"What?" I demanded and looked at Rob in shock. "A mission?"

"Yes," he snapped. "It's nothing serious, just a recruiting mission. It seems that the new batch of recruits aren't making the grade so we need some fresh meat."

"Hold up," I interrupted. "You want the girl who ran away from the assassin agency to go on a mission to recruit people for the assassin agency?" I said and laughed. "Rob, I thought you were smart."

Eli cracked a smile at my blatant disrespect for my father, but he hid is as soon as his mouth twitched.

"Besides, I thought I wasn't cleared for missions."

"You're cleared for this one," Rob said. "It's simple. You two will attend a local high school and surveil possible recruits. You will befriend them, find out about them and see if they fit the ideal candidate. If they do you will pass their details onto your SO and we will look into them further." Rob looked at me. "I'm pretty sure even you can mange that."

I thought about it and smirked. It would give me an excuse to get out of the shitty house, I wouldn't actually have to pay attention at school and I could just ignore the mission completely.

"SO?" I questioned. "Who's the Supervising Officer?"

Rob smiled. "You'll love this," he smirked. "Your brother is back in town."

*

The doorbell rang and I sat up on my bed. "Ignore it!" I yelled.

"Ignore Daisy!" I heard Blake call. "Answer the door!"

"You really don't have too!" I shouted.

"Daisy, it's for you so get your ass downstairs!" Blake yelled and I sighed, swinging my feet off my bed and standing up.

I slowly made my way downstairs and into the lounge where I heard yelling. I spotted the dark hair immediately and smirked when I saw Adam bundling Eli into the wall. They were both glaring angrily at each other. Eli roughly shoved Adam away from him and they threw abuse at each other.

"Looks like the dislike runs in the family," I called and both Adam and Eli turned to me.

"Family?" Eli repeated. "He's your brother!"

"Sadly," I muttered.

"Don't look to pleased," Adam sarcastically and he shoved Eli once more before stepping back.

"What's up, Adam," Blake greeted my brother and they hugged in a way that was meant to be manly, but it really wasn't.

"Hey, man," Adam nodded. "Can somebody tell me why this prick is at your house?" He jabbed a finger in Eli's direction and Tom grabbed Eli's arm, stopping him from charging at my brother.

"Your dad put our teams together," Blake explained. "You don't get along?"

Adam pursed his lips. "Not exactly, but I'm not here for that twat. I'm here for Daisy."

"Yay," I murmured and Adam walked over to me. He hit the back of my head when he reached me and I scowled angrily. "What the hell!"

"That's for being a stupid bitch and running away!" He snapped. "I got back from a mission only yesterday and I find out that you took someone hostage-"

"It wasn't even a big deal," I shrugged and Adam glared at me.

Even though we both had no blood ties to Rob and were both adopted, he resembled our father a lot more than I did. He had brown hair that was messily pushed back, Rob's dark eyes and his strong build. I was the complete opposite being a petite, silver haired, green eyed, pale girl.

"I can't believe he picked your for a mission, even one as mundane as this," Adam muttered and shoved a folder into my hands. "Read it, learn it, memorise it," he ordered, his coldness reminding of Rob. "This may be a piss mission, but your cover still has to be flawless."

"As you wish," I sighed and opened the folder, taking out the first piece of paper. "Daisy Morgan," I read outloud. "18 years old, lives with older brother and friends, mum died when she was young, dad in prison-" I arched an eyebrow at Adam. "This is some morbid shit. And 'lives with brother', you are not moving in are you?"

For the first time ever Eli and I didn't direct a glare towards each other, but instead to Adam.

"For the purpose of the mission I have no ties to you whatsoever. If anyone asks any questions Blake is your brother. He's over 18 so that would make him your legal guardian."

"Right," I nodded and nearly cried in relief that Adam would not be staying here. "So what's your job?"

"PE teacher," Adam shrugged. At 22 Adam was slightly young to be a teacher, but he could easily pass as a few years older.

"What about him?" I said bitterly, pointing to Eli.

Adam reached into the folder in my hands and pulled out a stack of papers. He looked at Eli and then dropped the papers onto the floor. I smirked when Eli's face grew red with anger and Adam kicked the papers towards him. "Read them, learn and memorise," Adam said sternly and looked at me. "If you give me any grief during this mission, Daisy, I will seriously murder you. Your childish antics bore me."

