DAY 12

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Adam, Abby, Simon, Carlos, Marco and Lexi sat in the dining room. Bowls of cereal were placed before Carlos, Lexi, Abby and Marco, while Adam and Simon had some buttered toast, Adam's covered with Peanut Butter and Simons covered with Nutella. Adam and Marco both had their coffees, Adam on his second cup already, and in the time they had all gotten out of their rooms, not one person had broken the silence except for footsteps among footsteps.

The silence lasted for a while longer, right until the point everyone finished their meals but no one moved from their seats, they simply stared at their empty dishes.

"Jacob hasn't come out of his room, yet" Abby said.

They took a look towards Jacob's room, the door hadn't opened at all.

"He could be sleeping in, he did stay up after everyone last night" Simon said.

"I don't understand how he could've stayed up so long, last night was..." Adam started to say but his voice trailed off, and no one even tried continuing his speech.

Marco began standing up and pushed his chair in, "Let's just clean up, we have a new floor to check, right?"

Everyone gave off a nod but Lexi didn't move from her seat with everyone else, she sat with her arms to her sides and her head lowered.

"Are you alright, Lex?" Carlos said as he picked his dishes up.

"This is happened three times already..." Lexi began saying.

Adam began walking up to the girl, "Lexi, it's alright, we won't let it happen again, I'm sure of that."

"No, listen to me alright?!" Lexi said as she pushed her table slightly forward so she could sit up without moving her chair.

She turned to the other five in the room, her hands gripping her clothing tightly, "This has happened three times, and we've done nothing! We've said we'll try our best to find a way out, and that we'll promise to not follow the rules, even if it means being here longer, but it keeps happening. So from now on, I'm not letting it happen again!"

Lexi, compared to her fear at the end of the trial yesterday, seemed heroic. Her face was confident, and her body was no long trembling except for her clenching hand on her clothes. Everyone could see she was serious.

"Agreed" Abby said, "This has been getting to us so much that it's making us lose a sense of what to do, so we have to keep trying instead of stopping every time something bad happens. I'm sure everyone else would want that as well."

"I expect they would, they only did what they did because of Monokuma, without him we would be fine" Marco said.

At Marco's words, that menacing laughter echoed through the speakers and from the kitchen, with his step long and fluent, came Monokuma with a grin on his head and a monocle held on his right, black eye.

"I see, I see, you blame mwah for the wrong doings. But I am a simple bear, folks. You should be blaming the real person" he said with a formal voice.

"We have no idea who that is, you idiot! Besides, we don't care. If you are just going to keep us trapped here, then you're going to be bored, we're not doing what you wish anymore" Adam said.

Monokuma threw the monocle away and let out a sigh, "Whatever, I was getting bored with the same old moments anyway. You guys either try to be confident, or you're all silent, it's stupid! I wanted something more. But if you want something to be interesting, I guess you do it yourself" Monokuma said as he lightly chuckled.

"What do you mean?" Carlos said.

"I mean go and check the fourth floor! Your other buddy already has, and he's found the gifts I placed, so you better hurry on after him bucko."

Monokuma ran right for the kitchen again, and as everyone peeked in, they saw him jump into the fridge with the door closing after him but they chose to ignore it.

"The fourth floor, I almost forgot" Simon said.

"Let's head off then, Jacob seems to have already checked it, is that why he isn't here?" Abby said.

"Probably, let's head there" Adam said, and they began heading for the new floor.

The end of the third floor, which had been a dead end before the last class trial, now was opened up to reveal a staircase which rose in a circular pattern. As they walked up the staircase, the end of it met with an opening which led into a large, oval shaped room. To the left of the doorway they entered, inside the oval room, was a tall fireplace that were normally seen in rich mansions. On the outer wall were four different doors.

"We should split up and search them" Adam said.

Simon taps Marco's shoulder, "Should we check the left door?"

Marco nods in agreement and the two of them head for the door while Lexi and Abby agree to check the door beside that, followed by Carlos entering the door after that by himself, and finally Adam going into the final door by himself.

It took 45 minutes until everyone had finished checking the new rooms with satisfaction. They left the rooms and met back up outside in the open area of the fourth floor, everyone looking fine except for Lexi and Abby.

"You two girls alright?" Simon said as he peeked towards them.

Lexi didn't respond, she almost seemed to jump at the boys words, but Abby crept over towards Adam and whispered in his ear, "You may want to check our room first."

"Alright, let's check it out. Is it something bad?" Adam said as he began walking for the door second from the left.

"Y-yeah, it is" Lexi said, forcing the words out of her mouth.

Adam opened the door inward and everyone walked inside.

The room was devilishly cold, the moment the door closed the temperature was making everyone hug themselves for warmth. Their eyes were focused on the walls of the room, there were several different drawer like compartments in the walls. The walls themselves were slightly frozen from the temperature but it was wiped away easily as Adam, Simon and Marco tried wiping them off the drawer.

