I looked to Rob when the phone rang. "Rob," he said and listened to whoever was on the other end. "He's awake? Stable? Good. Keep me updated on his progress." Rob slammed the phone down and I raised my eyebrows.

"Who was that?"

"Medical," Rob said and I paused the video of a debrief on the laptop. "Hampson is awake and is stable."

"Oh," I said. "Good. Speaking of Hampson, why the hell was he shot in the first place?"

"The mission went wrong."

"Yeah, no shit," I scoffed and ignored Rob's stern look. "How?"

Rob gritted his teeth and sighed. "There's a criminal organisation that is set on taking us down. Somehow they found out about the mission and sabotaged it."

"What the hell? That's impossible. We're a secret. Invisible. No one knows about us," I frowned.

"They do," Rob scowled. "We've taken out a lot of their assets and they aren't happy."

"We have a leak," I said. "That's the only explanation for information getting out."

Rob shook his head. "They hacked into one of our servers. They only managed to access one file, Hampson and Jack's mission. We have the best working on defence systems. They won't get in again."

"They hacked the Agency?" I gasped. "Shit, they're good."

"Not helping, Daisy," Robbed snapped.

"It's my job to be annoying," I shrugged. "So what are you going to do?"

"Whatever I do I won't discuss it with you," Rob said and pointed to the laptop on my lap. "Work."

"I'm bored."

"This is a punishment, it's not meant to be fun," Rob said dismissively. "I'm going to be having interviews with the new recruits soon. If you make any inappropriate comments or act like... Yourself, then I will not be happy."

"When are you ever happy?" I asked.

"Keep quiet or I'll gag you," Rob warned.

"Lovely," I sighed and stared at the laptop screen, hitting the space bar so the video would play.

There was a knock at the door and I looked up when Joey walked in.

"Joseph," Rob greeted and gestured to the seat opposite his desk. "Take a seat."

Joey watched me curiously as he sat down and his eyes went to the handcuffs round my wrists.

"Ignore, Daisy," Rob said and I narrowed my eyes at him. "Joseph, I'm am Rob. I'm in charge here."

"Daisy's father," Joey nodded.

"Adopted," I coughed and Rob raised his eyebrows warningly at me.

"Yes, she's my daughter," Rob nodded. "Joseph, this is about you, not us. Tell me, how are you feeling?"

I sighed softly and shook my head, turning my attention back to the laptop. After Joey was interviewed a random guy came in next, he seemed highly confident and too cocky.

"Ass," I coughed when he walked out and Rob raised his eyebrows at me.

"He's just confident," Rob said.

"He's too confident."

"You were too confident when you first started training," Rob noted.

"Ah, but really you had been training me since the second I was able to hold a gun. I had a good reason to be confident," I shrugged. "I was better than everyone I was training with."

"Not Eli."

"Technically I wasn't training with him, just at the same time," I snapped.

"You really don't like the kid," Rob said.

"How did you guess?"

"You don't like many people," Rob said.

I shrugged and next Noah walked in. He seemed slightly shaken up, but he was calm.

"Noah, sit," Rob ordered and repeated the same questions that he had done for the last two people. I turned my attention to the laptop where I was watching a video of Beth debrief on a mission she went on.

Typing up debriefs was fucking annoying. You had to pause the video after every sentence and then type it down in a word document, go back to the video, listen to another sentence, type that down and so on.

Boring was an understatement.

"Thank you, Noah," Rob said after a half an hour interview. "When all the interviews have finished you will be told what is going to happen next, for now go back to medical to get your tracker implant."

I frowned and looked at Rob when Noah walked out. "Tracker?"

"New rule, all agents will now have trackers," Rob said. "We thought that after one of our best went rogue that really we can't trust anyone. Over the next few months every agent will be administered a tracker."

"I didn't go rogue," I muttered and looked at my wrist where the undetectable tracker was.

"You did," Rob snapped. "Now carry on with the debriefs."

I rolled my eyes and looked back to the laptop as another new recruit walked in, followed by another, then another, then another, then another, then another, then anoth-

"Jheeze, how many people have you recruited?" I wondered. "There's a lot."

"20," Rob shrugged. "I'm not expecting all of them to make it. The last recruits were awful so I've not got high hopes."

"How many have you interviewed?" I asked.

"19, there's only one more."