"Childish?" I repeated. "Excuse me, you stuck up, ass licking-"

"Don't get expelled," Adam sighed and turned on his heel. He was out of the house in seconds and I glared into thin air.

"He seems delightful," Carter commented and I rolled my eyes.

"Don't even go there," I groaned and walked back upstairs to my room.

*

"If you're not ready in 10 minutes I will leave without you!" Eli called, barging into my room while I was only dressed in underwear.

It was cute lacy underwear that would be great to flaunt if it were anyone other than Eli.

"You have two seconds to turn around or I will pour bleach into your eyes!" I warned and I glared as Eli's eyes quickly glanced me over before he span round.

"Be ready!" He said and walked off before I could throw my hair drier at his head.

"Shut the freaking door behind you!" I yelled after him and shut the door with my foot. I sighed and grabbed a clean bandage off my desk and started to wrap up my thigh.

The stab wound had been healing well, until Blake pissed me off. We had a minor fight which ended as soon as I was shoved into the corner of the kitchen table and my stitches reopened.

It was not pretty and we realised that for an assassin Erik didn't deal with blood as well as he should, considering his job was to kill people.

I changed into a pair of shorts and a loose black backless vest top. I pulled on my combat boots and ran my fingers through my long hair. I glanced in the mirror and smirked.

I looked hot and I didn't even care that I was being vain.

My shorts and top even showed off my tattoo that started at the top of my thigh and ran up my side, splaying out onto my ribs and curving slightly towards my back.

Rob freaked when I had my first tattoo so I annoyed him further by expanding it.

Blake's tattoo was also on show. Starting at the base of my neck it extended downwards for about 3 inches. The boys and I were playing truth or dare a while back and I was dared to let Blake tattoo me. I expected him to tattoo a dick or something rude, but he surprised me by tattooing a delicate design of swirls that looked highly professional.

Rob didn't know about this, he probably would have shot Blake if he found out that he was the one that gave me the tattoo.

I scowled at my reflection when I realised I still had a faint bruise round my eye and my lip was still cut from where Eli punched me during the fight over my sandwich.

If anyone asked how I got them I doubt they would believe me if I told them I had walked into a door or fallen over, which had to be the most common lies told when it came to bruises and cuts.

I grabbed my phone off my desk and stuffed it into my back pocket. I picked my bag up off the floor and then made my way downstairs, trying to disguise my limp as much as possible.

I wouldn't admit it to Blake, but his bloody stab wound fucking hurt.

I was surprised to find so many people awake at this hour and Blake grinned smugly at me when I entered the kitchen and poured myself some coffee. "Is Daisy all ready to go to school?" He said in the most patronising voice I had ever heard.

"Is Blake all ready to get his face punched in?" I retorted and Blake smirked.

"Your counselling has been changed to once a week," Blake told me and I made a noise that resembled a disgusted grunt as I drank my coffee. "Every Wednesday. Eli has to be at the Agency every other Wednesday so he'll drive you every other week to make your session at 4pm. The week when he isn't going to the Agency you'll have to get the bus straight from school."

I hated that I couldn't drive to school, Rob had confiscated my car. I had to survive rides with Eli. I didn't understand why Rob had chosen Eli for this recruiting mission. At 19 he was too old to even go to school.

"The gates to the Agency is 3k from the nearest bus stop! And the drive after the gates is easily another 5k!" I exclaimed.

"It's a good thing James is flexible and can move your session to 5pm to give you enough time to walk it when you get the bus. When your leg is healed you'll run it easily," Blake smirked and I scowled at him. "And we'll know if you skip the sessions." He looked at my wrist and I sighed loudly.

"Daisy, I'm leaving so if you want a ride you better stop flirting with your boyfriend and fucking move!" Eli yelled and Blake smirked at his comment. I however scowled and put my coffee on the side before walking out of the kitchen and following Eli to his car.

I slammed his car door with unnecessary force and Eli glared at me when he sat in the drivers seat. "Watch it or I'll smash your head in with that force," he growled and started the car.

"Please, my grandma can hit harder than you," I scoffed.

