n was woken up by Sylvia panicking.
Y/n got up and grabbed a hoodie "what's going on it's 4am!" The tired girl rubs her eyes.
Sylvia grabs her hand and runs out of there dorm.

Y/n Carter PoV-

"Sylvia what's going on let go!" I try to get my hand out of Sylvia's strong grip but I can't , she looked genuinely terrified.
As we make it to our common room I notice all the slytherins are down there .
Along with Snape .
"There have been reports of death eaters near Hogwarts , everyone must file out though the the main door towards the hall immediately!" He shouts , everyone gasps but does as he says .
"Look I know slytherin's have this whole stigma you know that we are meant to be mean , believe in blood purity and have death eater parents and one day be like them but I'm not! I'm not like that! , I'm scared Y/n" Sylvia whispers to me as she holds my hand as we enter the hall.

I squeeze her hand and smile at the girl to try and reassure her.
"We are going to be fine I'll protect you" I love Pansy and she was one of the people who made me feel welcome . But me and Sylvia's friendship was different I felt like I was her big sister and needed to protect her.
She wasn't like the rest of the slytherin's she was in a way like me.
We both sit against the back wall along with all the slytherin's in our year.
I noticed one person hadn't come in yet .
Riddle.

As if Harry could read my mind he quickly looked at me and gave me a worried look as he sat in front with the Griffindoor's.
I gulp and keep my eyes pealed to the door .
"Everyone settle down!" Dumbledore's voice boomed as they shut the doors .
"We think it's a false alarm but to make sure everyone is safe for tonight you all will sleep in here!" Everyone starts to moan and complain that we have to sleep on the floor.
Of course we had sleeping bags but the floor was still cold and uncomfortable.
As Dumbledore continued.
The doors open again .

Everyone turns quickly to see who it is.
It was of course Riddle and the new boy Malachai Rosier. I didn't know they knew each other?
But I guess why would I , the boy had only just got here yesterday this was his first night at Hogwarts lucky him , having to sleep on the floor.
Everyone starts to whisper and glare at them especially Riddle .
The two boys make there way to the back where the slytherin's were .
Mattheo spots Sylvia and me so decides to sit with us as all the rest of our group was spilt up and it was already very crowded so hard to find people you know .

"Thank you for joining us! As I was saying it's probably nothing to worry about-..." Dumbledore makes this whole there is no danger speech and it goes on for ever .
I wasn't really paying attention as I noticed
Mattheo staring at me .
Our gazes met for the first time properly since I started my project with the trio . I turn away from the boy and play with my hands.
"You ok?" I quickly look towards Mattheo as I hear him speak to me but he was looking at Dumbledore?
How the fuck-
I thought he couldn't read my mind?
How the fuck did he get in my head?

He finally looks at me waiting for me to answer him.
I nod awkwardly at the boy and he smirks shaking his head as he listens to Dumbledore again.
I thought about it more . He wasn't reading my mind he was sending messages to it?
But how? Muggles call it telepathy but I thought If he couldn't READ my mind then he surely wouldn't be abled to send messages?

Mattheo Riddle PoV

I wanted to make sure she was ok because she looked very unsettled.
Also I knew that she was snooping around , giving me weird looks just like the rest of the school and I knew if I sent her a mind message she would have to talk to me, she wouldn't be abled to help it she would be too curious.
Maybe I could get answers if she actually started talking to me again .
Maybe she would tell me what she was doing with Potter and his friends?.

I wondered if her Occlumency gene stopped mind messages .
She said she didn't know what Occlumency was let alone how to use it so if that's true maybe she can only block me from reading her mind and influencing it not sending harmless messages though .

Of course it might not work I didn't know if she was telling the truth about not knowing she had the rare gene.
If she did lie she probably could block anyone or anything.
I still have to give it a go to see.
I watched her as she heard my voice in her head , lucky for her, the gene is powerful my messages can't influence her they are only there for her to hear and reply to.
She could block them out if she wanted to it is just a matter of learning how.

I keep my eyes on Dumbledore and then I feel her staring at me so I look at her raising my brows waiting for her answer.
She nods awkwardly , she looks really confused I loved it .

Dumbledore and the teachers started giving out sleeping bags plus other essentials for the night .
We were all told to get into a line according to house and year .
My year started to lay down our stuff for the night .
I was next to Y/n . I put my sleeping bag down and sat on it .
When she sets hers down and does the same she glares at me .
"What Carter?" I roll my eyes at the girl .
She laughs at me.
"Did you really have to set up your sleeping bag next to mine?" She sounds irritated.

"No but I thought hey? Why not" I smirk at the girl as I lay back looking up at the roof of the hall.
"Of course you did because you love getting on my nerves" she was still sat up not ready to leave it.
Every other house was still setting up there sleeping areas so the hall was very noisy.
"Don't flatter yourself Carter you act like I'm obsessed with you but I think we both know that isn't true considering your the one who keeps snooping around" she huffs at my rude comment.
She then shuffled closer to me and grabs my collar now sitting me up .
Our faces were close as she angrily whispers into my face.

"How'd you do it how'd you get in my head" I couldn't help but smirk , I knew by sending mind messages to her that she would have to talk to me.
I look down at her hand griping my collar and smile "you can block my messages if you want , your letting them in not me" her grip tightens and she shoves me back as she sits back on her sleeping bag away from me.
I turn around facing the front of the hall , smiling.
"What was that about?" Kai had sat his sleeping bag next to mine. Great. This is going to be a amazing night.

"Mind your own business Kai" I roll my eyes now laying on my back again.
"I'm Malachi Rosier but i perfer Kai" this son of a bitch just introduced himself to Y/n .
God I hate him.
"I'm Y/n Carter , nice to meet you" she smiles not really knowing why Kai was speaking to her.

"How do you know Mattheo then?" He asks Y/n casually.
"Really Kai? I told you to mind your own fucking business" I now sit up between the two who were now having a convo.
"Sorry it was just a question I was curious" Kai holds his hand up in surrender.

"It's fine , me and Riddle share a friendship group that's all" she says this harshly as she smirks at me .
"Oh cool so he's not your boyfriend then?" I was about to kill Kai , why couldn't he just fuck off.
"God no I would rather have Snape as my boyfriend then him!" She sounded shocked that Kai would even assume that we were together.
I fake laugh at her and roll my eyes.
"So you're single then?" He finally asks her .
I keep my cool and pretend I'm not listening to the convo.
"Yeh I am" Y/n smirks at Kai as Sylvia runs up to Y/n after she was off getting water.

"Here I got you water" Sylvia smiles at Carter and hands her the cup .
"Thanks"
"Who's this pretty lady" Kai asked Sylvia.
"I'm Sylvia Roy and you are?-" I laughed at Sylvia's bluntness.
"I'm Kai Rosier I'm Mattheo's friend" this asshole was certainly not my friend.
"Oh how do you guys know each other?" Y/n again chimes in to the conversation.
She was digging for something I could tell ,
she wanted info on me?

"Family , were family friends" I interrupt Kai before he says something stupid.
"I was asking Kai" y/n fake smiles at me .
She's a bitch.
"Yeh just family , we've know each other since we were little" Kai backs me up

"Right everyone settle down now and get some rest , classes won't start still late as this has happened" Dumbledore finally shouts over everyone.
"Good night ladies" Kai winks at both Sylvia and Y/n.
I wanted to punch that smirk right off his face.
"Good night" Sylvia and Y/n practically said in unison.
"Night" I say laying down.
"Night , try not to roll onto me in the night or I will kill you" Y/n rolls over away from me.
"Trust me I'll keep my distance" I scoff finally turning away from her also.
