Sitting down on the bathroom counter, Ahmad stood between Cali legs with his hands resting on both sides of her as they both stared at the timer on his phone and the stick in her hand.

Both waiting patiently, Cali bit her lip as each second passed anxious to know what the results were about to be. "I'm tired of waiting, this is like the longest five minutes ever." She complained

Kissing her lips, he smiled. "Just chill we got two minutes left,"

"I know but time is going hella slow." She mumbled.

Cali and Ahmad were having speculations that Cali may be pregnant, and although that was the last thing Ahmad wanted at the moment due to his dream he still wanted to be sure if his baby was having a baby.

But another thing that was killing him, was sharing the news about the dream. He knew if the test read positive that he would have to tell her what was up and work on at least trying to prevent her miscarrying from happening.

The sound of his timer went off, and they both shared a look towards each other before looking down. "Welp, I guess .. we're about to be new parents again." She stated cheerfully but stopped smiling when she saw the look on Ahmad's face.

She wasn't sure if he was happy or sad about the news, and that alone hurt her feelings a bit. "You really didn't want another child huh?" She questioned causing him to quickly look up by the tone of her voice. It read hurt and that was the last thing he ever wanted to make Cali feel like.

Pulling her down off the counter, he grabbed her hands. "It's not that I don't want to have another baby. I'm honestly really excited and happy about the news but its something I need to tell you first."

Looking at him strangely, she mentally prepared herself for whatever he was about to say. "What is it? Is it bad?"

"If it comes true then yeah its bad but if not .. no."

"What? What are you talking about if it comes true? If what comes true? You're scaring me .. is something going to happen to me and the baby Ahmad?"

Taking a deep breath, he closed his eyes. "I had a dream and in the dream it showed me that you might possibly have a miscarriage .. that was why I was using condoms and not trying to get you pregnant because I was scared of possibly losing our child."

After those words left his mouth, a single tear slipped out of her eye, but she quickly wiped it before looking down. "Why didn't you tell me this before?"

"I wanted too but you were already depressed and down about other shit that I didn't want to bring your mood down even more." He answered honestly. "I don't like seeing you hurt Cal and this look in your eyes is what I was trying to avoid."

Everything Ahmad did was always for Cali's best interest at the end of the day. "Well then what are we suppose to do? Prepare for the miscarriage, wait for it to happen or just act like its not gonna happen grow attached to the baby just for it to die .. what are we suppose to do Ahmad?" She asked expressing her emotions as more tears began to fall.

"You were better off just not saying anything, I can't lose a child. I love babies, and just the thought of this one possibly dying breaks my heart." She cried pushing away from him. "I can't lose him or her Ahmad."

Grabbing her arm, he stopped her from leaving out the bathroom. "I-I didn't know what else to do Cal, please don't cry because you know how I get when I see you hurt. If you hurt, I hurt .. I was just trying to look out for us and let you know what had happened. Who knows if it'll even come true, but regardless of what happens we just gotta stick it through as a family and embrace this moment now."

"All your dreams come true Ahmad, the only thing we don't know is how its gonna happen and that alone worries me. Here I am knowing that this child inside me is going to die and I just have to live in fear and worry about when its gonna take place." She sniffled trying to stop her tears from falling. "That's no way a person should have to live,"

Pulling her into him, Ahmad wrapped his arms securely around her body placing a kiss on her forehead. "I don't know what else to do baby, but just please promise me that whatever happens we will stick together and work through it as a team, just promise me that okay?"

Cali looked away for a second, and hesitated before mumbling out a small, "I promise," and sadly Ahmad's heart broke a little already feeling the division between them start just based off her actions and vibe.

Cali was always strong but kids were her weakness and she was already having a hard time accepting the fact that this baby in her was going to die and she wasn't sure how strong she could be again especially with her already feeling weak and hopeless now.

Standing in their bathroom together, Ahmad just held Cali in his embrace as no words were said. He knew this pregnancy was about to be a long journey, and he wasn't mentally or emotionally prepared for what was about to come but he knew he had to get ready and soon.