The room was otherwise empty, there was nothing on the flooring itself, and if the drawers hadn't been here then the room would've just been a very cold one.

"So are these what you are scared of?" Simon said.

Lexi and Abby gave off a small nod and so, with caution, Adam, Simon and Marco began pulling on their own individual drawer. They pulled out easily, and were very long indeed, around 4 meters long in total, but as the drawer stopped everyone noticed what was inside immediately.

In Adam's drawer was the deceased Lisa, in Marco's was the deceased Joseph, and in Simon's was the deceased Benedict.

Lisa and Joseph looked perfectly fine if it wasn't for the fact everyone knew they were dead. Benedict on the other hand had most of his flesh missing, causing the boys to look away from the drawers while the girls continued to look down.

"This is..." Adam said, "Why is this here?"

Lexi gave off a small shrug as she forced her head to peek back up, "I, I don't know, but this seems like a morgue on the very least."

"I'm not sure a morgue is going to be helpful, let's try searching the other rooms properly alright?"

Everyone gave off their own nod and soon the room was empty with three drawers left open.

The next room they all entered was the most left door which Simon and Marco had explored a tiny bit themselves.

"It would seem this is a Control Room" Simon said as everyone noticed the room resembled the same Control Room on the second floor.

This room, compared to the other Control Room, was slightly larger in size but the room was still in the shape of a perfect square.

The controls were seated on the right side of the room from the entrance with a large screen right above it on the wall, and opposite that, just like the other Control Room, was a tall, grey locker.

Marco proceeded to grip the handle of the locker and pulled it open to reveal the inside that was practically empty except for a single bow on the top shelf and 10 arrows bundled together below that.

"A bow and some arrows?" Carlos said.

"Don't ask me, I didn't put it here" Marco said and closed the locker.

"So that's all this room has, please tell me the other rooms have something" Carlos said.

"What about your room, what was it?" Adam said.

"A lot of different rooms with desks and stationery items."

They all left the room and entered the third one Carlos had entered, the door leading into a long hallway that continue with nothing to see for a few meters, most likely because on the other side of these walls were the morgue and whatever the fourth room was, but soon enough the walls of this hallway began showing doors, and as everyone began opening the doors up they looked inside to see the same design. A small square room with a bookcase on one wall, with a desk against the doors wall. On top of the desk were different stationary items such as a couple of pencils, pens, a stapler, some glue containers and a tissue box as well.

"Is it the same in every room?" Marco said as he checked the 8th and last room.

"It would seem like it, that's disappointing" Abby said.

Adam made a soft cough as he looked at everyone while closing his door, "Actually, I believe the room I checked will show promise, it's what I believe to be a Principles Office room, it's large with lots of books and some scattered letters on his desk."

"And you choose now to tell us that?!" Carlos said, "That's got to be important!"

"Well, we were going to check all the rooms anyway so it'd come up either way."

"It doesn't matter, let's just hurry and check them out, alright?" Lexi said as she smiled towards Adam, "I should've known your room would be the important one."

Simon, Marco and Carlos let out a little grunt as they walked back up the hallway, Adam letting out a giggle as he rubbed the back of his head, "Well, I only chose it randomly, it's not really because of me."

"Well that's not a problem, the fact is you found something that might actually help, unlike these other rooms" Abby said, "Let's make sure not to fall behind the others though, come on."

Abby reached her right hand to Adam's shirt, Lexi gripping the opposite side of his shirt, and two began walking out of the hallway while Adam fought back a blush on his cheeks.

The Principles Office was, as Adam said, was larger than the rest. It had two tall and wide bookcases on the right and left walls, and a long desk in centre of the room with a comfortable chair placed behind it. Marco and Simon were going through books on the right bookcase and Carlos was going through the left bookcase, their eyes focused on the pages but they were clearly finding nothing of importance.

"What's in the books?" Adam said as he closed the door after him, the two girls going for the right bookcase themselves.

"Just records, it's about different people that came to this school and which classes they were assigned to" Simon said as he closed the book he had opened.

"This one is all the records of reports made by teachers about troubling kids, poor Timmy, he only tried hitting on his crush, with a baseball bat. Guess no one explained the term properly" Carlos said, also putting his book away.

Adam shook his head lightly and walked towards the desk in the centre of the room, looking down at the 8 different letters covering the top, everyone deciding to ignore the bookcases and come over to the desk too.

"I suppose I'll read these out, if you're all ok with that" Adam said as we picked one of the letters up, and when everyone gave him a small nod he began reading.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

'Reminder of the Tragedy'

Do you not remember the events of the Tragedy all those years ago, general? We didn't just lose lives, we lost whole nations. You know what needs to be done, and I'm sure if you don't then your boss will like I do.

