March 26th, 1994. 5:23 P.M.

The weather was starting to get to me. It had already turned my cheeks a blotchy red colour, far from the sun kissed skin I've always wanted. I desperately needed to cool down from this unbearable heat. I moved under the beach umbrella, leaving Amy to sunbath. I get a fright when Steve places a cool can in my lap, I jilt up quickly at the change of temperature, "Beer?"  I sang happily.

Amy gives Steve the eyes, shaking her head slightly, "No. I don't know if she's ready to have a beer..." she said protectively. I gave Dally a look, I'm not stranger to a can of beer and we both know it. I rolled my eyes, not going  to admit it, "I'm not a baby."

"Yeah." Steve agreed, sticking his tongue out to tease Amy. "Fine. But only one." She ordered. I hated when she mothered me, but I let it go for the sake of having a good time. I pop open the can, and draw it back, gulping the entire thing down in 30 seconds. Amy looked at me shocked, I raised my eyebrows at her.

She forgets about it when Steve yells out to her, "Do you need any lotion baby?" he calls from near the car. She says yes. He eagerly went to the car. For some reason, he loved making Amy's life better... maybe that's what love is. I honestly couldn't bare listening to them any longer, jealousy was eating away at me.

Steve yanks on the door handle hard, straining his forearm in the process. It refused to open, he re adjust his feet on the ground and tried again, this time with both hands. Dally jogs over and checks all three of the other doors, "Babe?"

He points weakly to the doors. Gripping the handle again and pulling on it hard. As he did, Dally peered through the glass, his eyes fall on the keys that were locked inside the car, "You idiot." he coughed, "The keys are locked in there."

"Sht." Steve swears, running a hand through his hair. His face pushes against the window, and it fell still. He takes his hand off the car, "Oh. Sht. What do we do now?" Amy appears next to them. "Someone has to go get help."

"Fine. Dally let me take your car." Steve says. "Err" Dally winced. Steve was confused, "What?" I had to explain, "He doesn't like anyone driving his prized possession, got it?" Steve sighed, "Fine. Dallas and Amy go."

"Okay. We will be back soon. Behave yourselves." She chuckles, before getting to the passenger seat. Dally looks back as he drives out of the car park, wary to leave me all alone with Steve for god knows how long. I return to the umbrella and collapse onto the sand under it exhausted. Steve watches them go out of view before making his way back to me.

He slips another can out of the pack, and hands it over. "Thanks."  I coughed; a strange feeling welled up in my throat. I swallow hard, trying not to die. It must've been nerves being all alone with him. Out of nowhere he says, "I want to see you more."

"Yes." I nod fast, trying not to blush obvious, "I would love that." all I wanted to do was run across the sand, doing cartwheels. I was so happy he said that. I leaned my head on his shoulder, we looked out over the ocean which rippled beneath the rich fading sunset.

"You know. This is my favourite part of the day." he says, pointing out at the vibrant colours meshing in the sky, "I like the way the horizon hits the ocean." he shifts closer to me, draping an arm around my shoulder.

All of a sudden his salty lips are pressed against mine. I go along with it, kissing him with open mouth. I lay down as he drapes his body over mine.  Although I felt guilty for Amy,  we sprawled out in each others arm, with my feet half hidden in the sand. I had full intentions to go even further, but the guilt eroded my stomach. I pushed his shoulders back off of me, but he pushes me back down.

I shut my eyes as our tongues moved together. I drawled away with a nervous shiver, he stops what he's doing and moves away from me, "Sorry." he shakes his head, having second thoughts. I'm in complete shock, "Did I do something wrong?" I asked, wondering if he will hate me. "No. It's just. I don't know." luckily Dally's car rolled back around to save me from this embarrassment. Steve races over to Amy thankful she was back. I felt my stomach drop completely.