"There's a distinct lack of girls,"
I said, raising my eyebrows accusingly.

"Don't turn all feminist on me," Rob muttered and rolled his eyes. "You hate most girls."

"So?"

Rob looked down at the forms on his desk. "The next recruit is a girl. Happy?"

"Partially," I shrugged and the said girl walked into Rob's office. My face went blank when I saw her and I looked at Rob. "I've changed my mind, I'm not happy at all."

"You!" Emma gasped and I raised my eyebrows at her. "You've been recruited!"

"Emma, sit," Rob ordered.

"Please don't say you're being serious!" I exclaimed, looking at Rob with wide eyes. "She can't handle this! I'm pretty sure she's squeamish of her own period blood!"

"Daisy!" Rob scolded. "Shut up."

"Get her out and I will."

"Who do you think you are?" Emma snapped. "I'm so much better than you will ever be!"

I slammed the laptop shut and shoved it onto the desk. "I'd watch your mouth if I were you."

"What are you going to do?" Emma sneered. "Kill me?"

"Probably," Rob and I said together and I yanked against the handcuffs.

"Rob, let me leave. I'm not sitting here listening to her tripe!" I growled.

"Daisy, shut up and get back to work."

"No."

"Daisy, I'm not going to say this again!" Rob snapped. "Shut the hell up, sit still and do your work or I'll have you transferred into a different team!"

"You won't do that," I scoffed.

"I know how much you dislike new people," Rob warned. "I can make your life hell."

"And it isn't already? I'm being forced to stay here after I tried to run away, I don't see how my life is great," I snapped.

Rob shrugged his shoulders and picked up his phone. "Hello, I would like to set in motion a transfer," Rob said into the phone and I narrowed my eyes at him. "Yes, transfer an agent into a new team. Which teams have an opening?" Rob was silent for a moment before smirking at me. "Adam's team? Fantastic. The agent I would like to transfer is D-"

"Okay!" I exclaimed. "Fuck, okay! You win. I'll shut the hell up so you can interview the she-monster!"

"Change of plans, Benjamin," Rob said. "The transfer won't be needed now. Thank you." Rob hung up and looked at the laptop. "Open it," he ordered and I sighed angrily and grabbed the laptop, ripping it open and putting the headphones on. "Work," Rob snapped and I narrowed my eyes, but reopened the video and Microsoft Word.

"What is she doing here?" I heard Emma ask.

"Emma, may I ask what your problem with Daisy is?" Rob asked.

"She's a bitch," Emma shrugged. "A mental one."

"Well, Emma, let me introduce myself; I am Rob and I am in charge here at the Agency. Adam who you know from being a teacher at your school is my son, and Daisy is my daughter."

Emma's mouth dropped and she looked at me in shock. "W-what!"

"You two don't have to get along, but you will be civil to each other. If you are not then I have no problem putting a bullet through your head. Am I clear?"

"What if she isn't civil? You'll shoot your own daughter?"

"Death would be a mercy for Daisy," Rob shrugged. "I wouldn't give her the easy way out."

"Lovely," I murmured and Rob reached over and pressed play on the laptop, the sound of Beth's voice drowning out his and Emma's conversation.

"You look happy," Blake called when I walked into the house in the evening.

"I'm not in the mood," I snapped.

"When are you ever?" Jack said cheekily and I flipped him off.

"I'll punch you, so don't push me," I warned and walked through the living room and upstairs to my room. I searched through my draws until I found my cigarettes and a lighter and then I made my way back downstairs and out the front door. I raised my eyebrows in surprise when I saw Eli outside, smoking a cigarette. He glanced at me and then looked away, focusing on blowing out circles of smoke.

I ignored him and leaned back against the house, taking a cigarette out of the packet and placing it in my mouth. "Fucksake," I muttered and glared at the lighter when it wouldn't light. "Stupid piece of shit." I threw the lighter on the ground and headed for the front door, but Eli grabbed my arm and held me still. He took his lighter out of his pocket and lit the cigarette that was in my mouth. "Thanks," I muttered and retreated back to my spot leaning against the wall.

"Rough day?" Eli wondered.

"It was great," I grumbled and took a deep breath in. I sighed in content and slowly blew a large cloud of smoke out. The silence between us was deafening as we both smoked in silence.

