2 months later

I sighed as I lay down on my bed. Saving up all the money I could from my small jobs, I decided to get a small apartment and live alone. It's not much, just a one bedroom apartment, but it's enough for me and I'm grateful.
Every night, Jimin greets me in my dreams. They all start off happy, but always end with him burning away in the fire while I can only watch him slowly be engulfed by the flames.

My heart hurts whenever I dream this, but sometimes, he comes to me at night and reassures me, telling me that he's fine. I long to see those dreams, but they happen ever so occasionally.

--

It's a rainy day today. The sky's dull; a mixture of grey and blue- not bright blue, but a very pale and almost dead one instead. Ironically, I enjoy this type of weather. It's only drizzling slightly, nothing too severe, so I'll just wear my coat instead.

I stepped out of my building, the petrichor smell filling my nose. Off to work at the bar again. My small figure is lost in the crowds of people with umbrellas shielding their heads. We're all stuck together, busy bees trying to get to our specified destinations. As I walk through these mounds of people, someone bumps my shoulder hard.

"I'm sorry."

That voice. How am I supposed to forget that voice?

Hastily I turn around, seeing the man disappearing into the crowd. Not caring about anything in the world, I pushed people aside, trying to get to that specific person. I'm about to reach him, but someone comes in my way. Pushing them aside, I look around, but he's nowhere to be found.

"Aargh!" I yell, earning stares from the surrounding people. My heart stops momentarily, was it really him?

How can he be here?

I need to find him before it gets dangerous.

I'm not letting him get away!

--

Time- 11:37 pm.

"Thank you, bye," I wave at my boss as she hands me over my salary. It's dark out, and I had to work until night today because my colleague who works the night shift had called in sick today. Stuffing my pay into my bag, I walk out of the bar and outside. It's deserted almost, except for some of the drunk men and women out here and the few teens. The streets are dimly lit here, so I make sure to walk fast. That same feeling lingers in me, a feeling I haven't felt for a few months. The feeling that someone is watching me, that someone is behind me. I quicken my pace, my heart only shatters as I hear their pace quicken behind me. I'm not taking any chances, and because I'm a fast runner, I take into a full on sprint into a random street, not wanting the person to know where my house is. I don't stop here, instead I run farther and farther until I'm 100 percent certain I'm not being followed anymore. My hands rest on my buckled knees, my lungs grasping for air. It takes me a minute to calm down until I carefully make my way back home.

I pull the sheets over my head, snuggling into their warmth. I check the time- 12:00 am.
My brain recalls what happened earlier. That voice, and then me being followed. I need to see him in person, I'm not taking any chances in losing him.

I've been asleep for an hour I think, until I hear some noise outside.

???'s POV

I've been left hungry and cold and have no option but to steal. That woman from earlier, she looked as if she had gotten her pay and she looked uncomfortably familiar. She thought she escaped from me, heh, she didn't.

Mina's POV

I shuffled uneasily in bed. Something felt off. I'm not the one to ignore hunches and gut feelings, so reluctantly I get up quietly to go and lock my door. My hand is on the handle until someone pushes it open harshly, making me stumble back.

He's wearing all black...and those footsteps of his which seem to be getting closer with every passing second sound familiar to the ones following me. That squeaky and rubbery sound which usually comes from old shoes. I hold my breath, it's dark and hopefully he can't see me here, so he shouldn't be able to find me, unless I make a sound.

I sit hunched in the corner, until someone slams something onto my face, making me pass out in a few seconds by the smell.

--

I wake up in a cold and dark place. Pitch black.
I realize I'm in some old building of some sort, because I feel rubble all around me.

"Aish, so dark I couldn't even see her damn face," a low voice grumbles from somewhere behind me. I gulp, closing my eyes again and not making a single squeak of sound.

Something shifts behind me, and I'm being lifted up. My body is carried somewhere outside, where even from my eyes closed, I could feel light hitting my face, then I'm gently placed down.

"Oh my God..."

That voice.

My eyes shoot open, then they close and open again. I cannot believe what I'm seeing.

"H-how.."

I scamper to my feet, looking at the man before me in this state.

"Jimin!" I sob and engulf him in a hug.

