THIRD PERSON POV.

Silence echoed in the large room. The air in the room was tense as everyone shifted uncomfortably in their seats. No one eyes met the other as they were all in deep thoughts wondering what today's meeting would mean for their future.

Some were confident, some weren't. Today to them felt like the day of judgement. They could leave the room as they came in- millionaires and billionaires or they could leave with their built wealth destroyed.

To the people in the large conference room, the meeting held the key to their fate. Since the man who would be presiding over the meeting was the devil himself. Some have addressed him as a demon, a grip reaper, the devil. But the truth was he was all of those things and more.

The double door of the room opened and coming through was a man in his early thirties. He had a caramel skin and black raven hair styled to perfection. His black suit fits his slim body frame perfectly. A thin framed glass sat on the bridge of his nose exposing his golden brown eyes that could draw anyone in.

One of his hand held a black pouched smart notebook and his other  hand was hidden inside his pants pocket. His name was Samson Yuvraj, but people preferred to think of him as the messanger of death. His presence in the room sends chills down the spine of cowards. His presence means the presence of the devil.

Everyone in the room adjusted themselves, straighted their posture and cleared their throats.

"Samson." A man in his early forties greeted. Nervously flashing the young man a smile.

"We've all been waiting. When is he arriving?" He nervously asks as he wondered if he should have been quiet instead.

"Good afternoon, everyone." His eyes briefly scanned the room before continuing.

" Mr. Montgomery would be here in two minutes." Yuvraj said to the room  ignoring the nervous man that just talked before taking a seat that sat at the left side of the seat resevered for his boss.

As said by Yuvraj, not a minute less or more, the door opened again exposing the man of the day.

Caspian Montgomery.

Everyone's eyes went to the man that stood at the entrance of the door. His presence was stiffling and his aura was suffocating. He was a man whose presence announced itself. The man was respected and feared. After all he is the head of a major multinational corporation and a key player in the world business affairs and the heir to one of the most powerful families in the world.

Caspian Montgomery scanned the room for a few seconds before he headed to his sit at the head of the huge oval table. His grey eyes was cold and hard and his face showed no expression whatsoever.

He looked down at his silver watch briefly before raising his head back up and looking at the people that looked at him nervously. His indifferent expression shows that he didn't want to be there and would rather be anywhere else.

The sight of the men that surrounded him disgusted him. To him they were flimsy pest he couldn't wait to get rid of and he would.

"Let's get this over with." His hard voice echoed and didn't fail to send chills down spines.

Everyone waited for a few moments trying to see who would be the scape goat to be the first to talk. Who would be brave or rather stupid enough to talk first?

"Mr Montgomery, we all know your reluctance for a  merger with the Ivanos but merging Black steels with  Ivanos steel is very clearly a strong and advisable option that I and the others find right." A middle aged man probably in his early fifties said out as he straighted his posture and sat more upright trying to seem intimidating.

Yuvraj's eyes trailed over to his boss before it went over to the man who decided to speak up first. Yuvraj was familiar with Anthony Valdez. He was a lanky man who loved flash and fazz.
His light green colored suit was a clear indication of it. Anthony was a greedy man who knows how to suck up and is always looking for new ways to gobble up money.

Anthony's words were clearly indication that he and the others were up to no good. The others who weren't brave enough to speak up but were wise enough to use Valdez as their spokesmen and scape goat.

"And the others are?"  Caspian asksz his cold eyes holdings Valdez's who couldn't look away in fright.

The tension in the room thickened as all eyes went back to Anthony who took a huge glup of his saliva but his throat still felt dry.

"I-i-i don't think-... What I'm trying to say is-" Anthony stammered in an attempt to digress from the question and salvage himself.

"You don't sound like you know what you want Valdez." Caspian said coldly. The side of his lips began to rise up in a sly grin.

A grin lots of people have learnt to recognize. A grin that was the prelude to destruction. The devil's grin.

"I-i-i-...-" Anthony started but was interrupted by Caspian.

"How are things going with your paper companies Valdez?" Caspian voice went down several octaves showing his anger.

The air in the room immediately became icy. And it was like everyone froze. No one moved, talked and they even controlled their breathing.

"I-i-i... I don't understand what you mean?" Anthony feigned ignorance but he wasn't fooling anyone.

"The estimated profit for this year is over Two hundred million dollars. I'm looking forwards to it" Caspian's lips rose up in a devilish grin. A grin also very familiar to Valdez.

Everyone who had ears knew that what Caspian just said was a warning. His company invested in the holding and Caspian was expecting his profit. And a reasonable progress in the handling of the holding.

Caspian Montgomery is a hard cruel and ruthless business man . No one gets in his way. It didn't matter who, no one does and if anyone dares to, he tramples them.

KATHERINE'S POV.

"... Can you believe that."

"No I can't." I said absentmindedly .

A loud bang against my counter dragged me away from concentration. The sudden sound made me jump making me mess up my frosting.

I raised up my head and glared at my best friend slash business partner.

"Why did you do that?" I snarled.

"You weren't listening to me." She fired back.

" I'm trying to get this right Lina." I shot back dropping the frosting bag on the counter.

"I'm talking about your business."

"OUR business. " I said back. "You take care of the adminstrative stuff, I take care of the baking stuff. That's why we are the perfect team." I explain for the thousandth time in the past five years.

