Hello munchkins 🙋‍♀️. Sorry there hasn't been much dance in the past few chapters. There should be maybe 2 more before it's back to the usual dance related chapters. I just don't want to have any plot holes because i jumped from Christmas till after New Year with no explanation in between 😅.

My classes have resumed after winter break so my scheduling will change a bit. I'll probably post earlier than before - before noon PST. Just an FYI :).

I hope you all have a good day today .

Mila's POV

"I'm scared," I muttered as Ajax drove through the gates of his grandparents property.

You heard that right, gates.

These people are rich rich.

"Why are you scared?" Ajax laughed, looking over at me.

It was dark now, but the driveway was lined with softly glowing lights.

"I don't know. Is there anything I should know before meeting your grandparents?"

"Ummm, they hate small talk. And they're really forward so don't be surprised if they ask you something... weird."

"Lovely," I muttered.

"My cousins daughter is a real talker, she never shuts up," he continued and I froze.

"Your cousins are here too?"

"Liebling there's a lot of people. I don't even know everyone."

"Jesus," I whispered, pinching the bridge of my nose.

"Relaaax, it's not that big of a deal."

"Not tha- you're so annoying," I sighed, crossing my arms. He simply laughed, rounding the car to open my door.

"You look stunning," he smiled, taking my hand.

"Thank you," I mumbled.

"Oh and my grandparents don't speak English that well," he added.

"Did you not think about telling me any of this earlier?" I whisper-yelled as we walked toward the big ass house.

No joke, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a private theater inside.

My heels clicked against the paved driveway as we walked up to the door.

^pic for some idea of what the house looks like

Here goes nothing.

I was blown away by the interior of the house. It looked like a hotel lobby with tall. I could see my reflection on the spotless marble floor.

Right in the front of the entrance was a giant Christmas tree with the most stunning decorations.

I was a sucker for high ceilings and this house definitely took high ceilings to another level.

"Ajax is that you?" a familiar voice called.

"Ja, ich bin's (yeah, it's me)," Ajax replied, taking my hand again and leading me to another huge hallway.

"I thought you weren't going to show up till tomorrow," Zoe joked, giving her son a hug.

"Hello Mila, looking beautiful as usual," she smiled, hugging me as well.

"Thank you," I smiled, my heart warming at how kind she was.

We followed her through large double doors into a dining room.

"Finally, the power couple," Pia giggled waving at me from her seat. I waved back at her but stood awkwardly as Ajax greeted his grandparents and aunt and uncle. It took him a few minutes to go around the long table before coming to stand beside me again.

"Everyone this is my girlfriend Mila. She's here from Canada," he introduced.

Don't blush. No turning red, nu-uh.

"Hi," I squeaked, giving a small wave.

I was surprised when everyone started talking at once.

"Woah, okay calm down," Ajax chuckled as everyone tried to ask me questions.

He led me to my seat, even pulling my chair out before taking a seat next to me.

"I told you to be on time," his grandmother scolded as the food came out.

"I'm very sorry Oma (grandma), we even left early but I had to take a detour to get gas," he lied. It was a 5 and a half hour drive from Berlin to Munich in the south of Germany.

I felt my cheeks heat when I was reminded of why we were late in the first place.

Oops.

"Your hair is very pretty!" a little girl piped up, her smile revealing a missing tooth.

"Thank you, I love your dress," I smiled, assuming this girl was the chatterbox Ajax had mentioned.

She was adorable as she grinned, clearly pleased with my compliment.

"Are you excited for Christmas?" I asked her and she nodded vigorously.

"Ja, I can't wait to open presents!" she cheered.

"Annalise, make sure you're eating too," her mother scolded, smiling at me when she caught my eye.

"I'm Hanna, Ajax's cousin," she introduced.

"Nice to meet you," I smiled, gently shaking her hand as she sat diagonally across from me.

"But Mama I don't like peas," she whined earning a stern look from Hana.

Dinner somehow managed to go by without any hiccups and the food was amazing.

"Lovely to have you here Mila," Ajax's grandmother smiled, patting my hand as we sat in the large living room. The kids sat on the floor while the adults took their place in an armchair or couch.

"Thank you for having me," I smiled, suddenly feeling shy.