"The fu*k happened to you?! How'd you escape?!" I had so many questions.

"Mina...I'm sorry, I didn't know it was you..oh my God, I'm so sorry..." he held his head and started shaking it violently.

"Calm down and let's talk at my house," I said, stopping him before his head fell off.

I washed my face and made two cups of hot chocolate.

"Here, take this."

We sat opposite, facing each other directly.

"Tell me what happened from the very beginning."

"Well, when I told you to leave me in the fire, I had felt something behind me. You had gone by then, but when I looked behind me, I realized there was a small door there. So I pushed it with all my strength, and to my luck it opened. There was a dark tunnel which seemed to start from this door, so I closed it behind me and started dragging myself through. Eventually I had found the exit. I was left homeless and poor. My house was sold and I was jobless. So the only way to survive was to...steal. I don't hurt people, it's just that- that something seemed a bit off about you so I brought you there. I didn't mean any harm. I'm so ashamed- And I'm sorry for not coming to you." He burst into tears. "I was just afraid that you wouldn't be able to accept me, seeing me like this," his whole being was shaking.

I could only watch in silence. What was there to do really?

After some silence, I spoke again.

"You're staying with me."

"What? No I c-can't! I'll only be a burden to you-"

"A burden?" I laughed.

"Don't be silly Jimin. Do you remember what we are?" I looked him dead in the eyes.

"Do you?"

"Of course. I'm your boyfriend."

"Then what the hell are you talking about, huh? You are gonna stay with me and that's the end of it, I don't care what you say because I'm not going to listen."

I got up abruptly.

--

A knock came at my door and he peeked his head inside.

"Mina?"

"Hm?"

"I need to shower..."

"Sure, the bathroom's there," I pointed to my attached bathroom.

"Thanks, and clothes?"

I looked through my closet for my biggest clothes. Luckily I managed to pull out an oversized white t- shirt with some large basketball shorts.

"Here."

"Thanks."

I had showered when I left him in the living room to think, so I was all good. That damn dust had gotten into my hair making me annoyed.

Half an hour later, he came out of the bathroom; towel around his neck with my clothes on him, and though they were my biggest ones, they still managed to be a bit small on him.

"So where am I gonna sleep?"

"You can sleep on my bed, I'll sleep on the couch," I said about to walk out, but he grabbed my wrist, pulling me towards him.

"No."

"I'll sleep on the couch."

"No no no. You've been out on the streets and have been living uncomfortably for the last two months, so you get the luxury of my bed."

He looked at me for a second before smiling, "I'll only have the luxury in sleeping in your bed if you're with me."

I blushed at his words, but finally gave into him.

We lay close together like the old times. My heart beating even faster.

He had his arm around me while pulling me close.

"Jimin."

I felt so happy right now.

"You're real right?"

"Of course I am."

"This is not another dream right?"

"Nope, it's one hundred percent real."

"Pinch me, I don't want to be giving myself false hope."

I waited for him to pinch me, but then I felt him lean across and plant a kiss on my lips, making me smile.

"I'm real and with you, so don't worry."

"Jimin."

"Yes?"

"...T.O.P is not dead."

I felt him tense up for a second, his grip tightening around me protectively.

"He's gone now. Though he may still be alive, we'll make sure to not have another encounter with him again. Ever."

"But what if he knows where we are?"

"Then I'll kill him."

--

As I woke up the next morning, I felt his strong arms around me, making me smile brightly. It's been months since I've felt this happy and complete.

"Jimin, I'm going to work, I'll be back at 4, and don't go anywhere. I've made breakfast for you, it's outside, bye," I waved to his half asleep figure who lazily waved back.

"Be safe."

"I will."

It was 3:51 pm, I waited impatiently to get home,

Someone came up to me for a beer, they had a hat on their head with a strange aura surrounding them. It was strange yet familiar.

"Here you go," I handed them the cup.

"Thank you..." I caught his eye, and time seemed to have stopped.

He coughed and looked away.

Someone came to me for another order, and I was distracted by that. When I came back, I saw a note under the cup.

"So we meet again.
Let's catch up sometime.
How about at the place it all started?
9 pm.
Come alone.

