Narrator's pov

Mia's legs sprinted with power, the tip of her toes dug into the grass and peeled it away as her feet moved forward. The girl stretched her arms out and aimed her palmed to the ground, she pushed up on one leg and tossed her body into a cartwheel.

The children giggled and gasped when the girl landed on her feet again. The birthday girl followed behind and did another cartwheel but his leg bent down before touching the ground.

"Thats it, don't worry about it. You'll get better, just practice" Mia smiled sweetly

"You think so?" the birthday girl asked, Mia chuckled and lowered herself to her level

"Goals don't come easy, we always have to work hard" Mia smiled, the girl nodded and went on her way to do another flip

Dani on the other hand was leaned against the big tree, her arms were crossed as her shoulder pressed against the plant. Her eyes locked onto the girl she was crushing on and how well she worked with children.

Mia had such a natural bubbly personality, it was hard for anyone to not want to be around her.

"Mia! I did it!" The birthday girl cheered, Mia squealed and hugged her tightly.

A smile appeared on Dani's lips just watching the girl. 

"Your girlfriend?" the birthday girl's mother asked as she approached the vampires, Dani snapped her attention away from the cheerleader

"Um, no... But I wish" Dani chuckled

"What's the problem then?" The dark skinned woman asked, her hands fixed the gift table in place that was knocked over by a bruised Disney character that laid on the ground beneath it

"She's straight and clearly not interested in me. There's this guy she claims to be in love with" Dani rolled her eyes

"Are you sure you're not that guy?" the woman laughed

"Huh?" Dani asked confused

"I'm pretty sure if I was straight, I wouldn't be looking at my friend like that knowing I'm interested in a guy" the woman replied and nodded in the direction of Mia

Dani snapped her gaze back to the cheerleader to find her eyes running along Dani's body. The Vampire raised her brow when Mia's eyes returned to her face and the cheerleader blushed deeply before looking away, embarrassed that she got caught.

"She always does that, it's her thing" Dani mumbled

"Are you trying to find an excuse to justify her actions because she's confusing?" the woman asked. Dani furrowed her brows

"Did you say 'if you were straight'?" Dani asked, the woman chuckled softly

"Yes, Cayden's other mom and I aren't together anymore but she'll be here soon" The woman replied

"Oh-" Dani responded

"Listen. I know you're not the magicians I ordered but you girls are pretty fun to be around, you're the only people that can calm these children down" the woman chuckled

"What gave it away, the lack of capes and hat?" Dani laughed

"I knew you weren't the magicians when I opened the door but I heard what happened at the open house. Word spreads like wild fire through this neighborhood" the woman chuckled
"So I said, why not help you guys out. Then I saw the cop and I knew you had to get out of there as soon as possible"

"Thank you, it really did mean alot" Dani smiled

"Not a problem. But thank you for giving Cayden the best birthday of her life" the woman grinned

"If you call this her best birthday then hunny, you're doing something wrong" Dani laughed

"Cayden isn't the most open person. She's shy, reserved. But now she's doing cartwheels and splits in front of his friends, I think that's a win" the woman smiled

Dani eyes locked with Mia's from across the backyard, the girl smiled and waved back at her before returning to the children below her that were tugging at her shirt

"Hey! We had a deal!" a voice said

Dani's eyes flickered down to the twins below her that held a pissed expression

"Aight ima head out" The mother said as she skimpered away.

"I guess you're the boss of everyone in this neighborhood" Dani laughed

"No one can handle us" the girl said

"What's your names?" Dani asked

"I'm Julia and this is Angel" The twins said

"Well, nice to meet you Julia and Angel. You've actually made my friend's day better" Dani replied

"Really?"

"Yep, she wasn't feeling that cheery today so I brought her to crash an open house" Dani smirked

"I aspire to be like you when I grow up" Julia said

"You'll regret those words" Dani smiled

"Anyways, it's your turn to put on a show" Angel said

"Ah right, what do you want to see?"

"Stupid Elsa doesn't have snow and Spongebob can't make Kraby Patties-" the girl said before her feet flew right into the mascot's arm, Spongebob groaned in pain

"I could work some magic if you'd like" Dani smirked, the twin's eyes lit up

"You can!?" They said in unison, twin ting

"But I won't reveal my secret" Dani smirked as she went into her wallet to hand the children ten dollars each

The Vampire made her way around the table and headed towards the stage, her eyes glanced at Mia that ran with the children and they followed behind her like ducklings. Their cheers filled the backyard

"Alright you sticky mistakes, gather around" Dani announced on the mic as she stepped onto the stage.

Mia raised her brow, curious to know what Dani was about to do. The children gathered around in their seats in front of the small platform stage before them. Mia stood behind with a smile on her face, ready to watch the show.

"Dammit, how am I gonna not make my eyes obvious" Dani whispered to herself. Then a light bulb went off.

"Let me just, put on my RED contact lens for you" She announced, the girl turned around so her back was facing the crowd as she pretended to put on contacts

The adrenaline coursed through her veins and the blood rushed through her, the Vampire's eyes flickered red before she turned around to the children. Their eyes went wide, almost scared at the glowing red.

"Where's the birthday girl?" Dani smirked

"He-Here" she stuttered while raising his hands

Dani smirked and walked off the stage, heading in the girl's direction. She gripped the seat as the glowing red eyes approached her. The other children squealed but looked on.

Dani's hands touched the girl's chair, the energy flowed through her veins and levitated the chair above the ground but she held the plastic chair so it would seem as though she was lifting it with one hand.

"Whooaa" Julia gasped in disbelief

"Holy sh-"

"Language!" Mia hissed at the girl as Dani walked past them, holding Cayden's chair over her head and she headed in the direction of the stage. The girl squirmed in the chair as his heart pounded against his chest.

Dani placed the girl on the stage and stood before the crowd.

"So Cayden, how old are you today?" Dani asked

"Eleven!" the girl smiled

"Damn, you're old" Dani hissed, the other children laughed.

Children will laugh at any dumb ass thing.

"No I noot" the girl giggled

"What's something you wish you could do?" Dani asked

"I wish I could flyyy" The girl said, Dani smirked

"Well bithday girl, I'm gonna make your wish come through" Dani smiled

"You are?" the boy gasped

"Ladies and gentlemen and non binary pals, feast your eyes on the most powerful 18 year old in the WORLD" Dani said dramatically

"She may look like a normal teenager, but she's far from that!" The girl said again. I mean... It's true...

"With muscles like John Cena and a body like a human-"

Well damn, I guess John Cena isn't human

"Watch as Cayden fullfils her dreams of flying" Dani smirked

The vampire held the girl by her waist, she smiled and lifted her up using her powers. The girl's jaw dropped. Her body floated above Dani's head but the girl held her leg to make it seem as if she was only balancing her with one hand.

The children gasped and ran out of the their seats, surrounding the bottom of the stage as they cheered.

Dani then replaced her hand with a single finger to balance the child, the children went even more crazy.
