"SEE THE KIDS TODAY.."

--¤☆¤--

Elbowing her brother in the gut, Carrie continued to drag along Thalia with her to the Infirmary; with her brother struggling to keep with the pair. They were going to have to run up one more flights of stairs, but after running up thirty already; they were beyond tired. Damian was beginning to slow down his pace, making both his sister and Thalia stop and slow down their own; not wanting to leave him behind.

They all wanted to see Athena together as one big group, not wanting to have to wait any longer; after all it had been at least two months since they saw her. It was bad enough that they knew very little about how she was doing or where she was, seeing as how they were purposely left out of the loop with Finnick and Hermes; no matter how many begs and pouty lips they gave. So they were going to take advantage of seeing her, even if it meant that they would have to bite and claw their way into the room.

"Why can't they have a elevator? Why haven't they thought about it?! Like⎯Who want's to walk up and down hundreds of stairs?! Seriously, I want to know who the hell decided that putting hundreds of stairs was a good idea?!" Damian pants, leaning against the railing as he pants for air.

"Damian hurry your fat ass up! We got one flight left, until we are on the Infirmary floor!" Thalia shouts, wiping her brow clean of the sweat that was forming.

"Also⎯Another thing! Who the fuck created two floors for the Infirmary? Like was one not enough? There are hundred rooms on each floor! So why the fuck do they need two floors?!" Damian moans, dragging his feet as he uses the railing for support.

"Watch your language, you fucking baby!" Carrie shouts, taking deep breaths; also using the railing.

"But! That's not fair! You were just swearing, Carrie! Don't be a hypocrite." Damian mutters, earning glares from both girls.

"Who's the oldest? Me. So I get to curse. Plus, your still a baby! I mean your voice hasn't even cracked yet! You still sound like a squeaky toy!" Carrie remarks, making her brother blush and Thalia giggle; which only made him blush even more.

"I do not!" He said, his voice squeaking slightly; making him clear his throat, in hopes of fixing it.

"Whatever you say, Squeakers." Carrie mutter's, her voice low; but not low enough as her brother heard it.

"Okay then⎯um⎯you⎯um.." Damian resorts, struggling to come up with a insult of his own.

"It seem's like baby is forgetting how to speak. Is it past your nap time? Let's get you to bed." Carrie mocks, making Damian shoot daggers at her.

"Fine you win. But, my body was not made for this! This is too much running up and down!" Damian complains, rolling his eyes at his sister, begrudgingly letting the insult's go.

"Your body was not made for a lot of things! Like running or eating vegetables, right?" Thalia mocks, making Damian huff and pick up his pace.

Walking in front of the girls, he could hear them muttering praises and compliments amongst one another for their insult's about him; making him feel even more embarrassed. It was bad enough that he couldn't even lift a bag of flour without one of the girls help, but now not being able to trade insult's with his sister?

This was the second to most embarrassing thing to happen to him. The first being when he asked out Thalia, and she told him that she had been dating Carrie for the past month; she was a fucking lesbian, and somehow he didn't notice it. Even thinking about it, he couldn't help but cringe at the awkwardness that had brewed in that moment.

"Look there's Hermes! He should know where she's at!" Carrie shouts, pouting at a now fearful looking Hermes; as he see the looks they are giving him.

"I call dibs on being the bad Peacekeeper!" Damian shouts, running after Hermes; as he attempts to tackle Hermes to the ground.

After cornering Hermes and a little bit of threatening to swaddle him to death with a pillow, the trio were able to get a room number and floor out of him; door number seven on the first floor. Running to door seven, Carrie grabs the handle just as Finnick was leaving; making Damian crash head first into Finnick's chest. Groaning in pain, both of them clutch their injured selves making the girls scoff at the dramatic's. They didn't hit each other that hard, it was almost like when someone bumped shoulder's with you.

'Ugh..Boys..' They both thought.

"Do you think she's in here?" Carrie asked, voicing her thoughts.

"Probably, Finnick was in here. He would be by her side if she was here." Thalia replied, biting her bottom lip nervously.

Rolling their eyes, Thalia and Carrie creep past the boys; entering the room with nervous smiles. Letting out a deep breath, the girls hold on to each other's hands and look at the nurses and doctor's. Pushing his way past Finnick, Damian and the girls scan the room for any signs of Athena but found none; making the nerves bubble in their stomach's. Looking at the closed curtains of one section, hope bubbles up when it opens up to reveal; a empty bed?

"Where the fuck is Athena?!" Damian shouts, making even more heads turn in the trio's direction.

"Damian! No cursing!" Carrie screams, slapping her brother on the side of the head.

"Don't hit me, Carrie!" He shout's, rubbing his head.

"Oi! Shut up! Some of us would like to die in peace and quiet!" Johanna remarks, making their head snap in her direction.

"Where is she, Fishstick?!" Damian bellows, sending glares at Finnick.

Rubbing his chest, He points to the last bed in the very back of the room; with the curtains drawn shut. Taking deep breaths, the shakily walked over to the bed; trying desperately to stay calm as possible. Many thoughts ran through out their heads, but the main one was fear of this being a lie that Finnick told; in hopes of it getting them to leave him alone.

"Is it just me or does anyone else feel like their gonna be sick?" Damian mutters, wiping the sweat off his hands.

"Nope⎯I do too." Thalia mutters, her hand gripping onto Carrie's a little tighter.

"Are we sure that it's not because of the cafeteria food?" Carrie ask's, looking at her brother's now queasy face; as he looks at some blood filled vile's that the nurse's were passing among each other.

"Maybe. Does anyone else feel like we're walking really slow?" Damian ask's, swallowing his stomach contents.

Picking up their pace, they approach the little sector with sweaty palms and jittery stomachs. Stopping in from of the curtain, they look at each other before Damian and Thalia give a Carrie a nod to open the curtain. Reaching out for it, her hands shook slightly from just how nervous she was at that moment; which only worsened Damian and Thalia's own nerves.

'You got this, Carrie..' Carrie kept on thinking, trying to boost her confidence.

Gripping onto the curtain, Carrie let's out a small prayer that it be Athena laying on the bed; that she actually be there, and this not be a joke of some kind. Pulling the curtain back, they all let out a small gasp as they take in the sight before them; sitting on the edge of the bed, getting her blood drawn. There she sat. Athena Grey in the flesh.

"You look like shit.." Damian mutters, staring at her with wide eyes.
