Third Person pov:

The sound of footsteps on the floor was loud enough the make (y/n) stir from her sleep. The young Gryffindor sat up and rubbed away the clouds in her eyes. Glancing to her left and right, she sees Everley still fast asleep on the right, however, Viviana's bed nicely made on the left. Dang, that girl gets up early. (Y/n) thought as she let out a slight yawn.

(Y/n) knew herself well, so instead of lying back down, she made the wise choice to get up and deal with life. She sat on the edge of her bed, putting on her left slipper and then her right, clearly too tired to notice Viv walking back into the dorm.

"Good morning (Y/n)!" She was way too happy for seven twenty in the morning.

"Mmm," was the only sound (Y/n) was able to muster out, causing Viviana to slightly giggle. With a big sigh, (Y/n) used all of her energy to construct a sentence. "Do you wanna go to breakfast at eight?" Viv nodded in agreement.

      "Should we wake up Everley?"

"I have no idea... I mean I don't know how grumpy she is in the morning."

      "Let's risk it."

"Good luck, I'm gonna go brush my teeth and stuff." (Y/n) let out another small yawn and left the room. It wasn't until she got in the hall that she realized she didn't know where the bathrooms are. Hmm, I'll figure it out. The girl thought as she made her way down the hallway of first-year dorms.

Surely, at the end of the hall, there was a door with the word 'Lavatories' on it. (Y/n) smiled and gently pushed open the door. Inside, there were seven stalls for toilets lined up and seven showers lined up on the opposite side. The sinks and vanities were at the opposite side of the room, so (Y/n) made her way down. Of course, there was no one in there except for her because no other first-year would want to be awake and move a finger this early in the morning. As quickly as she could, (Y/n) got all ready and put her hair into double french braids.

When she made her way back to her dorm, she heard a voice other than Viviana's complaining about the time. She walked in and saw Everley sitting up in her bed with a sour look upon her face.

"It's too early to be alive," Everley muttered.

"Get up, we're getting breakfast," (Y/n) replied ignoring the girl's complaint.

Everley groaned in objection but eventually physically rolled off the bed after Viviana had successfully grabbed the blankets off of the former.

"You have fifteen minutes," Viviana said to Everley who was lying on the floor, still refusing to accept the fact that it was time to wake up.

"Fineeee," Everley dragged out the word then stood up and proceeded to walk into the bathroom.

It only took the trio of girls another ten minutes to get ready for the day ahead of them and the time was seven thirty-five. Everley was now fully awake, as was (Y/n). The three girls made their way through the corridors, trying to remember their way back to the great hall. After a few missed turns, the girls finally found themselves sitting at the Gryffindor table in the great hall.

Most of the professors preferred to eat earlier in the morning which was around the time that the trio of Gryffindors had decided to eat, as well. Up at the professor's table sat Dumbledore, McGonagall, Quirrell, Snape, Sprout and Trelawney, all who were talking to one another about their specific classes for the year. Dumbledore and McGonagall were busy talking about the upcoming school year, whoever once the three girls entered the hall, Dumbledore grew quiet mid-sentence. McGonagall became aware of his sudden silence and followed his eyes to the girls who had sat down at their respective table and were laughing. (Y/n) in particular.

"When will she find out?" McGonagall questioned the headmaster only quiet enough for him to hear. Immediately, the headmaster knew what she was referring to exactly.

"Only time will tell, Minerva. For now, there is nothing we can do, she will find out eventually."

Back at the Gryffindor table, (Y/n) was filling her plate with scrambled eggs and bacon. along with a bowl full of Cheeri Owls, her favorite cereal. Her eyes wandered around the grand room, acknowledging the few students who were awake this early, along with the small amount of Professors dining at this hour. Her gaze fell onto Dumbledore, who, at this point, was still watching the eleven-year-old. When her gaze found the headmaster's, he looked away quickly, but not quick enough for (Y/n) to become suspicious of his actions.

"So what do you guys have first? I believe I have transfiguration." (Y/n) asked her friends, trying to get her mind off of why the headmaster had taken an interest in her.

