~Hooriyah

The icy cold marble floor sparkled with immense spirituality while the tall red bricked walls and roofs which were beautifully carved with Arabic verses, flaunted their purely ancient Asian design which further sprinkled Divine Mercy wherever my astonished gaze fell.

The perfectly designed domes and Minar of the Mosque brewed more magic in the already blissful air.

Badshahi Mosque was one of the most beautiful Mosques in our country. And it was always my dream to visit this legendary monument, which I had only seen in the pictures before.
Thankfully, Alizeh came with me to fulfill this heartfelt wish of mine for which I had been insisting her since two days after her bridal shower.

It felt so peaceful after praying here as if Allah's Noor and Mercy was directly being bestowed upon my sinful soul.

"Hooriyah!" Alizeh interrupted my peaceful thoughts.

"Hmm..?"

"Make sure that you do your Nikkah ceremony in Badshahi Mosque! Okay?" She grinned satanically as my eyes popped out with amazement.

"Shut up, let's leave now!" I tried hard to stop myself from blushing.

As soon as we got free from the Zuhr prayers, we headed back towards the house where lots of guests and Alizeh's relatives were expected to arrive today.

...............................

I finally laid down on my bed as the tiredness produced layers of sweet but clumsy pain throughout the sore muscles and tendons of my body, but not willing to have a nap right now, I decided to fetch my sketchbook out and start sketching.

Sketching was my most favorite hobby and I would spend hours and hours while sketching whatever I dearly loved or adored.

Lost in my tranquil thoughts while professionally striking the charcoal pencil across the paper, I failed to notice the changing hues of the magical weather outside. It was getting darker and more darker by every passing minute which was actually threatening a heavy downpour!

And then as it was expected, an abrupt thunderous burst of the dark tumultuous clouds was enough to spread a layer of excitement and ecstasy throughout the mansion. Within a few seconds, the melodious and soothing sound of heavy rainfall made me jump enthusiastically from my bed as I immediately threw my sketchbook on the nearby sofa and crazily ran towards Alizeh's room.

"ALIZEEHHHHHHHHH!!!! It's raining it's raining. Come on get up sleepy head!" I shouted excitedly as soon as I burst open her door, but this lazy soul didn't move an inch from her bed.

It was around 6 in the evening and I was continuously begging Alizeh to join me outside in the rain, but adamant to not to listen to me, she kept on sleeping like an animal who has gone for hibernation since lots of years!!!!!!!!!!!

"Uffff Alizeh get up idiot! Or else we will miss all the fun pleaseee come outside please please pleaseee!!" I begged for the umpteenth time as I shook her lazy form as wildly as I could.

"Urgggh! Hoor let me sleep naaaa, just for few more minutes please!" She groaned.

"Who the hell sleeps at this time...? Get up or else____" I paused.

"Or else ???" Alizeh asked in her half sleepy voice.

"Or else your brother will finish all those delicious pakoras and chutney which Aunty is busy in making right now!" I giggled.

Alizeh immediately jumped out of the bed and started tying her hair into a messy bun as she quickly slid her slippers across her feet.

"You should have woken me up before you fool! Come on lets go or else that idiot won't even leave a single pakora for me! Come quickly!"

Amazingly, now she was the one who was dragging me outside the room impatiently.

Downstairs, the atmosphere was totally different and beautiful as Mrs.Shehroze was busy making some delightful mouthwatering snacks which were a perfect combination with this weather, while Alizeh's relatives were busy doing chit chat and laughing hilariously. Some of her relatives like her grandparents, uncles and aunts were extremely friendly, joyful and loving. They were treating me as if I was from their own family. The resplendence of this beautiful atmosphere made my heart feel extremely enlightened!

Alizeh quickly ran towards the kitchen to grab her favorite pakorey and chutney to relish its scrumptious taste along with this beautiful weather.

P.S: Sorry in advance😂😳)

"Don't eat more than one, or else you would look like a fat flying elephant on your wedding day!" Shahveer mocked .

"Mommmmm!" Alizeh complained angrily.

"Shavi, don't be so rude with your little sister. You are going to be the first one who will miss her after her wedding." Mrs. Shehroze laughed.

"Or perhaps the first one to be the happiest!" He chuckled.

Alizeh threw a large potato which was peacefully resting on the slab before, at Shahveer, which unfortunately did not hit his face.

He laughed like an evil and ran out of the kitchen, before Alizeh could throw two or three more.

What a hilarious evening it was!

Alizeh and I finally came out in the garden to fulfill our rainy cravings and started enjoying like two desperate crazy monkeys while hooting and singing our favorite 90's Bollywood songs with our awful voices. She intentionally splashed and jumped on the puddle to completely ruin my neat and clean outfit and that's when I started chasing her and we ran like crazy women across the full length of the garden. We laughed crazily as we felt each and every drop of the heavy downpour trickle down through our skins making us feel overwhelmed with ecstasy.

I remembered how everyone used to tease me back at home, by saying " Rain is for Hooriyah, and Hooriyah is for rain!" And I loved this phrase a lot!!!

