An airplane flies against the wind from A to B in 8 hours. The same airplane returns from B to A, in the same direction as the wind, in 7 hours. Find the ratio of the speed of the airplane (in still air) to the speed of the wind-

I stared at the problem instantly knowing the solution. Once before I would look at the math problem and crumble at the sight of it. I would refuse to do it. I solved the problem with ease completing the worksheet.

" Done." I grabbed the paper and my nude Prada heels clacked against the tile floor as I went up to Mrs.Easton's desk. Her face frowned as she caught sight me her wrinkled face scrunching up and her glasses sat at the end of her nose.

"Don't even start Ms.Pines. I'm not letting you go to the bathroom to paint your nails." The class giggled at her comment.

" Please do, that manicure is hideouse." Carly interjected.

I ignored her and placed my paper on the desk.

" Actually I'm done." I replied. She scoffed in disbelief and grabbed my paper, her eyes scanned over it and widen as she had seen my pink ink scrambled over the paper solving the problems.

" Well done  Ms.Pines." She completed. I turned around with a proud smile and even waved at bitter Carly as I went back to my seat.

My grades had changed for the better, and for the first time I was actually taking school seriously. It wasn't for my Dad, but for me. Yes, I'm dancer I'll always be a dancer but I also wanted to smart and educated. And not have people like Ms.Easton or Fawn even Carly see me as an idiot. I deserved better and I needed to treat my self better.

The bell rang and I grabbed my purse and headed out the classroom door.

" Hey Kin." I waved as people walked by and spoke to me. Before finally making it to my locker. The paint still looking as fresh as the day it was painted the locker representing me to the fullest. I opened it pulling out my matte lip gloss and looking at my reflection in the mirror.

" Hey sexy." Bee greeted. She wore an oversized denim jacket and with a white crop top and high waisted denim jeans and beaded jewelry hanging from her wrist and combat boots. Her nails painted a pastel pink and a lip piercing in her lip. Bee was like us... but different. More of a rebellion than me an Nani. Both believed it was a way for her to act out against her protective parents. She was smart really smart and her grades reflected it, but she still wanted to have fun she partied hard and had friends with benefits. Was wild, but always kept her grades in check so whenever her parents started bitching she could remind them how she isn't a fuck up by pulling at her all A report card. She could be cruel gave off this " tough girl personal" and sometimes forced a mug instead of smile. But all and all I loved her, and physically she wanted to be everything her parents disapproved piercing, dyed hair even considered a tattoo just out of spite.

Bee wanted to live, and with her parents always having such a tight grip on her, it seemed hard.

I didn't bring up the kiss.

Just as she didn't.

" Hey babe." I playfully flirted.

" Are we still on for girls night. Seems like we haven't hung out with just the 3 of us in forever." She poute. It was the truth. Although I loved the girls, we had drifted apart while I was playing house with Jasper, Nani was confessing her love to Zane and Bee... Well, I wasn't sure how she spent her free when we weren't around.

" You should talk to Gurney." I suggested out of the blue sending her by surprise.

She playful gagged in disgust " Not even if he was the last man on Earth."

" I don't see the problem. He's handsome, a gentlemen...sorta" I mumbled the last part under my breath and continued " Talented, and well off."

" He's in band." She said plainly " And a dropout. And might I add unmotivated." The word left her tongue as if it stung.

" His music is his motivation." I declared

" His music sucks." She professed. "He's a wannaberocker dude who thinks he's cool just because he wears rip jeans. And is going to spend his days playing air guitar in his parent's basement."

" We don't have a basement." I clarified

" You get my drift."

I nodded " Yeah."

She smiled " See I knew you'd understand-"

" You think you're too good for him." I added, causally applying my matte lips stick.

" Of course I am."

" Gurney's a good guy." I stated turning around to face Bee.

" And so is Lucas, and Jasper, and Fin and what ever other guys heartstrings you're pulling at." She folded her arms across her chest defensively and I stood at her in shock. Not sure what she was insinuating.

" I'm not pulling at anyone's heart strings and if I was Fin wouldn't be on the list."

" But Lucas and Jasper are?" She questioned. I had witnessed Bee's attitude many times before, but never have I ever witnessed it with me.

" I'm not with Lucas."

" So Jasper?" She rolled her eyes and scoffed.

" So no one." I shot back not liking her hostility. A few people in the halls looked are way. I sighed trying to keep my composure.

" Come on Kins. Lucas had been gaga over you for nearly a year now and your telling me you haven't noticed."

" I hadn't."

" You really are dumb." She mumbled.

" What's with you!" I exclaim slamming my locker shut. I wasn't sure what was with Bee. Or why she had been treating me so coldly, but what I did know was that I was here for it.

"What's with you! You're a total men hog. You don't want to date them, you just want them pinning after you like some love struck puppy."

" Is this.. is this about Jasper." I asked. I wait reading her reaction she bit her lip her eyes not wanting to meet mine.

" Or Lucas." Her eyes flickered up at me for just a second.

" It doesn't matter let's just forget about."

" No, if theirs something bothering you Bee just tell me, I know we haven't been talking for a while but-"

" Kinsley Pines." A man called from behind me.

" Not now." I said not bothering to turn around. " But I'm here for you. And I don't want to fight-"

" Miss Pines." The voice said.

" I just-"

" Miss Pines." My nostrils flared annoyed at the annoying man behind me. I turned around with fire in my eyes.

" For the love of God what! Oh-" A delivery man stood before me with the largest bouquet of red roses I had ever seen.

" Holy shit." I cursed.

" Classic." Bee grumbled.

I ignored her, my mouth to the floor as I stared at the flowers before me. " You are Kinsley Pines right?"

" Uh yeah that's me." I clarified grabbing the beautiful bouquet of roses from the delivery man. " Thanks." I told him lightly in disbelief my eyes still on the amazing flowers.

" No problem." He nodded before walking away.

A small golden envelope with my name written in cursive.

I knew that hand writing.

" Another one of your Lovers?" Bee asked sarcastically

" No." I frowned.

Dread and anger ran through my body.

" They're from my Dad."

Everyone amount of resentment Bee had left at the mentioning of my Dad. The fight that we where having had vanished. I had bigger issues now.

My fucking Dad.
