"GOING TO HAPPEN, PEETA.."
--¤☆¤--

Groggily opening my eyes, a searing pain spread throughout my head as I was greeted with a bright white light. If I didn't feel the pain in my head, I would have thought I had died. Stretching my legs out, I winced as a sharp pain shot throughout my left leg, almost as if I had been stung by something. I don't remember being stung by anything. Tilting my head to the right, I found myself looking out what appeared to be a glass door? No, window?

Narrowing my eyes, I could see a figure sitting on the floor on the other side of the glass.Their knees tucked close to their chest and head leaning on their kneecaps hidden from view. Water sat at their ankles, probably at least two, maybe three inches high. Odd. Why was the room not filled all the way? Why only a few inches? Another thing that I noticed was that the figure's hair had been shaved off, making it harder to figure out who the person was.

"Hello?" I whisper, looking to the left.

Sitting in another room, was another hunched over figure, their hands covering their ears. The faint sounds of bees buzzing could be heard coming from that room. Staring carefully, I could barely see the outline of something floating around the room. Dust? A bee? Hanging on the wall in front of them was a large T.V screen, that was currently turned off at the moment.

"Hello?" I called again.

Nothing. Maybe they can't hear me? Sitting up slowly, a wave of dizziness hits me, making me blink a few times. Shakily standing up from the ground, my knees felt like jelly as I tried to stand straight. Leaning against one of the walls, I shift my body weight from one leg to the other in the desperate hope of finding some temporary relief. Hopefully, I could get some pain meds.

Slowly circling the room, the two walls on my right and left side were made of glass. The rest were thick concrete. Looking straight ahead, I found myself also staring at a pitch black T.V screen just like the figure to the left of me. Looking at the t.v screen, it turned on making me flinch at the action. What was Snow playing at?

"Hello?" I called one last time.

At first there was a bunch of static on the screen, but then it stopped. The camera started to roll. The screen showed a view of a dark jungle, in the bottom corner there was a time stamp; 'DAY TWO, 4:49 AM'. Glitching for a second, the video speed's up until it shows Me, Johanna, Beetee, Wiress and Blight. It was the night of the rain. Leaning forward, I silently watched the video, my fight with curiosity and logic was clearly over. My curiosity had won.

"I hate to interrupt, I really do. But, I suggest that we leave. It's possible that nearby tributes or mutts could have heard us." Beetee inputs, as we pull away from each other.

Letting out a small sigh, he was right, we were being too loud and probably told everyone in a ten mile radius. Growling at him, her hand reaches for her discarded axe, ready to cave his head in. Grabbing her hand to stop her, I shook my head at her to show her that it wasn't worth it. We needed him. He was smart and resourceful. It's better to have him as an ally rather than an enemy. Besides, I don't think I could handle seeing someone die.

"Johanna, what did you do to your hair?" I said, chuckling at her choppy hair.

"Cut it off. It was in the way." She said bluntly, running her other hand through her messy hair.

"It's nice." I said, smiling at her.

"Thanks but, Volts is right. We need to get going, it looks like a storm is coming." She said, standing up.

Holding her hand out for me, I smile and grab onto it as she pulls me up from the leaf ridden floor. God knows what I've been sitting on. Dusting off some dirt from my back, I looked up at the sky and squinted my eyes to see what they saw. The sky was dark, with not a fake star in sight. The clouds were thick and I couldn't tell if the rest of the Arena was like this. Or if it was just us.

"You're right. We should find some cover, for all we know it could rain acid or be a lightning storm." I said, agreeing with her.

Hearing the rumbling of thunder, I tense up as I watch the sky darken if that was even possible. The once deep blue sky was a dark black. Clouds blocked the view of the stars, the air seemed to be even more hot and humid but also strangely tense. They were right, we need to leave now. Rumbling rather loudly, we all tensed up as the first drop of rain fell onto the ground, hitting a rock.

"I have a bad feeling about this." Beetee whispers, holding onto Wiress's arm for support.

Inching our way under a tree, I nod my head in agreement, something was off. I didn't know what. But something wasn't right about this. Sticking my hand out in hopes of collecting some of the rain, I managed to collect a few drops. While the others resorted to sticking their tongues out as an attempt to drink it.

It's not that easy. The Game Maker's won't make it that easy for us. Staring at the 'water' in my hands, I realized that it was in fact blood. Oh my god. It was blood. Gagging as the metallic smell hits me, I dropped the blood and stared at the others in horror, they were drinking blood.

"It's blood! Oh my god! It's blood!" I screamed, making the other spit out the blood.

Puking up the blood, it was like a switch had been flipped by the Gamemakers. The once light rain was now pouring hard making it hard to see anything. How were we supposed to find our way out? Gagging as some blood got into my mouth, I wiped my mouth with my sleeve, but it was already stained with blood. Hearing a cannon go off, we all tense up and grab our things with more urgency than before. We need to get out of here.

"Head to the beach!" Johanna screams, as we grab our things.

When suddenly the screen goes black until a picture pops up of Wiress, similar to photos that appeared in Finnick's video. Feeling a lump in my throat, I look away from the screen, shutting my eyes tightly. She was a good person. Odd. But, a good person. Sucking on my bottom lip, I sank down to the floor as tears built up in my eyes, she was a good person. Covering my mouth with my hand, a chilling voice fills the air making the hairs on my arm rise.

"Remember the Capitol is your friend. The Capitol has served you well. Panem will collapse without the order and structure of the Capitol. Panem will burn without the Capitol. Join the Capitol in eliminating all rebels and rebellion." Snow's voice repeats.

Staring at the pitch black screen, I lick my bottom lip soothing the cracks of painfully dry skin. My mind still had the fresh image of Wiress. Of her death. Feeling something wet being poured on me, I let out a loud gasp as the warmness of whatever it was that was poured on me ran down my back. Pressing my hand onto my back, the warmth of the liquid stains my fingertips. Shakily pulling it back, fear filling me.

Screaming at the top of my lungs, I found myself staring at my now blood stained hand. Blood. Blood. Blood. Stumbling backwards, I could feel drops of the warm blood trailing further and further down my shoulder and onto my lower back. Screaming as more and more blood began to rain from the ceiling, I was now drenched head to toe in blood. Almost no body part of mine was left dry.

"ATHENA!" A familiar voice screams, making me look around the room frantically.

It was him. Goosebumps formed on my skin at the sound of the scream, turning around the room in circles, my eyes darted back and forth around the small room. Searching for him. For Finnick. Tears bubble up as I hear another painful scream, this time it was coming from the person to the left of me. Hunching forward, I could feel more and more warm blood trailing down. It felt as though hands were all over my body.

Covering my ears, I could feel my breath begin to quicken as panic builds and builds. Clawing at my neck, I gasped for air as it got harder and harder for me to breathe. The smell of blood flooded my senses, making me feel even more dizzy. Everything was too much. The smells. The sounds. It was too much.

"ATHENA!" Finnick's voice screams back, making my legs give out on me.

"I should have died. I should have died. But I⎯I didn't. It would have been better if I had died." I croak out, before shutting my eyes tightly.
