*Hazel's Pov*

I walked out the door, ready to walk to school. Jason didn't walk with me anymore, he got picked up by one of his friends. He didn't want to tell me who, though.

I knew it would be cold so I wore my oversized yellow sweater. However, I wasn't aware that it would be raining. That was perfectly fine, though. I freaking loved rain!

I walked past Asher's house and sighed. Ever since the day we kissed a few days ago, we hadn't really talked. He wasn't giving me rides either. We would occasionally nod at each other or wave when passing by, but it was awkward. Which sucked because we agreed we wouldn't be awkward.

I moved forward and cleared my head of the boy that'd been invading all my thoughts lately.

Once I got to school, I saw Asher with his friends. My friends were there, too. I couldn't go over there! So you know what I did?

I sighed as I flopped down between two bookshelves on the floor in the library. I curled into a ball in the corner while reading my book.

My reading was interrupted when I heard someone above me speak.

"Hazel?" I looked up to see Caleb staring down at me, smiling.

I closed my book and smiled. "Oh, hey, Caleb!"

He sat down next to me on the floor and pulled his legs to his chest, copying my position. "Listen, I've been wanting to ask you something..."

I turned to him and showed that I was listening.

"Well, I was wondering.... Would you like to go on a date with me?" He drawled out.

I was caught by surprise. "Actually, I-" I was about to mention Asher but I realized: What would I mention?! We didn't have anything together, so it would be perfectly fine for Caleb and I to go on a date. "Actually, I would love to! So, where and when?"

He brightened at my answer. "Sunset Sally's Diner at 5:30 tomorrow?" He looked at me, waiting for an answer.

"Yeah, sure! That sounds fun!" I smiled at him. The bell rang and we both stood up.

"It's a date!" Caleb said as we walked out of the library.

I walked into my first period class, excited for my first date.

Nothing could go wrong. I thought.

I couldn't wait to pick out what to wear and I was just so excited! I couldn't wait for tomorrow.
