"Magnus I have something to tell you." Alec said cautiously. He wasn't sure how Magnus was going to take the news that he had for him.

"Yes, Alexander." Magnus placed baby Max in his crib and stepped out into the hallway where Alec was waiting. He noted the tension in his boyfriend's stance and knew that whatever he needed to talk about was extremely important.

"Why don't we go into the kitchen? I'll make us some coffee." Alec motioned down the hall and jumped slightly when a steaming cup of coffee appeared in his hand.

"You have your coffee now stop stalling." Magnus said harshly but gave Alec a soft smile to know that he wasn't actually upset.

"Fine, you caught me." Alec ran his fingers through his hair. "At least sit down."

"You're starting to worry me Alexander. What happened?" Magnus lead him to the living room and sat down on the sofa cross-legged facing him. They set their coffees on the table.

Alec sat next to him and took one of Magnus's hands in his. "There's no need to be worried. Everyone is safe. It's nothing like that."

"Then what is it? Is it Chairman Meow?" Magnus looked around the room almost frantically. He hadn't seen that cat around for the past couple days, but that was normal.

Alec touched his cheek to calm him. "He is fine, but that leads me to what I have to tell you. You know how chairman meow was a stray who needed a home?"

Magnus had a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach. "Yes? He was a stray cat."

"Well there is this girl-" Alec started to say but Magnus cut him off.

"Did you adopt another child without telling me first?" Magnus asked him point blank.

Alec looked hurt. "Of course not, Mag. But, well she needs a place to stay for a couple of weeks and the institute asked me if she could stay with us. I of course told them that I'd have to talk to you first."

"Oh, of course." Magnus said sarcastically with a flick of the hand.

"Magnus, come on. She needs our help." Alec looked up at him with those big blue eyes and pouty lip that Magnus could rarely resist.

"Only a couple of weeks?" Magnus scratched his chin.

"Yes, I promise." Alec beamed, he knew he had won.

"Alright then. When shall we pick her up?" Magnus smiled back. Alec's selflessness was one of the reasons he loved him so how could he possibly be upset when he agreed upon it.

"No need. She'll be here in about an hour." Alec hopped up and landed on Magnus to give him a tight hug. "Thank you. I love you."

Magnus laughed, of course Alec knew her say yes. "You're just lucky mister Alexander. What would you have done if I said no?"

"I would have showed you that you were wrong." Alec chuckled and kissed Magnus's cheek.

A/N Sorry it's short but I'm just trying to get back into it. Moving took a lot longer than I expected. Thanks for your patience. Hope you enjoyed it!