Later that night, Ahmad laid in bed staring straight up at the ceiling just thinking about everything that was going on his life. Cali was laid on top of him knocked out with her face in the crook of his neck as her arms drapped over his body.

They started off talking in this position then she eventually cried herself to sleep. But Ahmad could not sleep, he felt that even though life was good he felt that something was about to hit the fan and make shit bad just that fast.

Rubbing his finger tips on the exposed part of her back, he kissed her forehead before wrapping his arms around her tighter and letting out a sigh. "Whatever happens, we will get through this." He told himself before forcing himself to get some sleep.

The next day at work Ahmad played the game with Travis and his boys since they had nothing else to do after school while Marcus, Shaun and Dave watched them. It was a slow day and due to the rain they knew it was gonna be like that majority of the day so to pass time they pulled out the controllers and started betting on games.

"Ahmad about to beat y'all ass and I'm about to gain twenty from everybody since I betted that he was gon' tap that ass easily." Shaun boosted getting hype as he watched Ahmad's player run down the court getting ready to dunk with just a few seconds left on the clock.

Jumping up Shaun hit Ahmad on the back right when he made the dunk just when the buzzer went off. "That's what I'm talking about baby!" He shouted as if he was the one who actually won rather than Ahmad who put in all the work.

Travis smacked his teeth when Ahmad made the dunk and tossed his controller off to the side as both Ahmad and Meech cheered together since they were on the same team along.

"I told y'all young asses my boy a beast, now pay up lil niggas." Holding his hand out, Shaun patiently waited for them to give him his earnings.

Reaching into their pockets, Travis, Marcus and Rakim slapped their twenties in his hand with hella attitude. Counting his money, Shaun took a seat on one of the couches next to Dave who had been quiet the whole time they played which wasn't like him.

Usually he'd be all into the game and yelling just like Shaun was but today he was dead silent, didn't crack a smile or nothing.

Nudging his shoulder, Dave looked over at Shaun with a raised eyebrow. "You good man?" He asked lowly.

"We'll talk later, my client just pulled up." He replied before standing to his feet and heading towards his station.

Watching him walk off, Shaun knew it had to do something with his wife but deciding to wait to find out what was going on, he placed his money in his pocket then focused back in on what the guys were discussing.

Notcing Rakim staring, he frowned. "Tha hell you looking at nigga?"

Laughing Rakim held up his middle finger, "I was looking at your shoes cause them hoes slick nice, but since you want to be an ass about it ..they ugly as fuck."

Shaun laughed along with Ahmad and Marcus. "Man y'all can't say Rakim ain't a younger version of me."

They nodded agreeing, actually thinking the three boys reminded them of them when they were younger.

Stretching out, Ahmad pulled out his phone checking the time. "Where the hell is Hazel with the food? I'm hungry as hell."

"Alisha on her way up here so y'all already know that's my lunch and dinner for the day," He smirked rubbing his hands together.

Marcus shook his head, "So you just gon' act like we ain't got kids sitting right here in front of us?"

He shrugged, "I'm sure they all fucking by now, so why does it matter?"

Rakim leaned back into the couch and smirked putting his hands behind his neck, "I don't know about them, but I damn sho' is."

Ahmad leaned forward resting his elbows on his knees as he clasped his hands together. "I hope you being smart about it, having sex is fun and feels good but it ain't worth catching a std or a baby."

"I'm safe sometimes," He shrugged.

"Sometimes? It only takes one time baby boy. I know first hand and it ain't fun." Shaun replied. "I caught chlymida from a girl back in college, these girls can be dirty as hell and we don't even be knowing, so always be sure to protect yourself man, if you gon' have sex be smart about it forreal, because it does come with hella consequences that some people have to deal with for life." He preached.

"Yep, plus ain't y'all like fourteen maybe fifteen if ya birthday came early?" Marcus questioned sorta curious.

"Well all fifteen," Travis replied, "But I ain't having sex though."