"That doesn't mean you shouldn't pay attention. I listen to your baking stuff all the time." She grumbled.

"That's because you get to eat whatever I bake and you have a sweet tooth which is way worse than mine."

She rolled her brown eyes at me before looking down at her phone.

"You are my friend you are supposed to listen to me." She complained under her breath but I heard her.

A little giggle escaped my mouth and my heart warmed a little for my grumpy best friend.

Carolina Rodriguez has been my friend since kindergarten. She also comes from the upper class family. Her mom and my mom are in the same social group even though her family is a little more wealthier than mine.

Carolina and I started a chain of bakery slash cafe five years ago. We were in our final year of college, well I was since I started college a year early. Carolina was a class behind me. Although I studied Business administration I went on to open my own bakery and Cafe and then Carolina joined me and we expanded.

We currently have three cafe spread around the New York and the one that had mine and Carolina's office was made our head cafe. I wasn't as ambitious as Carolina. She was determined to turn our cafe and bakery into a chain from the very beginning. She had this business idea and it was really good and it brought us to where we are today.

Her family thought that our idea was a joke and we couldn't do it on our own. They thought that Carolina starting and managing her own business was a bad idea. Although the first few years was hard, very hard. Carolina proved her family wrong. She is the best manager in the world.

" Is this about Flavor island?" I asked turning to her, ready to hear all of her troubles.

"It is."

" You shouldn't worry about them. They have nothing to do with us and we have nothing to do with them."

"Can you believe that son of a b**ch?" She cursed.

"D-bag jar." I pointed to the almost full D-bag jar on my desk.

She stood up and dropped five bucks in it.

Carolina has the biggest foul mouth in the world. She curse like a sailor. And she could be a D-bag when she wants to but Carolina could be described as a badass.

She was tough, Strong, confident and has an I don't give a f**k attitude. But I know better than anyone else that underneath all that was the most mushy and cuddly girl in the universe. Her heart was so big and filled with so much love. She just doesn't give them out freely.

She was more than a friend to me, she  is my family, my soulmate or soul sister

"Pftt..." A scoff left her mouth.

I looked at her as she scrolled through her phone. My eyes caught a picture with a very familiar face. I came closer to examine it and my heart almost sank.

Vivian just posted a picture with a very familiar pendant on her neck. That hastaged true love and new gifts.
Lina looked up at me before hastily turning off her phone.

"I don't know who she's trying to show off to. But it's fine because you've moved on... right?" She looked at me expecting confirmation.

" I've moved on."

"Have you though?"

"What?". I looked at her confused. A part of me feeling that she was going to come up with a stupid theory.

"Your heart might not be with him anymore but you've not truly moved on unless you are with someone else."

"I don't get what you are trying to say." I turned away from her and tried to focus on my frosting ratio.

"Well... I will I put this in the most innocent way for your fragile heart. " She paused a little as she clasped her hand together in front of her mouth and tried to pretend she was in a deep thought.

"I know. Get yourself a man and get laid." She blurts

"You make no sense " I said dismissing her stupid idea. Rolling my eyes at her stupid theory

"I'm telling the truth. The only way to get over a man, is to get under another. Meaning, you need to get thoroughly fucked."

"Oh my God Carolina. Jar. Go put ten bucks in the jar!" I pointed at the glass jar glaring at my best friend.

"I will,  but that doesn't mean I am not saying the truth." She gave a smug smile like she was right and it only infuriated me.

"I changed my mind, make that twenty."

She rolled her eyes at me before turning to her purse to take out the money.

I can't believe her. I was no surprise that Carolina have a potty mouth. According to her taking a man and losing my virginity would help me get over Alan completely.

"Sex is very therapeutic Kate. A good fuck guarantees you moving on." I looked at her in disbelief but I wasn't really surprised.

"Don't worry I'll make that twenty five." She said before I could tell her. She played with the tip of the jar and settled her lower body on my desk.

"I have an idea." She began with a sly grin.

"NO" I immediately shut it down.

"You haven't heard what I was going to say."

"I don't need to. I know that look on your face. So no. Take that idea back."

"Just listen to what I have to say."

"Fine."

"It's just ten. It's a Friday. The night is young and full of life. Instead of trying to perfect baking recipes we can go out."

"I knew it. No."

"You can't say no."

"I can and I am. I'm not going out Lina. You can go yourself I fully support you." I said in the sweetest fake voice I could muster.

"I just want you to have some fun. What's wrong with that." She said slowly her voice almost disappearing into a wispher.

I knew what this was and I couldn't fall for it. Carolina had a way of making me do things that she wanted.

"Not a chance." I said sternly.

"I just want to have fun with my best friend. It's fine you don't have to go. Sorry for making you uncomfortable."

OH NO!

"Fine. I'll go." I sighed in resignation.

"Good. because I've already reserved a VIP area in one of the fanciest clubs in New York. Midnight." She said happily.

"Great. We're going to a club called Midnight. Sounds great." I said with sacarsm.

"It is." She commented purposely ignoring my sacarsm

"Let go home. We can't go like this." She pulled my arm and we both headed out of my office. She with a happy smile on her face while I was with a terrifying unsure smile on mine.
