Melinda smiled happily at her friends, silently enjoying the look of envy on their faces. Her daughter, who would believe, her innocent quiet daughter who would rather stay quiet was expecting. The heir — oh! it was better, — heirs! of the Montgomery family.

Malinda had underestimated her daughter indeed. She was always quiet and stuck behind a book or behind the kitchen counter, baking. It had repulsed Melinda that her last daughter was in no way like her and took more of her father to her dismay. Melinda would never have believed that she would be the one to achieve her dreams. Who would have thought Caspian Montgomery would even look her way let alone spare her a second glance?

" I guess you would be sharing grandmother duties with Elizabeth Montgomery. " Esther said trying to conceal the venom in her voice and failing ever so woefully.

Melinda giggled, not only enjoy Esther's torture but the thought of her friendship with Elizabeth Montgomery. What a fulfilment.

"I mean of course." Melinda shrugged her shoulders trying to be dismissive as possible while squaring her shoulders, raising her chin and pursing her lips.

Melinda hated Esther with everything she had. They grew up together, the both of them. Both coming from affluential families. Melinda family had always battled with bankruptcy and Melinda's father would have to turn to Esther's family for partnership and to seek it he had kissed the ass of her family. Esther had not failed to flaunt it in front of her everytime. Claiming whatever her family owned was only thanks to her family.

They had stayed friends in the same clique, but hated each other. Melinda and Esther's group was filled with fake friends. They hung out together, gossip with each other but had never failed to flaunt their wealth to each other. To them nothing was better than making your friends jealous and flaunting your status.

And all of them in their Clique of rich Elite wives had one desire and that was to be friends with Elizabeth Montgomery. Elizabeth's Clique was in a different level as only the rich of the rich were friends with her.

They've all heard stories of the brunches, lunches and dinner parties she holds. The elegance, sophistication, richness of it all. Elizabeth was born in wealth, raised in wealth and lives in wealth. She was born and raised a princess and she became a Queen.

Who wouldn't want to be friends with that kind of woman? and to Melinda's miraculous luck, Elizabeth was her in-laws.

To be the grandmother to the heirs of he Montgomery Empire. The Montgomerys was a large family and all of them entitled to its wealth but Caspian Montgomery was a different case. If Kathrine was married to any other Montgomery, Melinda would of course have been happy as she would get a raised status none the less. But her daughter wasn't married to just any Montgomery but to Caspian Montgomery. He was not just any big fish, he might as well be The King of the sea, Poseidon.

Melinda relished in the thought of her new found status. She was happy, it was what she deserved she thought. It was everything she deserved.

KATHRINE'S POV.

I wasn't doubting Elizabeth's heart and I knew she couldn't contain her excitement but it was already getting too much for me to handle as I watched as she picked and sorted out the best outfits and might I add, way too expensive for the babies. All they would do is spit and vomit on it anyway and it's not like I don't want my babies to have nice things but not if one dress could buy a Ferrari.

"This one looks nice doesn't it dear. We are not sure of the genders. This is unisex so it's fits for any sex right?" Elizabeth was of course not looking for any validation as I'm sure she was already determined to get it.

"You are so right aunt. It is just the cutest outfit. It's so small and cute." I glared at the voice that responded to her. I watched as Bianca gush about how cute my babies would look in them.

Turns out Bianca loves babies and wants a ton of them in future. I wished her luck when she gushed about having eight kids in the future. I love kids but even I could tell that that was over doing it. The thoughts of reliving the agonizing morning sickness eight times or maybe less depending on if at a point in her birth she had twins or triplet or more. Bananas, she could even have the eight at once. I almost cringe at that thought.

We spent hours picking clothes and baby accessories. Well they picked it and i only smiled and hummed when they saw something they liked. My eyes caught a particular onesie. I love it, it was pink and only had a teddy bear head on the chest. It was simple and cute, I think. I took the clothe and felt the material between my fingers. It was soft and fluffy. I loved it.

But my thoughts and attention went back to the preoccupied babies' grandmother and aunt. Who kept asking for my attention.

I let out a sigh as I could feel my shoulder slump. Unknown to me Elizabeth's eyes caught me action which halted hers and brought a frown and a guilty look to her face.

She face palmed herself. Even the way she did it carried grace and careful elegance.

" Look at me." She said with disappointment dripping in her voice. "I'm just going on and on about the things I want I excluded the mother." She looked like she was scolding herself. Even Bianca now had stooped as a look of knowing crossed her face and was replaced with that of guilt.

"I'm sorry Kathrine. You should have said something."

"No it's fine. You guys are excited about it."

"Our excitement is no excuse for the way we treated you." She looked at the onesie in my hand." Do you like that one?" Elizabeth asked.

"Yeah." I unconsciously rubbed the materials between my fingers liking the soft and fluffy texture of the clothe.

"Then we have to get it." She said with a smile on her face. She stood up from the white leather couch she was sitting on opposite me and came to sit next behind me on the two sitter sofa.

"I'm not just greatful for my coming grandkids. I'm also greatful for you Katherine. I was so scared that my Caspian would have no one by his side and I knew he would never let anyone in. There are parts of him even I can't get to. You should imagine my relief when you came into his life." She took my hand in hers." I know my Caspian can be cold and indifferent and he looks at the world a different way than we do but I'm thankful that he has someone who understands him now to be by his side."

I could see the emotion and sincerity in her eyes. This was a mother who had worried about her son. I was touched and greatful that a woman like her was my mother-in-law. I almost let out a scoff at the thought of my own mother. One would think a woman like Elizabeth would only care about her status and standing and the way she's perceived by the world. Who would ever think that she was a sincere woman who values love and human emotions more.

My own mother couldn't care less if I had love. Hell, she supported my sister when she stole my boyfriend. She only cared about wealth and status and standing and now the only reason she was even giving a hoot about me is because I am the wife of Caspian.

"You can tell me anywhere you want. We should do something other than picking out baby clothes." She proposed.

"I don't any place particular in mind." I said.

"I do!" Bianca said raising up her hand like she was in a classroom with a cheeky smile on her face and the glint of excitement I her eyes gave me cold chills
