"COULD SAY THE SAME..."

--¤☆¤--

After eating my lunch, I was escorted to another meeting by Boggs; claiming that it was important. Leaving Finnick behind unintentionally, I regret not dragging him along with me as the nerves got worse. Fidgeting with my bracelet, I walk into the room keeping my eyes onto the floor as I pass by an empty chair. Looking up, I found myself looking at President Coin and Plutarch seated at the end of the table; similar to how they were the last time I was in this meeting room.

Only this time, I didn't have Finnick by my side to rub comforting circles on the back of my hand. Or have Haymitch made funny faces while Plutarch talked. I was left alone. Standing at the other end of the table, I stand there awkwardly as I try to hold onto what little confidence I had. But it was harder than I thought it would be.

"Afternoon, Miss.Grey.." Coin greets, a hint of a smile on her face.

"Afternoon..So why have I been called here?" I ask, fearful that she would start to scold me like a teacher would with a child.

"Right! I believe that you made some demands..Do you have your request's prepared?" She asks, as I nod.

"I do..um..Okay..First things first, I want any and all information about Donna and Harry Moore's condition to be sent to Hermes Davis..I owe those kids everything.." I said, making Coin nod.

"Understandable..I'm sure Beetee can see if there are any reports or list of their deaths..If not he can attempt to contact the Rebels there for the wellbeings of the Moore's.." She said, making me smile.

"Good! I mean thank you, President Coin.." I said, clearing my throat.

"The second thing, I want information on my father..Or anything on my family for that matter..Any letters or files on them.." I said , making Coin nod and Plutarch furrowed his brows.

"Your father?" Plutarch pipes in, making me stiffen.

"Yes, my father..I know that my mother died in a house fire for certain..but my father's whereabouts have been unknown since I won my games..I need to know anything about him.." I explain, swallowing the lump in my throat at the mention of my mom.

"Once again Beetee will see what he can do.." Coin replies, her answer stoic.

"My Dad's name was Theodore Grey, if that helps.." I said, as Plutarch pulls out a tablet and starts to write things down.

"All of these so far seem reasonable..Anything else you may wish or want?" Plutarch asks, making me smile.

"A wedding.." I said, making the both of them freeze in place.

"A wedding? Who for?" Coin asks, sending me a cold and calculated look; like she was trying to see if I was bluffing.

"Me and Finnick.." I said, smirking internally at the look on Coin's face as she sees that I am being serious.

"I didn't know you two were engaged.." Plutarch said, with a flabbergasted look on his face.

"It's only happened recently..but I want me and Finnick to marry..We don't know how long we will have..With this war anything is possible..I want to marry him before anything happens.." I said, making the look of shock melt away and soon be replaced with one of understanding from Plutarch.

"How soon would you like it, Miss.Grey?" Coin asks, looking at Plutarch and motioning for him to take note.

"Soon..but if I have to wait a month or a few more weeks then I'm fine with that..The main thing I want is to marry him.." I said, as Coin looks at her hands in deep thought.

"Okay..." Plutarch said, looking at Coin for an answer.

"Plutarch? When would it be possible for the wedding to occur?" Coin asks, making Plutarch look up from his tablet.

"The end of the month can be doable..Let's say on Friday? It would give the other's time to prepare..As well as give Beetee the time to get it broadcasted by the start of the following week.." Plutarch said, making Coin perk up in her seat.

"Broadcasted? It would be good for the District to see, and it would allow you to be able to replay these moments in future years.." Coin said, making me shift uncomfortably in my seat.

Even though I wasn't a Mentor or a Tribute anymore; I couldn't help but feel the need to nitpick everything about the pair. From scanning their body languages, to scanning the way that they presented themselves. Plutarch subconsciously would tap his finger onto the table, his pointer finger first with the rest of his finger's hovering over the table; then his ring finger. It was always in the same pattern, every single time always on beat.

While Coin would be straightening her posture and constantly readjusting her face, one second she would have a neutral expression; then it would be masked with a cold look. It was the same masking the Victor's did, the same exact masking that Snow would do. She didn't seem to process that there were no eyes or camera's on her, no one was looking to see if she was slipping up. That just gave me another reason to look over my shoulder now. It was like being in the Capitol, only with slightly more freedom.

"Then it is settled! By the end of the month, Finnick and Athena will marry! Plutarch contact Cressida and her crew, and informs them that they will be needed..Also contact Beetee and inform him that I want the wedding to be plastered on every television in Panem.." Coin order's, as she leaves the room; leaving behind me and Plutarch.

Nodding his head, he scribbles down her order's onto a screen making me clench my jaw. I knew that me and Finnick's wedding was nothing but a stepping stone to them. Something that was minor and wasn't as important as the war that was going on. The thing was, I didn't want my wedding to be used for the Rebellion. I wanted my wedding to be between me and some trusted friends, like Johanna, Katniss, Peeta, Haymitch, Hermes's and the kids. I want this to be me and Finnick's moment of peace before we prepared for war.

"Alright then-" Plutarch starts, but I cut him off.

"Remember this, Plutarch when you are planning and talking to the other's about broadcasting our wedding...Me and Finnick were never allowed a happy moment with Snow breathing over our shoulders..I never told him that I loved him until, now...This is me and him taking that back, this is us finally being happy.." I said, taking a deep breath; before continuing.

"We've lost people before this Rebellion was even a thought..We know that you Rebel's want everything and anything to be used for this war..I already agreed to help, but don't turn this..Our wedding into a stepping stone for the rebellion...Let us have this moment of peace before the war.." I said, glaring at the man.
