  March 26th, 1994. 12:39 P.M.

This year had been an unusually warm autumn, so bad that we desperately needed a new cooling system. Our house was pretty old, and so it had been down all summer long. The only real way to cool down was by an ice block or to surrender to the heat.

I didn't have much to do today, so I decided to throw on a bathing suit and head out back. When outside, I flattened the towel on the grass and sat down to find a comfortable position.

I pushed myself up, moving spots about half a dozen times before settling down at one across the other side of the yard. I glazed up at the house, blocking the sun from my eyes. I noticed something rather interesting, Amy's bedroom window was a clear view from down here.

I placed the hand radio besides me and tuned the stations until I found a decent song. Secretly I hoped Steve would stick his head out the window, maybe even trail his eyes along my sunbathed skin in his bikini.

Dally turned the corner of my backyard, almost giving me a fright, I sat up quickly, "Where the hell have you been?" he said irritated, marching over to where I was. He must've used his gate key to get in.

I rolled my shoulders, laying back down on the towel. His shadow lingered over my body, it had been three days since I had seen him at the fast food restaurant and three days since I found out he had been lying to me. "Hello? Are you going to answer me?"

"You've been lying to me. What do you expect me to say?" I replied coolly, shading the sun from my face as he moved next to me. He laid on his back next to me, looking up at the sky above our heads, "My job?"

I shifted my body up to see him better, "I saw you... at the fast food joint. Why didn't you tell me?" he shrugged, beginning to adjust his belt around his pelvis, "Maybe I didn't want you to think badly of me."

I was about to respond when my vision was caught back to the window as I see a dark figure moving around inside. I pretend not to be staring, "I- I..." but I couldn't help the trailing off my words. Steve unlatches the window and pulls it above his head for fresh air. Dally picks harshly at the grass next to him, "You have to stop this obsession." he narrows his eyes to Steve, "He's a jerk."

I wasn't paying much attention to him, more too Steve than anything else. He titled his head down to see us looking up at him, he waved before moving away from the window. I thought that was it, but he came downstairs and out onto the porch, "You want to join us at the beach? He can come too" he cupped two hands around his mouth and shouted out, "Sure!" I yelled back happily, elbowing a grumpy Dallas next to me.