"Me neither," Meech spoke up. "But I'm not a virgin, I had sex once back in middle school."

Shaun covered his mouth laughing, "Damn man, you was knocking bitches down back in junior high? I ain't start having sex until I was at least seventeen, I ain't gon' front I was scared as hell of pussy but now I be innat shit like everyday."

Ahmad laughed, "I started having sex young as hell too, but for personal reasons though but I do regret it .. half those females ain't even deserve this type of dick." He frowned thinking back.

"Let's just say in our college days we all were some hoes, and we made some pretty dumb mistakes and decisions and with y'all being so young man .. just be sure to take care of your bestfriend down there." Marcus expressed and the boys nodded listening to their every word.

Meech, Travis and Rakim found themselves latching onto Ahmad and his friends as if they were their big brothers due to them being so down to earth and welcoming.

Almost everyday after school the boys found themselves here at Ahmad's shop hanging out unless they had homework but usually they didn't so they would chill there until closing time and catch a ride with one of them back home.

"Well give us some pointers on it then, I'm curious." Rakim urged.

Shaun stood up, "I got this." Clearing his throat a little bit, he smirked. "Alright, the first thing that you always need to be sure of is always having the rubbers on deck, keep em in ya back pack, car, your room or hell even in ya pocket. You never when you'll have sex because if you're anything like me and my baby we have sex anywhere, so stay ready so you ain't never gotta get ready. That's the first rule, now second rule make sure you ain't fucking no loud, run they mouth to everybody type of chick .. because if yo dick game suck the whole school gon' know so be mindful of who you sleeping with and that same rule follows into rule number three. Be mindful about who you sleeping with for the simple fact that some of these girls ain't clean and be letting everybody go in raw. If you hear about a girl and half the school saying she don' let half the school fuck .. stay away, its a good chance ole' girl got something and that's the last thing y'all want."

"But what if she a hoe and you ain't know she was one before you fucked?" Meech asked.

"If she is.. oh well, long as you strapped up. Just always be sure to protect yourself first at all times. Never fuck a girl raw unless she's your wife." Ahmad spoke up. "I never slept with a girl raw except once and that was me just being stupid but at first I never slept with girls without a condom .. but Cali is my wife and I know she ain't messing around on me so condoms don't really matter to us."

The guys nodded taking in all the advice. Travis really didn't need much of it since him and Derek already had the sex talk but it didn't hurt getting more advice about something he was very curious about and thinking about doing very soon.

When the chimes on the door went off, the guys looked back to see Hazel walking in with pizza boxes and Alisha who was coming in behind her.

Shaun immediately hopped up, "We'll be back," He stated out loud before escorting her to the back where his station was.

Rakim and Meech both smirked. "Man, this the type of job I want. We can play 2k all day, get bomb ass lunches and fuck our girl friends in the back .. man this is heaven."

Ahmad laughed, "This job is relaxed at times but it can get hetic and doing tattoos isn't as easy as it may seem."

"Takes a lot of consentration, and skill. I be tired as hell after doing a tattoo." Marcus co-signed while grabbing him a slice of pizza.

"And booking appointments is stressful as hell as well, folks be really mad when one of these nigga ain't available when they need them to be and I just be thinking like why? They not even all that." Hazel joked earning a pinch from Ahmad on the thigh.

"Expect your pay to be small as hell next week." He mumbled right before Dave came speed walking out of his office in a hurry.

"Everything alright D?" Marcus called out stopping him right when he was about to clock out.

"Blessing just called me crying, she been at home all fucking day for hours. Courtney just up and left her there with nothing to eat or drink. I gotta go get my baby, I ain't got no more clients for the day and if anybody need me tell em I'll be back tomorrow." Leaving out, Marcus looked back at Ahmad who held a stunned look as well.

"She foul as fuck for that, I wish Kamry would ever do some shit like that to my child."

Hazel and Ahmad both nodded, "I just hope baby girl is okay, that's all that matters at this point," Hazel said feeling a certain way about what Dave just said.

