"Your identity card, sir?" A guy with a deep voice asked one of us as we raced towards the entrance.

"Duh....Hey Shavi, please show your passport to him, we don't keep ID cards along with us all the time, we are men, not kids okay?" Carlos gritted his teeth as he glared the innocent guy.

"Here!" I took out a blue colored passport from the pocket of my jeans and waved it in front of that silly guy.

"Is that how you treat someone who comes from UK?" I threw a taunt straight towards his face.

"No No not at all, come in Sir, the club is all yours for tonight!" The guy's expressions changed within a few seconds and he chirped happily as if he had won a lottery of 1 million dollars.

As soon as two muscular guards, wearing a black suit and dark sunglasses, pushed open the purple colored gigantic door for us, a powerful blow of chilled refreshing breeze punched all of us simultaneously.

"Woaaaahhhh!!" All seven of us shouted with enthusiasm, as it had been two weeks since we had planned to pull an all-nighter in a nightclub together.

The alcoholic aroma, loud beats of Hollywood music, hooting and shouting crazy elite class and a-headache-giving-dance of crazy and flamboyant neon lights across the stage, welcomed us all in an extremely joyous way, something which I was craving for so badly!

It had been three days since I was spending some quality time with my squad in Islamabad as we wanted some break from those boring wedding functions in Lahore and party hard, like we actually did back in Manchester. And finally after the immense struggle of searching nightclubs day and night, we were finally here!

It was 1 A.M and this was the right time to quench our alcoholic thirsts.

"Two freaking icy glasses of Extra AƱejo Tequila, one Irish whiskey, two cans of Schwarzbier and two bottles of the best brandy in town, please!" I winked at the bartender who grinned back at me.

"Seems like you know a lot about alcohol? " She asked in what looked like an attractive manner which of course, failed to attract me in anyway.

"Oh Yeah, I have just completed my P.H.D in the subject of ASDB" I smirked as I eyed her with my deadly gaze.

"ASDB as in?" She giggled.

"Alcoholic studies for drunk bachelors and also had done my Masters in the Champagne Sciences from UK and now if you don't mind can I get my drinks...PLEASE?" I finally gave her an annoyed look as talking to bartenders was not my cup of tea.

She quickly placed the order on the table as I called my gang which was busy dancing like some professional beggars on the dimly lit stage.

"Cheeeeersssss!!!!!!"

We shouted in unison as all of us picked our glasses and raised them in the air.

"Let the fun begin!" Melissa laughed with excitement.

As I gulped the whole can of beer in ten seconds, I started feeling extremely elated as my mind started to feel dizzy and my vision started to get blurry. This was the most beautiful feeling in the world, for me.

The feeling of ecstasy!

The party went lit as we continuously drank, danced with the gorgeous ladies, gambled and played cards for the rest of the night in the club.

Dancing like a total maniac, I drunk as much as I could and sang the Hollywood songs at the top of my lungs along with my friends.
Within few seconds, I had completely surrendered myself to the after effects of the alcohol as I wanted to enjoy each and every second of this night.

As I danced with Soniya, I failed to notice how quickly the time was flying.

"You are the most beautiful thing ever happened to me." I smirked as we danced along some romantic tunes.

"And you are the most handsome and the smartest boyfriend one could ever ask for! Love you!" She smiled cunningly while bringing a fresh bottle of brandy for me.

"Love you more, babes! I feel so lucky to call you mine. Can't wait to talk to Mom and Dad about our relationship."
I winked at her while gulping down the whole bottle within few seconds.

"You are mine, only mine, understood?" She winked back.

"All yours, darling!" I saluted her in a dramatic way, to which she giggled seductively.

"Bye sweetie see you tomorrow!" She waved her hand while giving me a flying kiss.

Completely drenched in drunkenness, and tired from partying all night, I unintentionally fell on the nearby sofa as my eyes drowned with the heaviness of intoxication and within the blink of an eye, I passed out.

.........

Around 6 in the morning, an unfamiliar yet soothing sound from outside, brought me back to my senses as I rubbed my eyes with my knuckles and tried to lift my body from the sofa which felt extremely heavier than before. My head was spinning with dizziness as I tried to rub my temples to ease the headache, but to no avail. I tried to focus on my surroundings as I recognized some of my friends lying carelessly on the tables, chairs and sofas and sleeping in the same way as I was, while some of them had already left for the hotel to spend their night peacefully.

The sound started to get louder and louder as it echoed in the air, outside the nightclub. I finally got up to listen where this melodious sound was coming from.

"Hayya Alas Salah , Hayya Alas Salah, Hayya Alal Falah, Hayya Alal Falah...."

(Come towards prayer, come towards success)

The words of the Adhan echoed beautifully in the air as I tried to concentrate on them, unintentionally.
Don't know why, but these words were sprinkling a layer of tranquillity over my soul.
It's not that I had never heard it before, but this one was different, totally different!

I came out of the club and silently stood on the slippery wet road to witness the tranquillity. It felt as if someone was calling me. Someone was calling me towards the path of happiness, path of blessings and the path of success.