"Nice lip," was all he said and I narrowed my eyes at him. He had a small cut above his eyebrow where I had caught him with one of my rings, but other than that he came out of our fight with no injuries.

There was a school in the centre of town and it took about half an hour to reach the old looking miserable building. An awkward half an hour car drive with Eli. The silence was broken only a few times when one of us snapped at the other.

As soon as the car was parked I exited it as soon as I could and slammed the car door forcefully again. I caught Eli's glare through the window but I ignored him and walked towards the schools building.

The town we lived in wasn't overly large, but it still had plenty of people. I got a few curious stares as I walked into the school, but that was to be expected.

I headed straight for reception and hoped I could get sorted before Eli turned up.

The receptionist was a lovely old girl who gave me my timetable, locker combination and a map of the school. She wished me luck as I left the reception just as Eli walked in.

We shared glares and barged shoulders but no words were exchanged.

It felt weird being at a school again. I had attended public school until I was 16. I dropped out and studied at the Agency instead. It had been two years, but it seemed time and location didn't seem to change high schools that much.

As I walked down the corridor I clocked the stereotypical cliche groups and felt like I was in mean girls.

"Omg!"

Before I could think about the fact that someone had actually said 'omg' three girls appeared in front of me and stopped me from walking any further.

"Your hair is totes amazing," one girl said as I took in her fake tan, fake eyelashes and super big tits. "Are you new? You look new. You should totally hang out with us." The girl who didn't seem to have a filter flipped her brown hair over her shoulder. "We own the school, no one messes with us. You either get on our good side or we ruin you."

I took a few moments before speaking to see if this girl was being serious or not. I half expected her to burst out laughing.

She didn't.

"Look..." I waited for the girl to tell me her name and finally got the hint and informed me that it was Emma. "Look, Emma, you seem like such a lovely girl-"

Lie.

"-But I'd like to make my own friends, not have them forced upon me. Thanks for the compliment though," I said and walked off before she could stop me.

I looked down at my timetable and scowled when I saw I had chemistry first. I had no idea where the room was.

If I was in a different country in the middle of the night and stranded alone, give me a basic map and I would be able to navigate my way to civilisation. I was extremely skilled in map reading and navigation, the school map however was indecipherable.

"You're going to have a target on your back now." A cute looking guy appeared next to me and smiled kindly. He ran his fingers through his fluffy brown hair and I raised my eyebrows at him questioningly. "Emma," he explained. "Never have I seen her been turned away."

"And why's that?" I wondered.

"Because she's a psychopath and no one wants to cross her," the guy shrugged and I laughed.

"Trust me, a girl like her is the least of my worries," I said.

"Just warning you, she's not nice when she decides she doesn't like someone," the guy said.

"Thanks for the heads up," I nodded. "I can handle myself though."

"The bruised face really helps me to believe you," the guy said with a laugh and I rolled my eyes. "What happened?"

"Fell over," I lied and the guy scoffed, not believing me at all.

"You don't have to tell me," he shrugged, "but I don't believe you."

I chuckled and shook my head. "I'm Daisy."

"Joey," the guy smiled. "First day here?"

"That easy to guess, huh?" I wondered.

"Not really, but you're walking in the complete opposite direction to your first class," Joey chuckled and looked at my timetable in my hands.

"I think the school have given me a map for a different school," I said and Joey grinned.

"I've got the same class as you, follow me," he said and turned around and started to head in the wrong direction.

"So you were walking the wrong way with me knowing that your class was in the opposite direction?" I said and Joey nodded.

"Yep. I thought you deserved the a warning about Emma," he smiled.

"Well thanks."

"So, why are you starting school here?" Joey wondered. "Where you from?"

"I've lived in town my whole life. I used to go to another school but I've been homeschooled since I was 16," I said, spurting out lies to this new guy.

"Homeschooled?" Joey wondered.

"Yep. My dad was arrested and my mum isn't around anymore and it all got too much for me to handle. My brother pulled me from school and homeschooled me," I said and Joey nodded.

"Sorry to hear about your folks," Joey said sadly. "I know how it feels not having anyone."

"How so?"

"Mine never liked me. They did a runner and left me to fend for myself."

