"I can't believe that I am giving up on my dreams just because my parents want their company reach to higher levels. Ah... Jinjja! They really don't care about me, all they care about is themselves and their money" I say to myself while waiting for my flight to arrive.

*Flashback*

It was a great day at the university. We spent the whole day at the laboratory observing a lot of biological activities that take place in a cell; completely fascinating. I was on my way back to my apartment with my boyfriend and my phone went off; it was my dad. It's surprising that my dad is calling me at this hour because I am right now in America and its noon so it's going to be early morning for him. I pick up the call;

"Yeoboseyo... Y/n"

"Annyeonghehaseyo appa"

"Are you done with your classes already?"

"Nae appa... I was on my way to the apartment. How have you been? Is everything alright cause you don't usually call me at this hour"

"I am completely fine. I just wanted to know when this semester of yours is going to end"

"Ah... three more weeks and I'll be done with this semester appa. I don't think I can visit you this time, I have a lot of work to complete and have to prepare a lot for my exams."

"Y/n... I and your omma want to talk to you about something important. We are coming to America day after tomorrow. I hope you are fine with that."

"Oh... did something happen at work?"

"Aniyo... Let's talk about it when we meet. Take care for now."

"Arasso... take care. Saranghaeyo appa"

He didn't reply and just hung up- which definitely means that something is fishy. I shrug the negative thoughts off and get back to my apartment.

Two days later

My parents had arrived right on time. I told them I would come to the airport to get them but they refused- obviously, why would a business man of one of the leading and rich companies in Korea will want to come in a taxi with his daughter. They were here only for a day.

My mom being herself had brought me some clothes and Korean cosmetics that I love the most. She completely knows her daughter when it comes to gifts.

After having our lunch we all sat in the living room since my parents wanted to talk as mentioned earlier.

"Y/n dear, what we are going to tell you is very important for our company to run successfully and raise to higher altitudes. So please try to understand." My dad said.

I nodded even if I didn't care about the company so much. My dad's company was already one among the top ten in Korea, and he still wants to go higher? Seriously?

"You will no more be continuing your further studies in America. You'll get back to Korea as soon as you complete this semester and join the family business." My mom said.

My mouth had parted slightly without me knowing and don't ask about my heart, it probably must have broken into pieces of atom. I couldn't digest whatever my mom just said. I laughed at her.

"Mom tell me your joking... but seriously such a bad one." I literally laughed until my father yelled.

"This might seem funny to you, but it's not and your mom is not joking. I have already booked your tickets to Korea. You can stay here for a week after the completion of your semester so that you can take care of all the procedures in the university and can pack all your stuffs."

"But dad my dream is to become a doctor. I don't want to just stay inside a closed room, in front of a computer and waste the rest of my life."

"We are not here to ask your permission Y/n. We are here to inform you and I am not accepting any excuses." My dad yelled again.

Tears were already streaming down my cheeks. I felt as if my parents had just stabbed my heart with a knife cutting it into pieces.

"If this was the case why did you ever let me choose medicine? You could have stopped me in the beginning."

"Y/n stop making a fuss about this. We told you in the beginning that you are supposed to lead the company, but you were the one who pleaded us. So, don't blame us for this." My mom said sternly.

Out of all the people in the world, I never expected my mom to turn over me like this. I didn't speak a word after that. My eyes were starting to hurt because of the continuous tears that kept on rolling down my cheeks.

*Flashback ends*

I held back my tears from falling. Becoming a doctor was something I dreamed of from a young age. I always wanted to save people and make sure I brought happiness to others. Just imagine the amount of happiness a family or a group of people might be as soon as you exit the operation theatre or after saving a life and you come out and tell the people that the person inside is completely safe; how relieved would they be.

My tears streamed down my cheeks without my knowledge. I soon get a phone call from my favorite person. I wipe off my tears because I know the person on the other side won't be happy knowing I was crying.

"Yeoboseyo my sweet pea"......