I frowned when a car I didn't recognise pulled up in front of the house and Adam got out of the car, followed by Joey, Noah, cocky interview guy and Emma.

"You've got to be kidding me," I growled and quickly hit the cigarette behind my back as Adam walked over to Eli and me. "What are you doing here?" I demanded.

Adam just raised his eyebrows and held his hand out.

"What?" I asked innocently.

"Give," he ordered.

"I don't know what you're talking about?" I said with a sweet smile and Adam scoffed.

"Yeah right," he said and quickly reached behind me and grabbed my wrist, twisting it painfully so my cigarette fell out of my hands.

"Jesus!" I gasped and pushed Adam away from me. "Fine, you caught me."

"Give," Adam repeated and I scowled, handing him the cigarette packet.

"Happy?" I said sarcastically.

"Always," he said and rolled his eyes. "You've got new housemates."

"What?" Eli and I both said.

"New houses are currently in renovation so all the new recruits have to crash with agents for the moment," Adam explained and I looked to Emma with narrowed eyes.

"She's not stepping foot in my house," I scowled.

"Yes she is."

"There's already ten of us living here, can't they stay somewhere else?" Eli said.

"Did I ask for your opinion, Eli?" Adam snapped. "Rob's orders, not mine. They're staying here and that's final. You've got one of the biggest houses out of everyone, I'm sure you can deal with four more people."

"Not her," I snapped.

"You think I want to live with you?" Emma retorted.

"Daisy," Adam said sternly. "Be nice."

I smiled and raised my middle finger at Adam. "That's impossible."

Joey snickered quietly and he quickly coughed to try and cover it up and I smirked.

"Well I've got my own shit to deal with," Adam said and glared at Joey as he turned round and walked off. I turned to Eli and snatched the cigarette from his hands and then walked inside.

"No smoking inside!" Mason yelled when I walked into the lounge.

"I will put this out on you!" I warned and collapsed on the sofa next to Blake as Eli entered follow by the three guys and the bitch.

"Ooh hello," Mason smiled, his eyes trailing up and down Emma.

I grabbed a pillow from the sofa and lobbed it at his head.

"Ow! What was that for, you cow!" Mason exclaimed and Blake chuckled.

"Eli, what's with the people?" Blake asked as he took my cigarette- well Eli's- from me and placed it between his lips.

"Adam just dropped them off," Ei shrugged and sat down next to Carter and Tom. "Apparently they're staying with us."

"More people!" Jack whined.

"No offence," Oli added, smiling politely at the four newcomers.

"I was just getting used to you idiots," I muttered and Carter grinned.

"You love us," he said smugly.

"So how's this going to work?" Erik wondered.

"Most of us have double beds, we're going to have to share rooms," Blake said.

"I am not sharing with Oli!" Mason yelled. "His farts nearly suffocated me last time!"

"How about we introduce ourselves first?" Oli suggested.

"And I don't mind sharing with Oli," Erik offered. "I'll just suffocate him if he farts too much."

Oli laughed and playfully shoved Erik.

"Alright, Joey, Noah you already know us," Blake spoke up. "But who are you two?"

Emma shifted uncomfortably on her feet when everyone looked at her and I smirked. Looks like the queen bitch was in a new kingdom and she was going to struggle.

Good.

"Don't be shy, babe," Mason said charmingly and the rest of us rolled our eyes.

"Mason, you might actually be in luck," I shrugged. "She's a slut."

Emma gasped and glared at me. "You whore!"

"Look at yourself," I smiled and Blake slapped his hands over my mouth.

Eli smirked at my comment.

"Excuse Daisy, she's a bitch," Blake said sweetly and I elbowed him in the ribs. "What's your name?"

"Emma," Emma said.

"Lovely to meet you, Emma," Mason smiled.

"And you?" Blake wondered, looking at the dark haired guy that still seemed to confident for his own good.

"Dante," he said.

"Well, welcome I guess. I'm Blake, this is Daisy," Blake introduced himself and me.

"Ignore whatever she says, it's what we do," Jack grinned and I glared at him.

"She's harmless," Blake added and Tom scoffed.

"Only to you and Eli," Tom said. "I'd rather not take my chances with her."

Eli smirked at me when Tom said this.

"That's Tom," Blake said. "Next to him is Carter and then Eli." Tom and Carter both waved, but Eli just stared. "The guy with his arm in a bandage is Jack."

