I felt a warm hand on my waist that made me open my eyes.

"I'm sorry babe." Neymar whispered in my ear. "I didn't mean to wake you."

"It's alright. What time is it?" I asked him as he wrapped his arms around me. I turned around and planted a kiss on his neck.

"It's almost 7. It took a little longer than I thought. Meaning they wouldn't leave."

"It's okay. They wanted to celebrate with you."

"But I want to celebrate with you."

"We can do that." I said, getting up on top of him. He grinned at me. I leaned down and kissed him on the lips slowly. I planted little kisses on his jaw and neck and then his lips again, before he grabbed me by the waist and in a swift motion turned us around again so he was on top of me. His body covered mine perfectly.

And then my stomach started growling.

"I figured you'd be hungry." He told me. "I got us some room service. Thought we shouldn't go down to the restaurant."

"I don't know if I will ever want to leave this room."

"We kind of have to. The flight leaves in two hours."

"I wish we had the chance to go out in Sao Paulo together."

"We will. I promise."

"Without being seen? We have to be careful." I said as he laid back down next to me.

"I know." He said, kissing my forehead. We heard a knock on the door and Neymar got up to answer it. I hid below the covers. "Come out, he's gone." Neymar said as he shut the door.

I stood up and wrapped my hands around him. "On second thought I'm not that hungry." I said kissing him.

I felt him smile under the kiss. "Oh you are going to need some strength."

"Who, me? You played an hour and a half game mister. You must be exhausted."

"On the contrary." He said. "I've never felt better. God, Liv," He whispered in my ear. "I've waited so long for this."

We took the food and went out to the balcony to eat. We were so high up there was no risk of being seen by anyone except for someone on our floor but I doubted someone would go out to the balcony at this hour.

We ate and laughed and talked and it was an amazing end to an amazing day. I didn't think I could ever feel so happy again. A voice in my mind said that maybe I didn't deserved it but I pushed it to the back of my head, hoping to silence it forever.

When we headed back inside I checked my phone, only then remembering I blew the guys off again. I texted Michael saying I was sorry I didn't get a chance to see them before we left.

"Do you think they are on to us?" Neymar asked me when I laid down next to him again and he wrapped his arm around me.

"Alex may be."

"Alex?" He turned to look at me, pulling my hair with his watch.

"Ouch." I said, rubbing my head. "He, I don't know... It was like he knew what was going on inside my head. When I came down to find you he said 'go'."

Neymar considered it for a second.

"Did you see them?" I asked him.

"From afar. I went up and when I finally saw them, I looked for you but you weren't there and people started to notice me. I was running out of time, so I run back."

"And found me."

"Thank God."

"Why, you think if we didn't meet then...?"

"That you might back off? Absolutely. I knew I had to catch you off guard." He joked.

"Maybe you're right." I said, kissing his neck. It was like I couldn't get enough of him. "We have to get up." I told him. "The bus is leaving for the airport in half an hour."

He nodded and got up, pulling me along with him. "Are you packed?"

"I technically never even unpacked. You know I kind of want to go back to Granja Comary."

"We will be able to have a little more privacy there." He said, giving me a peck on the cheek.

"I should go to my room." I told him. He leaned down and gave me a peck on the lips.

"I still can't believe this." He said. "That I get to do this," he said kissing me slowly on the lips, "whenever I want to."

"Almost." I said, my breath suddenly heavy.

"Almost is good enough. Thank you for finally..." He started saying.

"I'm sorry it took me this long." I cut him.

"It's okay." He said, before kissing me again.

When I finally left I hurried back to my own floor. I packed everything in my suitcase and put on my CBF jersey once again along with a cap. I made sure I hadn't forgotten anything before I headed to the lobby.

The moment the elevator doors opened I saw a disheveled Marina, with Alex and Peter.

"What happened to you?" I asked as she got out and we got in.

"No time to talk! We have to go get out things!" Peter said.

"Or we'll leave without you!" David who was approaching us said as the elevator door closed behind them.

"Hey." I said, letting out a huge smile.