"You are one talented young lady, I've seen your performances."

"Thank you, your grandson is an amazing dancer as well."

"Ehh that old grouch, I've been waiting for him to bring a lady here for a while now," she grumbled and I bit back a laugh.

"Old grouch? You wound me Oma," he sighed, pulling a chair to sit beside his grandma.

"You know you put your own Papa to shame," she scolded. Ajax shook his head, smiling when he noticed me laughing.

"So how are you liking Germany?" his grandfather (Opa in German) asked, coming to stand beside his wife.

"It's lovely here. The scenery and everything is beautiful," I replied.

"Has Ajax showed you around? That boy could learn a thing or two about chivalry," he huffed.

"Oh of course, we've done quite a bit of sight seeing," I nodded with a smile.

"Mila! Can I show you the house?" Annalise interrupted, swinging my arm from side to side.

I glanced up at his grandmother and she nodded, her eyes twinkling.

"Alright, show me around Miss Annalise," I smiled, letting her lead me away from the other guests.

-----------------------------------------

Ajax's POV

I watched as Mila leaned down to talk to Annalise as the little devil dragged her into the house.

"She's very beautiful," Oma spoke up, eyeing me carefully.

"She is," I nodded, knowing I had to choose my next words very carefully.

"How long have you two known each other?" she asked, trying to be nonchalant. But I knew she was enjoying this. Seeing me squirm.

"Almost 5 months."

"I hope you've been treating her well. I know you Ajax," she warned, narrowing her eyes at me.

"Mhm," I hummed in response, scratching the back of my neck sheepishly.

"Ajax I'm serious. That girl is carrying a deep burden of sadness in her, I can see it in her eyes. Her personality is that of the sun, but inside she's a sad soul. You must promise me you won't add to her sadness, only take from it."

I stared at her in confusion for a moment.

What are these cryptic and vague hints she's dropping?

"You two dance very beautifully together," my grandfather interrupted, taking Mila's seat beside Oma. I grinned at his compliment, feeling glad that he watched my performances.

"Ajax, promise," Oma reminded.

"Yes, promise. And thank you Opa."

"Are we talking about dance?" Pia asked, pulling a chair to form a circle.

"Yes, Mila and Ajax are the perfect pair aren't they?"

"They are," my brother nodded, smirking at me.

Lord, why is my whole family like this

"She's much better than his previous partner," Felix snorted, coming to join our little discussion.

"How do you do all those lifts?" Pia asked, "I mean, it's as if she's weightless."

"Well, it's mostly timing. Actually Mila is impeccable when it comes to timing and synchronization. She makes my job 10 times easier. Honestly she's probably the best partner I've ever had."

"Can we talk about how she fixed your flat tire," Felix chucked as I mentally facepalmed myself.

"No."

"Oh really? I had a feeling Ajax was lacking in that department," Opa grumbled, shooting me a disappointed look.

"She seems to be very well informed," he nodded. He had interrogated her on the extent of her studies as well as her knowledge on cars.

He never spared anyone.

"I like her. The real test will be to see if she knows how to play billiards," he said with a laugh making Oma roll her eyes.

"You and your billiards," she sighed, shaking her head.

"Sooo, you have a girlfriend huh?" Felix smirked, punching my shoulder lightly.

"We're such good matchmakers, aren't we?" Pia grinned, kissing his cheek.

"Sure," I rolled my eyes.

As soon as I spotted Mila returning with Annalise holding her hand, I made my way over to her. I had a feeling she didn't know how to play billiards. I also knew that my grandfather wasn't joking when he said he would ask her to play.

"Come with me," I whispered, taking her by the elbow towards the room I usually stayed in .

"Mila! Where are you going?" his voice boomed making me wince.

"Sorry," I mumbled, giving Mila a sheepish look as she gave me a questioning look.

"Come play billiards with me."

"Oh, I don't think I'd be any good," she laughed lightly.

"Don't worry, I'll teach you," he insisted, handing her the cue stick.

Fly high Mila.

"Three things: a canon, a pot, and an in-off."

"I know none of those sir," she smiled brightly.

Normally you would see my grandfather die a little on the inside at those words, but somehow he seemed to be apathetic when it came to Mila.

She winked at me as she leaned against the pool table.

What a kissup.
