it's been about twenty minutes since atsumu left and you could feel your head ache going worse. you thought that if only you changed out of your clothes yesterday then you wouldn't have gotten sick and be hopeless as of now.

you rolled back and forth, trying to find a comfortable spot to sleep in. it was no use, your body just couldn't let itself rest and let you fall into a deep slumber.

"this sucks..." you groaned.

suddenly, the door to your room opens. atsumu came in with a tray on his hand, on top you could see a bowl and a glass of water. you noticed he wasn't wearing his maroon jersey now and was only left with a white t-shirt and his school pants. "made you a 'lil somethin'." he said, placing down the tray on your bedside table.

you blinked to readjust your vision. surely this has got to be a fever dream right? you thought atsumu left minutes ago, why would he be back now?

"i thought i told you to leave?" you raised your brow at him.

he sits on your bed, his weight sinking you down with him. "yes, you did."

"and why are you still here?"

"to take care of you, what else?" he lets out a small laugh before placing the tray back on his lap. "sit up, yer eatin' this whether ya like it or not."

you were hesitant, but in the end you sat up and rested your back against the headboard of your bed. you eyed the inside of the bowl, you could tell it was some form of soup but you couldn't distinguish what it was.

"you're funny if you think i'm actually eating something you made." you scoff, trying to act all high and mighty given by your current state. you were hungry sure, but you were having second thoughts of eating what atsumu made. not because it looked inedible, it actually looked quite nice, but just because you didn't want to owe him anything.

"don't worry i didn't poison it or anythin' geez." he grabs the spoon from the tray and dips it into the bowl. he scoops some soup from the bowl and brings it up to your mouth.

"say ah~" he smiles. you knew he was mocking you, remembering that you did exactly what he was doing yesterday at lunch.

an irk mark appeared on your forehead. "no."

"c'mon princess, it's not good to be a picky eater."

"atsumu miya i am not gonna eat that god damn sou-" he brings the spoon to your mouth without any warning, making you gulp down the soup by force.

what atsumu didn't think through however, is how hot the soup was. "you bastard, that soup was piping hot!" you tried to blow through your mouth so that the burn would lessen.

"oh..." atsumu gulped, only now realizing his mistake. "here, water." he hands you the glass of water on the tray which you took immediately and gulped it down.

"thanks asshole." your temper only got worse. not only was your head aching but your tongue was too.

"i-i'm sorry! i'll blow it up next time i swear!" he clasped his hands together and bowed slightly, asking for forgiveness.

you stared at him for a second, thinking whether or not you should let him to continue feeding you. you were out of strength and after all that shouting, you didn't have enough energy left in you.

"fine." you sighed. "do it again and i will not hesitate to bathe you with simmering hot soup atsumu."

"r-roger!" he stuttered, scared that you were actually going to do it. he scoops another spoonful of soup again but made sure to cool it down before bringing it up to your mouth.

you now only got to know what his soup really tasted like. it was actually not that bad, you'd expect it to be worse. you didn't know he can actually do something good in the kitchen.

"surprised?" he asked, bringing another spoonful to your mouth.

you gulped the soup down before replying, "well, it's not good." he frowns at your statement. while he was making the soup in your own kitchen, he was actually texting osamu on how to cook soup since he doesn't know anything about cooking. osamu, being the one who always cooks in the house, told him the recipe and steps while he was in class.

atsumu was about to apologize but you cut him off by saying, "it's... not exactly bad either." you turned to look away from him.

and that was enough to make atsumu happy that you didn't hate him all that much.

after a few minutes of arguing whether the soup he made was actually poisoned, you ended up finishing the entire bowl from being too hungry and not eating dinner yesterday.

"guess you did enjoy my soup." he smirked at the now empty bowl that he placed back on the tray.

"i only felt bad, don't get ahead of yourself." you rolled your eyes.

"sureee." atsumu grabbed something from his pocket and hands it over to you. "here, take this."

you took the packet out of his hand and examined it. "medicine?"

"yeah, bought some earlier when i went to buy the ingredients for the soup." he stood up from your bed with the tray on his hand. "i'll go fill up yer water." he grabs the glass of water before leaving the room.

he left you there, being utterly confused as to why he was taking care of you in the first place. out of pity perhaps? you were sure he hated your guts yesterday judging from his choice of words. you chose to believe that him hitting you was a pure accident so you didn't add that to the list of why he could possibly hate you. the question is, why though? why did he suddenly snap yesterday?

he was like a completely different person that lunch but a few hours later it seemed like he was annoyed by your entire existence. now he was taking care of you and buying you medicine? you didn't know what to think at this point.

takeru told you that atsumu wasn't like him, but was he actually right?

"here." atsumu came back to your room with the glass of water in his hand.

"thanks..." you mumble as you grabbed the glass from him to drink your medicine.

atsumu averted his eyes to you, gulping as he was finding the words to say. "hey..." he started. you hum in response, waiting for him to say something.

"about yesterday, i'm sorry..." your eyes met with his brown ones, looking for some sort of lie hinted within it. as far as you can tell, he was actually being sincere. "i didn't mean to hit you, i know you probably hate me or somethin', but i'll do whatever i can to make up for it."

he never tore his gaze off you as he said those words.

"and what i said, i had a bad time when i was practicing. for some reason i couldn't focus on volley so i ended up taking all that anger out on you." he awkwardly scratched the back of his head. atsumu wasn't entirely telling the truth, he couldn't tell you the part where he was thinking about you the whole time he was practicing. he can't tell you because he didn't even know the reason why.

you finally processed his apology in your head. did atsumu miya really just apologized to you sincerely? you took him for the type of guy who'd just let things past. guess you thought wrong once again.

"didn't take you for the type of guy who'd apologize atsumu." you let out a small laugh, earning the blonde's attention.

"whaddya mean? i'm not that rude y'know." he pouts, looking away from you with his arms crossed.

"sure, whatever you say." you smile at the pouting teen. "and quit acting like a child."

he looks back at you seeing that the dark mood has lifted up from you. "so... are we good?"

"not so fast atsumu." you smirk, forming a thought in your head. "you did say you'll do whatever you can to make up for it."