"Jeez, Liv. I didn't know your face muscles could do that!"

"Haha." I mocked him. "Of course they can."

"I'm glad you finally saw the light. Even though you didn't have to do it in the most dramatic way possible." When I raised my eyebrows he continued: "Of course I saw your 'Notebook' kiss."

"God, I hate that movie. It was nothing like that."

"Of course it was. It was all the suppressed sexual tension. It was bound to happen."

"Better sooner than later."

"I wouldn't call that sooner, exactly." He mocked me.

"Better late than never then."

"That's more like it." He said and we both laughed.

"Hey." Neymar said approaching us.

"Oh, hi! I hadn't seen you in a while." I said, playfully.

"Oh God, you are going to be one of those couples aren't you? I'm going to vomit."

"I don't know what you are talking about. Neymar is my friend. Like he has always been." I said, innocently.

"Oh, I get it. It's never going to work, guys. Liv you do remember you barged into the locker room, asking for Neymar in front of everyone, right?"

"You did?" Neymar asked me, his face forming a cute smile.

"I'm definitely gonna vomit." David said, walking away, rolling his eyes.

We both laughed.

"Do you think he's right?" I asked Neymar. "If the coaches find out..."

"They won't. We will be careful." He said, brushing my arm with his hand discreetly.

"Let's go people." Coach Tandres said. "It's time to go home."

We followed him towards the parking lot and from the corner of my eye I saw Marina, Peter and Alex run towards us with their suitcases. I let out a small laugh since it was pretty comical.

We boarded the bus and Marina came and sat with me before Neymar could.

"I'm so mad at you right now." She said as I gave Neymar an apologetic look when he passed by us and sat next to Dani a few seats back.

"What happened?"

"It took us forever to leave the stadium! And then it took us forever to come back!"

"I'm sorry." I said.

"Why did you leave?" She asked me as Peter and Alex sat in front of us and turned around to look at us. It felt like old times.

"I... I wanted to talk to coach Coto." I said. "About something I noticed with Croatia's defense. And he asked me to stay." I was so good at making up lies on the spot.

"We should have stayed there too." Peter said. We would have enjoyed the game much more that way."

"Next time." Alex said. He looked at me strangely, like he was studying me.

We reached the airport and boarded the flight quickly without wasting any time. I sat next to Thiago and David once again as Neymar sat with Dani and Hulk.

I put my earphones on after a while since David and Thiago amused themselves as David recounted to Thiago what happened during the break with his hilarious commentary. I glanced back at Neymar once or twice, he had his headphones on but looked like he was sleeping.

When we reached Rio I woke up David and Thiago who were by then sleeping soundly.

"C'mon guys. We'll be home soon."

We boarded the team bus once again but this time Neymar was fast enough to board after me and we sat together.

As people around us succumbed to the fatigue andstarted falling asleep, we started feeling a little more comfortable. Neymar laid his head on my lap which wasn't that scandalous to begin with but he wouldn't have done it if the coaches were awake.

Soon his breathing became stable and he started sleeping. I watched him sleep, he looked so peaceful and handsome and I couldn't believe my luck.

In what felt like minutes later I saw bright lights and realized we were at the gate of the compound. "We are here." I whispered in his ear. He got up, rubbing his eyes with his hands.

We got out of the bus and headed inside, all of us too exhausted to talk. I headed towards my room with Marina.

"I'm gonna go to Bernard's." She said as soon as she left her suitcase. "I'll see you at practice in the morning."

I nodded, saying goodnight. I put on a comfy tank top and pajama shorts and waited a few minutes to make sure everyone would be in their rooms before I left.

I knocked on Neymar's door and he opened right away. He was only wearing boxers. "Ready for bed?" I asked as I got in.

"You bet." He said pulling me towards him for a kiss.

"I can't believe we have to be up in a few hours." I said as we laid down on his bed. He wrapped his arms around me. My head was on his chest and I could feel the beating of his heart slowing down as he started sleeping.

I felt tired and happy and warm and safe as I closed my eyes.
