Vader, once the Jedi hero and famed general Anakin Skywalker (or as he believed himself to be), looked out over the burning surface of Mustafar.  The human being in him brought a tear to his eyes as he recalled all he had done for his master.  Ruthlessly and without mercy, he butchered and slaughtered the Jedi at the Coruscant Temple and even killed the younglings.  He had betrayed all he knew.  He heard the roar of an engine and saw the Naboo yacht owned by his wife, Padme Amidala.  He ran to meet her.  They embraced and when they separated, Vader saw the distressed look on her face.

She was on the verge of tears as she looked him in the eye.  "Ani, what have you done?  Obi-Wan said you killed Jedi, murdered younglings and..." she started but was interrupted by Vader.

"I don't want to hear about Obi-Wan.  I've done all of this for you.  I can defeat the Chancellor.  I can rule the galaxy with you at my side, we won't have to hide anymore," Vader said with a crazed look in his eye.

Padme back away, shocked.  "I can't believe what I'm hearing.  You're breaking my heart.  Your going down a path I can't follow," Padme said, now sobbing.

"Because of Obi-Wan," Vader said with rising anger.

"I love you!" Padme said, pleading.

Vader looked up and saw the silhouette of Obi-Wan coming out of the yacht.  Enraged, he shouted "LIAR!" Padme was surprised to see Obi-Wan and looked back at Vader.  "You're with him!  You brought him here to kill me," Vader said as he raised a closing hand at Padme, choking her.

"Let her go, Anakin.  Let. Her.  Go!" Obi-Wan said sternly and menacingly.

Vader released her and turned away.  Obi-Wan dropped to her side and felt she was alive, just unconscious.  He stood up to address the Sith before him.  Vader looked over his shoulder at Obi-Wan.  "I won't let you take her from me!" He shouted.

"You have done that yourself.  Your lust for power has blinded you.  And now, you will reap the consequences.  The Dark Side never gives, it takes," Obi-Wan said.

"Do not lecture me Obi-Wan.  I see through the lies of the Jedi.  I do not fear the Dark Side as you do.  I have brought peace, freedom, justice, and security to my new empire," Vader ranted.

"Your new empire?  Anakin, my allegiance is to the Republic, to democracy!" Obi-Wan stated.

"If you're not with me, then you're my enemy," Vader replied.

"Only a Sith deals on absolutes," Obi-Wan said, dropping his cloak.

"Don't make me kill you," Vader said, filled with rage.

"I have no alternative.  I will do what must," Obi-Wan said as he took his lightsaber from his belt.

"You will try," Vader said.

Vader backflipped at Obi-Wan and ignited his lightsaber as Obi-Wan did the same with his.  The two threw a flurry of blows at each other as they fought across a narrow bridge to a control room for the mining operation.  As they dueled, Obi-Wan got thrown against a control panel, one that was soon hit by Vader's lightsaber.  Obi-Wan dodged, but neither of them noticed the anti-gravity of the rig shut down.  The two clashed further outside, dodging and stopping periodically to avoid getting hit by magma sprays.  A tower fell over as the two fighters climbed, still slashing at each other.  As the tower began to slip over the side of a magmafall (waterfall, but with lava), Obi-Wan spied an anti-grav platform and jumped on it.  Vader seeing his target escape, ran up the side of the tower and leaped on top of a worker droid mining the lava.  Vader steered it towards Obi-Wan and jumped on it.  The two stared at each other for a moment.

Vader was the first to speak.  "I should have known the jedi were taking over."

"Anakin, Chancellor Palpatine is evil," Obi-Wan said.

"From my point of view, the Jedi are evil," Vader replied.

"Well, then you are lost!" Obi-Wan said as the fighting continued.  Eventually, Obi-Wan began getting tired.  He looked at Vader, who stopped to look menacing.

"This is the end for you, my Master," Vader said.

Obi-Wan looked behind him and saw a slope which would open distance between him and Vader.  He jumped and landed on it and stared down at his oppoent.  "It's over, Anakin!  I have the high ground!" Obi-Wan shouted.

Vader pulled the platform to a position in front of the Jedi.  "You underestimate my power!" Vader said, his eyes glowing a sick yellow.

"Don't try it," Obi-Wan said, pleading.

Vader frontflipped over Obi-Wan, but was cut down and he slid down the hill.  He looked up at Obi-Wan.  "Master, help me!" Vader shouted said as he used his right arm, his only remaining limb, to get a grip on the hot ash.

"I'm sorry, Anakin.  But I can't help you anymore," Obi-Wan said as he picked up Vader's lightsaber.

"I HATE YOU!" Vader roared.

Obi-Wan turned back to him, crying.  "You were my brother, Anakin.  I loved you!" Obi-Wan said as Vader lightweight robes fell to close to the lava and burst into flames, burning the Sith.  As Vader screamed in agony, Obi-Wan turned and walked back to where Padme was.  She had regained consciousness.

"Obi-Wan,  when you told me it wasn't Anakin at all, I should have listened.  Instead, I risked my life and my baby's life," Padme said as she started to cry.  Obi-Wan turned to see the yacht, now suffering damage from the volcanic atmosphere of Mustafar.  The ship was now unusable.  As Obi-Wan sat down next to Padme, he rubbed her shoulder.  Soon, a black shuttle landed on the pad.  A hooded figure in black walked out.  Bastun took his helmet off and collapsed next to Obi-Wan.

"I didn't kill the Emperor.  I had a vision that showed the destruction of the Sith.  It will be a long time, but the Jedi will return again.  It will also mark the end of this 'Empire'.  We need to meet up with Yoda and Senator Organa," Bastun said as he picked up Padme and followed Obi-Wan into the yacht.  As Obi-Wan sat in the cockpit with R2-D2 and C-3PO, Bastun sat in the back, Padme leaning against him.

"Is Anakin alright?  Did he make it off Kashyyyk?" She asked.

"He's alive.  He took some shrapnel and some blaster fire, but he should be fine," Bastun said as he placed his hand on Padme's belly, feeling the kicks from her unborn baby.  "I remember when Briyanna was pregnant.  Echani make the worst women to deal with.  Her strick diet and exercise went out the window.  But it was in bed, falling asleep with my children moving and kicking me during the night, that was what made me happy.  Knowing they were alive and I would have something else to fight for.  To hold back my darkness for," Bastun said as he felt a sharp kick.  Padme started to sweat and she gasped.  Bastun's eyes went wide as he realized Padme was almost in labor.
