"Birthday dinner?" Harry questioned after reading the note. (Y/n) shrugged in response. Molly would've just made her daughter's favorite food, macaroni and cheese with mashed potatoes.

"I need to go thank everyone," (Y/n) said. "But first I need to drag these all into my dorm."

"You better hurry, we have charms in thirty minutes," Harry warned as (Y/n) began to pile her gifts in her arms.

"Yeah, I know." The girl lugged everything up in one trip due to laziness and jogged back down but not before putting on her brand new Gryffindor robes. (Y/n) then grabbed everything needed for charms, knowing she wouldn't make it back to the tower in time. She then left the common room in search of Professor McGonagall, who was in her office expecting the young Gryffindor's arrival.

"Happy birthday!" The professor stood and made her way to where (Y/n) was standing in front of her desk.

"Thank you, and thank you so much for the tea set."

"Oh that was not a problem at all, Professor Dumbledore contacted the headmaster's of the others, but I am glad you like it!"

"My birthday this year has been amazing, except for all the classes, but only two more for the day so it shouldn't be that bad."

"I hope you have a great dinner with your father, as well!" The professor embraced her goddaughter into a hug and sent her on her way.

The next professor (Y/n) set to see was Snape, but before she could make it to the stairs leading to his classroom, she realized that charms class was in ten minutes. Internally groaning, she switched directions and made her way to the charms room.

"Ooh, who got you new robes? They look squeaky clean," Hermione complimented as (Y/n) sat in between Hermione and Viviana.

"Thank you, my dad got them for me."

"Must've been awkward walking into the store since he's head of Slytherin and all," Viv said causing the other three girls to picture it and laugh.

~.~.~.~ Charms and History of Magic are boring~.~.~.~

"So when's your birthday dinner?" Asked Harry as the six friends walked through the portrait hole.

"Birthday dinner?" Questioned Ron. (Y/n) had since filled Ron in on her family news causing him to nearly faint during potions... convenient timing.

"Yeah, my dad and I are having birthday dinner, I guess. I'm not quite sure where or when, but I mean free food."

"I mean you should probably go ask him so you're ready in time," Everley said. "I'll go with you, I'm meeting up with Amelia and Ben soon, too."

"Were they the Hufflepuffs you introduced me to?" Viviana asked and Ev nodded.

"Let's go!" The two girls left the common room to head to the potions room in order to seek out Snape. Everley waited further down the corridor as (Y/n) walked into the classroom which was empty except for the lone professor up front correcting tests.

"Come in," He said when he became aware of the small girl.

"Hi." (Y/n) walked up to in front of his desk.

"Hello." The two made eye contact and didn't speak for a few seconds. "You know you have your mother's eyes." (Y/n) grinned at the thought of her mom.

"When's my birthday dinner? Better question, where's my birthday dinner?"

"Six o'clock meet me here."

  "Where are we go-"

"You really just love to ask questions now don't you." The professor's eyes drifted back to the tests he was grading.

"Sorry, I'm curious?" The statement came out as more of a question. "Here at six o'clock," She said to verify then walked quickly out of the room.

"So what's the plan?" Everley asked.

"Meet him there at six o'clock. He didn't say where we're going," the two girls began to walk, "I honestly don't know how he's going to be a decent dad when he literally shows no emotion ever."

"It'll be okay, I'm sure he still needs to get used to his new role, that's all," Everley tried reassuring her friend as they walked to where Everley was to meet the Hufflepuffs. Once the corner was turned, the yellow of the robes became visible to the two Gryffindors.

"Everley!" Amelia said happily. How are Hufflepuffs happy all the time??, (Y/n) said to herself.

"Hey, Amelia! I'll see you later, (Y/n), have a good birthday dinner!"

"It's your birthday? Happy birthday!" Exclaimed Amelia.

"Thank you." (Y/n) smiled and started to make her way to the Gryffindor tower. She sat by the fire in silence with Harry, just watching the flames dance. The time was soon 5:30 and (Y/n) dragged herself into her dorm to get ready for her dinner.

The dress was beautiful on her, it was a perfect fit, along with the black flats. She brushed her hair again in order to make it silky smooth and walked into the common room fifteen minutes later.

"You're so beautiful!" Hermione complimented and took (Y/n)'s hand and spun her around.

"Thank you, 'Mione!"

"The color looks amazing on you!" Viviana added.

"Thanks, Viv! I'm gonna get going, wish me luck!"

(Y/n) left the portrait hole and walked through corridors and down stairs and through more corridors and landed in front of the all too familiar potions room. The girl took a deep breath before going in.

"You're early." (Y/n) looked at the clock reading 6:29.

"You're joking right." (Y/n) motioned to the clock. She just earned a smirk in response.

"Let's go." The girl followed her father down new corridors (Y/n) didn't even know existed and they soon landed outside the castle and in front of a carriage pulling itself.

"I don't even know where we're going," (Y/n) said as her father helped her up the step and into the carriage. The professor followed her and sat in front of his daughter.

  "You don't need to."

"Well, it would be nice to know." The carriage began pulling itself.

"If you must, we're going to Hogsmeade."

"I'm not old enough to go, though?" Snape sent her a look.

"You're my daughter, you're Minverva's goddaughter, you're top of the class, these things come with perks." (Y/n) smiled and soon relaxed in her seat.

It was actually a quite pleasant ride, the two had talked more in the short twenty minutes than in total this year. They talked about quidditch and school, but the subject of her mother was a subject for later. The carriage dropped the two off outside of a small restaurant called "Dorothy's Delights" which served breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

"This used to be my favorite place to get dinner when I came to Hogsmeade with my good friends." Snape helped his daughter out of the carriage and into the restaurant. There was a pianist in the corner playing average restaurant music and the setting was relatively casual. "I have a reservation for two under Severus," he told the hostess.

"This way!" She directed the two to a window table with two seats. "Can we start you off with some drinks?"

"I'll just have water," (Y/n) said, not wanting her father to spend even more money on her.

   "Water's fine," Snape said.

"Alright, here are your menus." The older lady handed them two menus. Immediately scanning the menu, (Y/n) knew chicken strips was the way to go.

"So... dad." Snape looked up with his face softening as soon as she said the word. "Can you tell me about mom, what was she like?"

"You remind me every day of her. She was just like you. Very sarcastic, not afraid to speak her mind, one of the kindest people I've ever met. She was also a spectacular chaser, she got onto the team her second year."

"What about Harry's parents? Weren't they best friends with mom?" Snape straightened up before answering.

"Well, your mom and Harry's father, James, were practically inseparable after first year. They had a lot in common and she helped the Potter's get together. James and I hardly got along, he thought I had a thing for Lily because we have been friends for so long."

"Interesting."

"Do you know what you're getting yet?" Snape asked, focussing back onto the menu.

"Chicken strips, of course," (Y/n) replied in a snarky tone.

The waitress came back and took both orders before going back to give them to the chef.