"The idiot got shot," Mason explained.

"Fuck off, it was sabotaged!" Jack snapped.

"That's Mason," Blake pointed to Mason. "And finally Oli and Erik."

"It's going to take a while to remember all those names," Joey said sheepishly and Blake laughed.

"Don't worry about it," Blake said. "Right, room situation. Erik, you'll crash with Oli, yeah?"

Erik and Oli nodded. "Yep. So that frees up my room," Erik said.

"Joey, Noah, you two know each other, so you can take Erik's room," Blake said and Joey and Noah both looked at each other uneasily, but nodded.

"Daisy can stay in my room-"

"Of course," Mason scoffed and Blake rolled his eyes.

"So Emma can have Daisy's room to herself-"

"No!" I yelled and yanked Blake's hand away from my mouth. "Not happening! I'd rather Eli stay in my room! Not her!"

"Do you two know each other?" Carter wondered, scrunching his eyebrows up in confusion.

"Sadly," I growled.

"Daisy, it's just a room-"

"She can sleep outside for all I care," I shrugged. "She's not staying in my room."

"Fine, Eli you'll stay in Daisy's room and Emma will take your room," Blake suggested and I pursed my lips, but nodded.

"I'll crash with Jack," Mason said.

"What if I don't want to crash with you?" Jack said.

"And Dante can have Mason's room," Blake said and nodded. "All sorted."

"Someone's going to have to tell me that again, it's gone straight in one ear and out the other," Carter admitted and I chuckled.

"Well guys, sit down," Oli smiled. "Make yourself comfy."

"Come on, Emma," Mason said and wiggled his eyebrows, patting the space next to him.

"You're a nightmare," I muttered and shook my head at Mason.

"We're going to need another sofa," Oli noted and both him and Erik moved to the floor to make some space. Joey looked at the space next to me, but before he could sit down Dante sat there.

"Sit down, Joey," I said and moved so I was sitting in Blake's lap. Joey looked at the two of us uneasily, but nodded and sat down.

"You need to start training again," Blake muttered. "You're getting heavy."

"Oh shut up," I muttered. "Rob said I start tomorrow."

"Good, you can shift a few pounds," he smirked and I narrowed my eyes at him.

"Let's order pizza," Carter suggested.

"And I suggest Daisy pays," Mason grinned.

"What! No! Why me?"

"You missed out on buying a lot of pizza when you ran away," Mason smirked. "You're still owing us back."

"But pizza is expensive!" I whined.

"I'm sure your bank account can handle a little dent," Jack said and raised his eyebrows at me. "Rob isn't exactly poor is he?"

"That doesn't matter!"

"Wait, Rob?" Dante said and looked to me. "You're the girl that was in his office earlier. Handcuffed to the chair?"

"You what?" Blake wondered and laughed. "He handcuffed you to the chair?"

"Shut your mouth," I warned. "Yes that was me."

"Why?"

"She can't get kicked out of the Agency so daddy has to think of different ways to punish her," Eli said and rolled his eyes.

"He's your father!" Dante gasped.

"Adopted," I shrugged.

"He's your dad, Dais," Oli said with a laugh. "He's raised you since you were 5."

"Order the pizza, I don't care," I sighed and stood up. "I'm going for a shower." I walked towards the stairs, but Blake grabbed me and span me round.

"What's wrong?" He asked quietly.

"Nothing," I muttered and turned around, but Blake yanked me back.

"Daisy," he said sternly. "Tell me."

"I just want some alone time," I mumbled. "In case you forgot, I don't do well with lots of people. I just need some space alone with my thoughts."

"Something else is up," Blake frowned.

"I'm fine-"

"Don't even try to lie to me," Blake warned.

"I'm miserable," I snapped, cautiously looking over his shoulder to see if any of the guys had heard me. I stiffened when I saw Eli staring right at me. "Is that what you want to hear? I fucking hate being here. I have no control over what I do. If Rob tells me to jump I jump, if he tells me to walk off a fucking cliff I'll have to do it! I'm sick of it! Leave me alone, I'm not in the mood for anyone right now." I shoved Blake away from me and made my way up the stairs.

The only way I'd get real freedom would be if I accepted being back at the Agency.

If I accepted to kill.

I could kill without a problem, but that was what worried me.

I should care about taking someone's life.

But I didn't.