Cool breeze, dark grey horizon, wet moist grass which beautifully emanated petrichor throughout the peaceful atmosphere , a blissful rainy whether and one extremely crazy best friend of yours!

What else one could ask for, to be more luckier than this?

It was the most beautiful day of my life!

Still busy in our awkward and mischievous actions, we failed to notice the interference of a highly annoyed person.

"Who in their right mind gets wet in the rain and that too, intentionally?" He asked while a cringed look was constantly plastered on his charming face.

A pure jerk, he was! Indeed.

Who the hell in their right mind, would even hate rain?

Rain is such a delightful magic!

Rain is eternal bliss. It always spreads sparkle everywhere.

Only a stony-hearted soul could hate this beautiful blessing of Allah.

What an idiot he was!

Alizeh mischievously stared her brother and insisted him to come outside as he watched us from the balcony of his room.

Shit! That means , all this while, he was watching us?

SHIT SHIT SHIT!

I felt extremely embarrassed.

"Come on, why would I ruin my clothes by coming outside. I'm not a fool like you!" He gave an annoyed look.

"Bhayi, Its a beautiful blessing of Allah. What's wrong in enjoying the rain?" Alizeh tried to forcefully call him once again so that he could join her outside in the garden.

"Not at all! I hate rain and you know it very well. I don't wanna make a fool of myself like you two!" He complained again at which Alizeh stuck her tongue out at him.

"Get lost!" She almost barked upon him.

Interesting! Very interesting! It's so interesting to know that my heart is attached to the one who's soul is extremely opposite of mine. I wanted to give a standing ovation and a huge round of applause to this person.

We continued enjoying the beautiful downpour until a loud unpleasant horn dragged our attention.

The white Mercedes stopped right in front of the main gate and the driver came out to open the door of the back seat.

A skinny model like figure, wearing a pair of shiny red pencil heels, skin tight badly ripped jeans along with a sleeveless red colored top, confidently came out of the car as if she had arrived at her own house. Her light brown wavy hair were tied into a messy bun revealing few long strands which she twirled in a seductive way. She kept on chewing something that seemed like a bubble gum, while her strong piercing gaze searched for something as if it was long lost. Not to forget, she kept on striking her bright red colored lipstick on her pouty lips to make sure that she looked like a gorgeous diva, which she simply wasn't!

"Ma'am, shall I take your luggage inside your room?" The driver asked.

"Well I certainly haven't planned to stay in this garage for the next two weeks! Right old man? Now take all of this mess and put it in my room, real quick, WITHOUT BREAKING A SINGLE THING! Now Go!!! "

She commanded, in an extremely rude manner.

"Yes ... Ma'am" The poor man quickly grabbed the suitcase and went inside.

"Idiot!" She mumbled under her breath.

"Soniya??" An extremely elated Shahveer immediately came outside with a huge grin plastered across his face.

"Oh Shahveer!!!" The girl walked as fast as she could and without wasting any second, she hugged him tightly.

My eyes immediately popped out with horror as my heart raced wildly.

Sonya? Was she the same girl Shahveer was talking to through a video call, few days back when I came in his room?

"These two weeks without you seemed like two centuries darling! " She batted her eyelashes while feigning innocence, still not ready to leave his embrace.

My blood boiled like lava, while my hands clenched into a fist, as I eyed them with my red fearsome eyes.

Was this jealousy? No, I guess it was something more extreme than that!

"Thank God you are finally here Soniya! I missed you so much dear, come in, let me introduce you to my family! They would be extremely happy to meet you." He finally released himself from her tight grip.

I finally looked at Alizeh who stood there frozen as if she had seen a ghost, knowing that what I was going to ask her next.

"She's just one of the friends from his university's group. A very close friend of Bhayi. He had invited her for my wedding!!" She smiled while trying to answer my unasked questions.

"Oh!" A painful sigh left my mouth.

"Let's go inside!" I smiled weakly.

"But we just came outside a few minutes ago!" Alizeh complained.

"Yeah, but I am feeling a bit tired, and I have to offer my prayers too, I am sorry!" I smiled again, trying my best to not let those unwanted tears come out from my eyes.

"Hoor, are you okay?" She asked with nervousness while holding my hands with love.

" Yeah! Yeah I am fine"

I finally left the garden and went inside my room, because if I had stood there for few more seconds, I would have burst into uncountable ,merciless and painful tears!

I quickly offered my prayers and laid down on my bed trying my best to forget what had happened lately. But failing to do so, I burst into a storm of tears and started crying mercilessly like a baby as if someone has stolen something which was purely mine! I don't know why my heart was fearing so much? Alizeh said that she was just a friend. Then why was my heart causing me so much pain? Why was it behaving like a highly over possessive child? Don't know why but it felt as if someone has placed my fragile body, over the bed full of needles and thorns!

Unable to control myself, I cried for hours and hours until my head started to hurt, something it was a pro at, whenever I cried and that's when I finally decided to wholly submit myself into the hands of a deep, painful slumber.