"Well, it is a Monday so Transfiguration with Professor McGonagall," Viviana replied after stuffing a fluffy pancake into her mouth.

"I think I have that, too!" Chirped up Everley. Ever since that girl got her iced coffee, she had become her usual energetic and happy self.

"I do, as well!" Said a voice as the person sat on (Y/n)'s left. (Y/n) turned to see who was joining them, and smiled once she noticed it was Hermione.

      "Good morning Hermione!" (Y/n) exclaimed.

"Good morning!" The muggle-born smiled at the three girls, in which they all returned the smile. Hermione filled her plate with pancakes and fruit.

"This is so exciting, I can't wait to learn all about the wizarding world!" Viviana said, unable to contain her excitement. The rest of the three girls all nodded in agreement, too preoccupied with the food in front of them to speak.

"Miss. Weasley, where is your brother?" Professor McGonagall questioned the young Gryffindor who was just as clueless as the professor.

"I'm sorry Professor, I really don't have an idea. However, in all honesty, I wouldn't be the least surprised if he had overslept," (Y/n) replied honestly. Professor McGonagall nodded and let out a sigh. (Y/n) sat in the second row with Hermione sitting on her left. Viviana and Everley sat a table behind the two.

"Ah, well we are starting either way, whether he and Mr. Potter are here or not. I suppose you all know I am Professor McGonagall by now, the Transfiguration teacher. Let us begin with a short response question since it is the first day." The Professor made her way to the blackboard to the right of her desk and wrote What is transfiguration and give an example of how one might make use of it in the wizarding world? with chalk. "I will give you the whole class to research and to write a well-developed paragraph response, you may begin."

Hmm, what even is transfiguration? Well, obviously you can change an object to other stuff, but I don't know the actual definition.

Before (Y/n) could get too deep into her thoughts, she was interrupted by the opening of the large doors in the back of the room. A few students, including (Y/n), turn around to see a panting Harry and Ron running through the center of the room to the front. (Y/n) shook her head to herself and she could've sworn she saw Hermione do the biggest eye roll of the century.

"Made it," Breathed out Ron. "Could you imagine the look on McGonagall's face if we were late?" Just after Ron spoke those words, the silent cat that was McGonagall, who was sitting upon the desk had transformed back into herself. "That was bloody brilliant!"

"Thank you for that lovely assessment Mr. Weasley," McGonagall replied sarcastically causing (Y/n) to lightly chuckle to herself. "Perhaps it would be more useful if I were to transfigure Mr. Potter and yourself into a pocket watch. That way one of you might be on time!"

      "We got lost."

      Yeah right.

"Then perhaps a map? I trust you don't need one to find your seats." With those words spoken, the two boys took seats next to the closest table.

The rest of the class (Y/n) was digging through her textbook while adding details on her parchment paper. The end of the class was soon coming to an end and (Y/n) had found herself quite content with how her paragraph response had come out. Although it was only a paragraph response, she had managed to use a whole piece of parchment paper, unlike most students who only used a third of the paper, which was normal. With the remaining five minutes of class (Y/n) was rereading what she had written and critiquing any mistakes she found which was close to zero.

The bell rang five minutes later and the group of Slytherins and Gryffindors piled together as they were all handing in their papers to McGonagall. (Y/n) found Hermione through the small crowd of first years and followed her to their next class which was potions. Soon enough, Viviana and Everley found their way to (Y/n) and Hermione.

"I've been so excited for potions ever since the hat told me about my supposed 'great potential'," (Y/n) grinned to her friends. The girls walked and talked until they reached the potions classroom. The four girls walked into the dimly lit room.

"Well this should be... interesting," Hermione said trying to stay positive about the lightless space the girls were stuck in for the next fifty minutes. (Y/n) spotted Harry and Ron in the third row and she forced Ron to move over so she could sit in the middle of him and Harry since she hadn't been able to speak with either of them since dinner last night. Hermione sat on Harry's left with Viviana and Everley next to her.

As (Y/n) was about to speak with Harry and her brother, she was cut off by the loud opening of the classroom door and in strolled the potions master, Professor Snape.