Hazel loved kids and she wanted a lot of kids and she hated the parents who were blessed and able to have kids and would mistreat them.

Her heart went out to Dave, she could only imagine the anger and pain he was feeling at the moment.

Sitting across from her dad, Cali messed with her straw in her drink as she looked through the menu trying to decide on what she wanted to order. "Is everything okay Bre?" Her dad asked noticing that she was out of it today.

Looking up, she just shrugged. "I'm fine and I'm sorry that you have yet to meet the kids and Ahmad. It's just so many things have been happening and we haven't had time to pick a date and set it up."

"It's fine, I understand whenever you guys are available just let me know. But first, tell me what's really going on.. I know you aren't okay so just tell me what the problem is?"

Biting her lip, she closed her eyes to stop the tears but it didn't work, "I don't know at this point, I want to say yes everything is okay, but then again I want to be honest and say its not. I have a husband I love the hell out of and he loves me just as much, I have three beautiful kids who adore me and that I love so much and a best friend that's like a sister I never had who is always there for me no matter what .. but then I have a crack head ass mama who continues to let me down over and over, I'm also mentally and emotionally breaking down everyday, and then I just found out that I'm expecting another child and although this is suppose to be a happy moment, its a good chance this child could die. I just want to get away and just stay away for awile. I need a break, its always something going on and its suffocating me." She expressed letting her emotions out as tears fell from her eyes.

Reaching over, he grabbed her hand. "Breathe Cali, and calm down."

Taking a few deep breaths, she calmed herself down. "Now how do you know the baby is gonna die?"

"Ahmad has these dreams sorta like visions and they always show him like a glimpse in the future of what is going to come and he had a dream that I had a miscarriage and all of his dreams come true so I know its gonna happen," She sniffled. "And that just adds on to the stress and emotions I've already been feeling."

"Have you talked to Ahmad about any of this? Does he know that you're hurting like this baby girl?"

She nodded, "He does, I told him and he has done his part as my husband by being there and lifting me up the best way he can but its just like no matter what he does or how much he tries to make me feel better it doesn't work and I hate that because I know he is trying to hard to make me feel better."

"What do you think could help your situation get better?"

She shrugged, "I don't know daddy,"

"Maybe his dream could be a warning," He suggested.

"What do you mean?"

"The way your mental health is and how much you're stressing isn't good for the baby. Maybe the dream is telling you that if you don't get yourself together and soon you have a good chance of miscarrying.. but that's just a thought," He shrugged taking a sip of his drink leaving Cali to think.

Stepping inside their home, Dave carried their sleeping daughter in his arms along with her leftover food from McDonalds and carried her to her room with an annoyed and stresssed expression on his face.

Dave wasn't sure on what to do at this point, he had given Courtney chance after chance to better herself as a mother and wife. It was like she just didn't care anymore and he was tired of it especially now since their daughter was now being affected by her actions.

He tried to be the better and bigger person and just prayed that Courtney got her shit together as a mother and as a wife, but he was fed up with it and had to finally see what tha hell was up with her.

Laying her down in her Princess Tiana themed bed, he kissed her on the cheek, tucked her in then went walk out but stopped when she called after him.

Turning around he got down on his knees beside her, "What's wrong baby?"

Sitting up, she yawned and rubbed at her eyes before focusing her attention on him. Reaching over she hugged him then stood so he could lift her up. Smiling at how clingy she was he took a seat on her bed with her still in his arms.

"You not sleepy anymore? Or you just want daddy to hold you?" He asked causing her to shrug and hug him tighter.

Getting up with her, he just carried her into the kitchen since he still had to clean and do laundry since Courtney was never home enough to do it. Sitting her on top of the counter, he grabbdd her a snack to occupy her time and began stacking the dishes and wiping down the counter tops using that time to clear his head.

Blessing watched him move around the kitchen cleaning up everything as she ate on her snack. Blessing right now just didn't want to be left alone, being stuck in the house with no one scared her half to death to where she was scared to move, but she remembered her daddy telling her to call him on the house phone if she ever needed