If you don't do what's needed then I'll make sure someone else does instead.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"It seems that someone named Peter wrote that one" Adam said, showing the signature at the bottom of the letter to everyone before putting it down.

"So is he part of the police or something?" Abby said, "They seem high up to be calling each other general."

"I believe that could be a military title as well, the important point is that they think this is about the Tragedy as well, and it seems like whatever's going outside is really bad" Marco said.

Everyone grew silent and so Adam picked up another letter and began reading it out loud.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

'Report on new events'

Sir, the attack has grown much further than expected, Bases 1 to 5 have been destroyed within the same night. No survivors. What will happen if they plan to wipe out the main parts of the city, sir? We are no longer capable of fighting such a threat with only a third of our men existing.

You asked me to update you on where these machines go after attacking but I found no trace of them. The tracker I took so long to plant on one of them was just laying on the ground as if it just unstuck itself and fell.

You suggested to go with the worst possibility and activate the right plan in accordance to that sir, but I can't. That will involve killing millions, that's just not right.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"That one was written by a person named Slint" Adam said quietly.

"What the fuck!?" Lexi said as her face went pale, "K-Killing millions, what are they thinking?!"

"Ok, I pardon my last comment. What's going on outside is suicidal, not just bad!" Marco said.

Adam wiped his forehead lightly and put the letter down, "he mentioned bases being destroyed to, this is most likely the military, I'm guessing they've tried helping out with whatever Monokuma has been doing outside."

"So the problems aren't just in this school, that's brilliant..."Abby said, her legs falling on her and she fell to her knees.

Simon quickly went to help her up but she pushed him away, "I-I just want to sit here, ok?"

Her voice didn't seem angry, but at the same time it didn't seem like anything. It was just an empty voice, but as they grew silent Adam picked up yet another letter.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

'Not a Murderer'

I will not become the man who causes millions to die. So far the robots haven't made contact with the city, we should take that as a reason to think longer, maybe they don't plan to attack the city. If that's the case then attacking the city would result in millions of unnecessary deaths. I will not be the cause of that. Please see reason sir!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Writer is Peter, yet again" Adam said.

"So even the military can have sentimental people, that's good at least" Carlos said, "I don't see why they'd even want to kill millions just for this. It might not stop it at all."

"It's just how the military works, they get out the important people, then bombard the town. They find no reason to get everyone so as long as the rich and important are safe, they see killing millions to wipe out a threat to be successful" Marco said in a low voice.

"Sounds disgraceful, they should be ashamed!" Lexi said.

Adam decided not to comment, now wasn't the time, and so he picked up a fourth letter.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

'My Office'

I am sending someone over right now, you will go with them and never bother with this work again, goodbye general.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"That's Slint again, gosh" Adam said.

No other comment was made when Adam placed the letter down, everyone's eyes were staring at the letter in confusion and horror, trying to think of what could possibly have happened

Adam then decided to break the silence by picking up another letter.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

'Helping the military'

Are we sure we need the help of those gun carrying soldiers, sir? We've taken care of problems in this city that were possibly worse than rumors of secret inventions that could be, but most likely not, world threatening. What makes this one any different? Do we have any reason to believe this requires the Army?

We have squads and resources dedicated to all kinds of work, be it about technology or field work. Surely they'd do the work better.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"The writer is named Carmen" Adam said, placing the letter down.

"So the military are helping the police because they see this to be a dangerous situation?" Abby said, "Do the military usually help the Police?"

Marco shook his head, "They usually just take control and quarantine places, but that's usually because they try forcing a problem to fix itself. This kind of situation, if it's connected to the Tragedy, might be impossible for them."

"Especially since it seems their own bases were destroyed" Simon said.

Marco gave off a small nod and Adam picked up a 6th letter.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

'Proof of the danger'

Included is a picture sent directly to the head officer, Jerry, with a warning I shall not include. These same creations, as you may remember, caused the Tragedy those few years ago. As you say, this may very well be some kind of joke, but the Tragedy caused alot of global wounds so we must not think so lightly on this warning.

I hope you understand to never question this again.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Adam showed the picture with the letter, it showed an exact look of Monokuma but this one seemed to be non-functioning and was placed against a wall with chords plugged into its body from all angles.

"Someone named Louise wrote this" Adam said as he placed both the letter and picture down.

"There's more of him? Geez" Simon said as he rubbed his hair back in slight frustration.

"We should've expected that, he's a robot after all, making more of him could be pretty easy if the inventor knew what they were doing" Adam said, and he picked up a 7th letter.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

'New Development'

All 6 bases taken out in 2 nights, this is definitely not going well. Along with that, two of our higher offices, Carmen and Louise, are missing. We have not been able to reach them, sir. As I write this I'm heading to the remains of Base 5, in hopes I can help out. If you request help then I will make my way back with