-Master."

I shuddered, stuffing the note into my pocket. My shift was over and I hastily made my way back home, seeing Jimin watching T.V.

"Hey Jimin!" I chirped.

"Yayyyyh, you're back!" He held out his arms like a four year old. I went and hugged him, not wanting to break this happy moment, but it was necessary.

"Jimin, I need to tell you something."

"Yes?"

I turned the T.V off, now fully putting my attention towards him.

"Today T.O.P came to the bar...and he saw me."

Jimin stopped moving.

"You're sure it was him?"

"Yes, just look at this," I handed him over the note and I could tell he was getting paler and paler by the second.

"That son of a bitch!"

"You're not going, I am."

"No. We're going together Jimin. I'm not sending you alone."

"No-"

"Yes, now shut up!"

We got our things ready. On my way to work I had decided to buy somethings for Jimin to wear. He was given those clothes. We got the flashlights ready along with the knives and my phone.

It was 9:01, the area where the mansion was remained the same...except for the fact that the mansion had disappeared.

We waited five minutes until we heard clapping from behind us.

"So I see you've made it, huh?"

"You son of a-" he held a gun to Jimin's temple.

"Say one more thing and you and your pretty little girlfriend are dead."

His baleful expression then turned into a playful and sinister smirk.

"Let's play a game then?"

Everything around us vanished and changed into a maze. A dark green one- something which reminded me of an endless forest, and Callidus.

I ran through the narrow path, trying to find my way out. Something slithered in front of me, making me stop dead in my tracks and change my direction.

This was like a game of hide and seek.

Except if you got caught, you wouldn't end up as the next seeker, you would end up dead.

It was creepy. I felt like I was lost in a clown maze, something horrible was just out there to get me.

That's when I felt something on my ankles, and-

"AHHHHHHHH!"

Me and Jimin were tied up together, not with ropes...but with the snake.

The devil himself appeared in front of us, chuckling with an amused expression splattered across his face.

"So you two have been caught?"

"No shit," I spat out.

"Hmm, I missed you Mina."

The smoke engulfed us, blocking our vision. Our vision was blurred, until I found myself looking at the two fighting. Jimin held a knife against T.O.P who held the gun.

"Give it back!"

"No!"

The snake was coming towards us now.

"Mina, let's run!" He stabbed T.O.P in the shoulder in a rush.

But he stabbed him on the right one.

"Jimin, you stabbed him in the wrong side-"

"-doesn't matter, let's get out!"

We had been running for ten minutes, and stopped to catch our breaths.

God knows how long we were in that maze because it was 11:56 pm, and the streets were empty.

"Good thing we got away from him," I said.

"Silly girl."

My breath stopped. I slowly turned my head towards him, my eyes almost about to fall out of my socket as his expression changed from Jimin to T.O.P.

"You can never escape."

I sprinted the hell away from him, towards the mansion area where Jimin was actually lying with a stabbed shoulder. I could hear him yelling and running from behind me. My heart beat increased with every step I took. I felt tired, I wanted to give up, I was a fast runner, but had short stamina. But I have to keep going. I can't lose now.

I heard groaning in the distance. I quickened my pace, running towards the figure.

"You're okay, get up, hurry," I heaved him up, taking the gun out of his hands.

Something came towards us, and before I could even think, I shot the gun towards it.

He screamed.

"CALLIDUS! YOU KILLED CALLIDUS! MY-MY C- CALLIDUS," he dropped onto his knees and broke into a sob.

"I'll get you back for this you bitch!" He got up, pulling out a gun from behind, and once again I shot without knowing.

I shot twice.

One for hurting me, and one for hurting Jimin.

He stumbled back, blood oozing out of his mouth.

"You-you..."

"Good, now you and your snake die together," I spat out, Jimin holding onto me tightly, grasping his wounded shoulder.

I called the police.

We waited ten minutes for them until we heard sirens.

There was yet another session held.

We explained the whole story and were pleaded innocent.

Jimin and I both work at the bar now.

Jungkook and the rest of BTS were delighted to see him and I.

Finally Jimin and I were able to live and love together in peace.

We're happy.

Finally we've put an end to this dare game.

END