"Jesus!" I gasped. "What bastards."

"I'm glad to be rid of them," Joey shrugged. "I've got a job, I cope fine on my own."

"You got any other family?" I wondered.

"Nope."

"So you live by yourself?"

Joey nodded.

"God, I would kill for that sometimes," I groaned and Joey chuckled.

"Lots of siblings?" He wondered.

"No, lots of annoying friends of my brother," I grumbled and Joey laughed.

"This is the room," he said as we reached a door that led into a science lab. "I'm on my own so you can share lab desks with me?"

"That'd be great," I nodded and we made our way into the half full classroom. I got a few looks, but I ignored them as I followed Joey and sat next to him.

The class filled up slowly and the teacher finally arrived. He sat as his desk and his eyes scanned the classroom before landing on me. "Class, we have a new student today," he said and I groaned when every turned to me. "Would you like to stand up and introduce yourself?"

"Not really," I said lowly and Joey chuckled as I stood up. "I'm Daisy and I-"

The door swung open cutting me off and I rolled my eyes when Eli walked in.

"Sorry, this school map is a pile of shit," he grumbled and looked at the teacher. "I'm new."

I quickly sat back down and smirked when the teacher scowled at Eli. "I will not tolerate foul language in this class, young man," he said sternly. "What is your name?"

"Eli," Eli said, not fazed by the teacher. I glanced round the classroom and saw the majority of the girls smirking and whispering to each other and looking at Eli dreamily.

"Eli, I will let you off because you are new but don't let it happen again," the teacher said. "Take a seat please."

Eli stuffed his hands into his pockets and made his way down the classroom. He glared as he passed me and I glared back.

"What the hell was that?" Joey said quietly as the teacher started to talk. "Who does he think he is coming in here and glaring at you for no reason?"

"An asshole," I muttered. "He's a bastard and I hate him."

"Wait, you know him?"

"He's a friend of my brother," I grumbled. "Total twat."

"Looks like one," Joey grinned and I chuckled.

"You know what,Joey," I said and smirked at Joey. "I like you."

I walked out of school at the end of the day and sighed when I was stopped by Emma and her cronies.

"Can I help you?"

"Who do you think you are, bitch?" She snapped and I raised an eyebrow at her.

"Um-"

"You rock up here acting like you run the place. You turn us down! Us!" She screeched.

"Bloody hell," I muttered and shook my head. "Emma, I've spoken to you once today, I've seen you once today. Please don't make stupid accusations."

"Are you calling me stupid?" Emma gasped and I rolled my eyes.

"Did I say that?" I questioned and shook my head. "I've got to go, so bye." I went to walk past her but I saw her hand rise out of the corner of my eye.

What the hell crawled up this girls ass and died?

I grabbed her wrist as her hand came flying towards me and glared at her. "You were going to slap me?" I said slowly. "Fucking slap me? Are you insane! What the hell have I done to you, you mental bitch!"

"Get off me, slut!" Emma cried and crawled at my hand with her fake nails.

I dropped Emma's wrist. "You better stay away from me," I warned. "Or I might do something I won't regret."

"I can made your life a misery!" Emma threatened. "Your sorry existence will-"

"I'm starting to lose my temper with you," I growled.

"I own this school-"

"I could care less if you're the fucking Queen of China!" I exclaimed and I was aware that we had an audience. "I done fuck all to you, you started this, you've brought any repercussions from this on yourself. I'm giving you a warning, stay away from me."

I came to the conclusion that Emma really was stupid as she raised her hand again. This time I twisted her arm up behind her back and she yelled out painfully. Her screech made my ears hurt.

"Daisy!"

His voice made me more angry, but I let him rip me away from Emma and hold me back.

"What the fuck is wrong with you!" Eli hissed into my ear. "Can you go anywhere without starting a fight?"

"The bitch brought that on herself," I scoffed. "I warned her to stay away from me, but she decided to try and slap me. Twice!"

Emma glared furiously at me and she rubbed her arm. "You're going to regret that, whore!"

I lunged forward, but Eli kept me pinned to his chest and he sharply brought his fist down on my thigh. I gasped as a wave of pain shot down my leg and my knee buckled. "You're an actual dickhead!" I hissed and Emma's