But I was already happy and blessed more than anyone else on this planet.

And success? What is success?

I was successful in each and every field of my life. Be it my studies, be it my career, be it my other life goals.

I had already achieved each and everything I had ever wished for.
Then who was calling me towards success? What else can bring success to my life when I had the most expensive and branded things in my possession?

I stared the horizon blankly which was slowly embracing the new hues of a blissful sunrise. I started feeling empty all of a sudden and my mind started to spin again.

After effects of the overconsumption of alcohol, perhaps!

"You up so early dude?" Interrupted Rayyan, from nowhere.

"Yeah, was just wondering!" I smirked while lighting up my cigarette as I placed it between my lips.

"Wondering what?" He asked.

"What is Hayya Alal Falah ?" I stared at him, waiting for an answer, while the sound of the Adhan started to fade away.

"Come towards the path of success!" He replied as if it was that simple.

"I know that, jerk!" I gave him an annoyed look.

"Then?" He asked with curiosity.

"What's the path towards success?" I asked while exhaling the smoke out.

He paused.

"The one which we had enjoyed, last night!" Rayyan laughed out loud as if making fun of something.

"What a jerk, you are!" I laughed and shook my head, still not satisfied with the answer!

Mrs. Shehroze chirped with happiness as she admired the beautiful bride to be, who was sitting angrily on her bed continuously swearing her brother.

"What happened Alizeh?" I asked while laughing.

"Who the hell on Earth escapes to another city, and that too just two days before your sister's wedding??" She complained as tears brimmed in her eyes.

"Uh Oh Alizeh... Don't worry my child, he is just going to return tonight, it's just that he wanted to explore Pakistan with his friends and you know very well how much these desi functions irritate him! He just wanted some fresh air that's it."
Mrs. Shehroze caressed her cheeks.

"But was exploring Pakistan more important than me? He is surely gonna regret once I am gone for good!" She mumbled.

I watched her silently with helplessness as she wiped her tears innocently like a small baby. She was right. What sort of man was he? Did he even care about her sister?

"He doesn't deserve me!" Alizeh complained.

"Let him come, then you can pour all the lava which is boiling inside you, upon him. Okay sweetie?" I consoled her.

"Yes of course, you have all rights to utter as many foul words on your brother as you want!"

Amidst her complaining sessions, suddenly a deep familiar voice interrupted from the entrance of the room.

All of us immediately turned, only to see Shahveer standing with all the coolness and swag he could afford, as he smiled while looking at her teary little sister.

"You are the worst brother one could ask for!" Alizeh stared him angrily.

"But you are the best sister one could ask for!" He smiled sheepishly, pathetically melting my heart away.

"I hate you! I hate you! I hate you! Go enjoy with your friends, after all why the hell should I deserve your company? I am telling you Bhayi, once I leave for Dubai, you are going to regret a lot and cry daily for hours and hours while missing me!"

The argument and sessions of resentment continued for another half an hour as Shahveer tried to apologize to her but she was adamant to listen to any of his excuses.

"What if I tell you that I have brought something really special for you, will you forgive me then?" He smirked while pulling out a beautifully wrapped pink colored box from his bag which was resting on the floor.

"Cupcakes and doughnuts for my one and only!" He smiled as he took few steps towards Alizeh and handed her the box, to which her expressions changed real quick from arrogant to the most cheerful one.

"You bought cupcakes for me?"Her eyes twinkled with joy as she chirped happily.

I remember how much she was fond of cupcakes and doughnuts since our childhood and how Shahveer always used to cheer her sister up by buying the most favorite delights for her.

" You know what ? You are the best brother in the world!" Alizeh politely punched his arm while stuffing a strawberry cupcake inside her mouth.

Mrs. Shehroze and I giggled while watching this beautiful scene.

"And you know what? Don't eat more than one or else you would look like a dancing buffalo on the day of your wedding!" Shahveer innocently applied the chocolate from the doughnuts on her rosy cheeks and burst into laughter.

"Roast in hell!" Alizeh pouted angrily, to which he hugged her tightly.

"I am sorry, and I love you!" He kissed her forehead.

"Love you too, idiot!" Alizeh giggled.

"God knows when will their childishness end?" Mrs. Shehroze chuckled while leaving the room.

"Now I will just go and freshen up myself, if you allow me to do so Your Highness?" He smiled.

"Yeah, leave now!" Alizeh chuckled.

"Okay then, enjoy with your bestie, she might have some horror stories to share with you about her nightmares!"

My eyes popped out with horror as Shahveer winked at me while leaving the room. Why was he so shameless?

Urrrghhhhhh!!!

"Nightmares? What's he talking about?" Alizeh asked me with curiosity.

"Nothing, your brother's just an idiot! Now tell me, are you feeling better?" I smiled.

"Much better. He is perhaps the only man on Earth who knows how to cheer Alizeh up when she is pissed off as hell!" She giggled.

"No doubt!" I smiled.

"Now you take some rest, you must be tired." I got up to leave her room but she suddenly held my arm, stopping me from going.

"What?" I laughed.

"What's the plan?" She asked with a serious tone as she raised one of her eyebrows.

"What do you mean ?" I stared her blankly.

"You are leaving in three days aren't you?" She asked.

A chilled layer of shiver ran down my spine as I recalled.

"Will you leave without telling him anything?" There was a deep soul crushing pain hidden inside her voice.

"What are you talking about Alizeh?" I pretended as if I knew nothing.

"You better tell him soon or else I have no option other than telling him by myself!" She finally announced.

I gasped her with horror.

"Shahveer Bhayi is going to leave for Manchester within a week and you will leave for Murree just after my wedding! Do you want to wait for another decade to confess your feelings you stupid?" She eyed me with anger.

I remained silent.

"For heaven's sake Hooriyah, everyone except that idiot, knows that you madly love him, Mom Dad, everyone! Even your own parents know this since your childhood. The feelings you are hiding from everyone, have been long exposed in front of them since you don't even know. Every little action of yours, every little care of yours towards him, every little present sent by you to him throughout these 18 years were never left unnoticed by any of us. The letters you used to send him, the beautiful gifts you used to send him, I have seen each and everything with my own eyes. Do you know who does these things for a person whom they haven't even met since almost two decades? Only those who truly and madly love someone with the depths of their hearts and that is the truth! You love him, but you fear to confess it!" She sighed.

"How.. How do you know all this??" I stammered.

" Well of course, we share the same house, I used to read each and every letter which you had sent for him! Your sister Iman had told me thousands of times that how much you are serious in this matter!" She giggled shamelessly.

Wow! Just Wow!! Standing ovation for this hypocrisy!

"But......But did he even see any of those letters? Did he ever reply to them? Did he ever open any of those gifts? He didn't !" I smiled weakly.

"Because he is not fond of gifts and he didn't get time to read those letters. Whenever you sent him a letter he would rather be busy in his studies, or football tournaments or other events. But I am sure he will read them once you confess your feelings to him!" She squeezed my hands.

"That's purely illogical, Alizeh! I am afraid !" I replied with annoyance.

" Okay, then Congratulations! Congratulations for wasting the entire 18 years of your life for someone who doesn't even know what he is for you! Congratulations for wasting each and every second of your life thinking about and loving the person who doesn't even know that a silly and stupid girl had been praying for him since her childhood! Congratulations for not fighting with your fear for the sake of your love! Congratulations for ruining the meaning of love!" She angrily switched off the lamps and laid down on her bed, turning her back towards me.

"Alizeh!" I whispered.

"Don't talk to me, leave!" She shouted.

"Alizeh please listen to me! Do you think it's that easy? Do you think I am just giving up? Do you even know how much I had waited for the day to speak up about my feelings? I am also dying to talk to him and tell him everything that I had rehearsed in my head since years! It's really easy for a boy to confess, but it's extremely difficult for a girl to do likewise!" I murmured politely.

She finally got up from her pillow and faced me as her expressions started to normalize slowly.

"Did you come here only to go back empty handed?" She asked with a voice lighter than a feather.

"I only came to attend your wedding!"

"Don't lie Hoor!" She replied angrily.

"Don't delay it anymore. Or else you will regret it later!" She added.

I remained silent. I could feel goosebumps raise all over my body as she tried to convince me. My heart started racing faster and faster. She was right. I didn't want to regret about it later.

"Know you worth Hooriyah. If it was so difficult for a woman to confess her feelings to a man, why would Hazrat Khadija R.A propose to Holy Prophet Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him?" She smiled.

I was speechless. There was nothing but just silence, in this dimly lit peaceful room.

"He needs you Hoor! He needs you!" Tears started to brim in her eyes.

I stared at her teary eyes, blankly.

Did he?

"He needs your light. He needs your presence! He is a dark and horribly ruptured building. He needs someone to provide him with a lantern. A lantern which can guide him to the righteous path. And you are that lantern, Hooriyah!"

A tiny seed of hope and courage started to grow inside my heart as her words acted like a beautiful motivation for me.

"If this is not the right time, then I don't know when it will be....but just know one thing! It is Allah Who has given you this opportunity, and if you fail to avail it, I'm afraid you will never get this opportunity again in your life!"

I gasped her with horror.

No, I can't let this happen! Never!

"And that stupid and arrogant Soniya is getting so close to Bhayi, that I am afraid she might snatch something which was always meant to be yours! You don't have much time left dear!" Alizeh gave me a worried look.

"No!" I stood up at once.

"It won't happen, don't say like this please!" I begged.

"It's the truth. She is after him like a total maniac!"

I started panicking.

"That evil lady certainly has that audacity to manipulate my parents mind! You have to show your part now Hoor!" She warned.

It was getting out of hands now. I seriously had to confess now before it gets too late.

"If you don't feel like doing so, I can help you by playing my part!" Alizeh
